Who's Sorry Now? (the first was: As Long As I Live!): Sounds like Fats Waller was coming down from his place in Heaven to play a solo or two. Stephanie is so much "according" to Fats, in number two, Who's Sorry Now, f.ex., she plays some of the most famous Fats-solo, "Handful Of Keys" from 1929, as a part of the improvisation of the number! Fats would have been proud of her!
40 minutes of PURE JOY! I’m a huge fan of Stephanie and Paolo and have watched this countless times (they were really on form - but actually they’re ALWAYS on form!). Thank you for filming and posting this wonderful performance from 4 excellent musicians!
Beautyfull everythings perfect the four musicians, the location with the nice paintings of the Steamboats, the dress of Stephanie and last but not least the music you shared with us!! Great Thank you so much for this moment of joy and pure jazz!!
@@geoffreybarras7317 Stephanie is such a gift, a living legend, and Paolo is filling his role so well complementing her perfectly. Stephanie is a beautiful woman with great taste in dressing i cannot but have to say it even everybody knows.
Hi Jimmy, This constellation of the quartet was put together only for this particular gig without prerehearsal. This being said, these muscians are outstanding. Whenever any of them are in your neighborhood, be sure to be there!
"As Long as I Live," composed by Harold Arlen, with lyrics by Ted Koehler. It was written for their last show at the Cotton Club Parade, in 1934. It was introduced by Avon Long and Lena Horne.
Stephanie fingering chops are dry and choppy and lacks vitality in her tone. She also plays a tad fast in some renderings. Well, listen to the recordings of Jelly Roll Morton himself and you'll feel his ragtime swing which makes one want to stand up and dance. Stephanie also should start to sing to pick up attention. But Stephanie plays definitely more American than that Classical Paolo.
Well Fred, thanks for your opinion. It is amazing that with such poor techinque she has risen to the top of her field and is loved by practically everyone that isn't a Flintstone. And to compare her with her husband who plays an entirely different style of piano (Jazz vs. Stride) is like comparing apples to oranges.
As a pianist myself, MyOpinion is Fred knows NOTHING about the piano, ragtime, or classical! These two are the very best and at the top of the skill needed to play ragtime or stride piano!! I think Fred has a tin ear!! LOL

What amazes me is how I always hear both Fats and Stephanie.

You are brilliant both of you, and above all always simple and full of humor. Good luck !

4 years after I first saw this, I rate this as one of the best sets ever. I love the selection of songs.
That was an awesome performance. In a room that probably didn't have the best resonance. Living legend pianist Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi.
It is so wonderful Steffanie and hubby like to play very small venues.
THANK YOU.

Oh how I enjoy this!! All four musicians are over loaded with talent!
Superbe, on ne peut ne pas les écouter et réécouter . Trop beau. J adore!!! Bravo à tous les deux.
Two exceptional pianists. They make it look effortless.
Because they're such a visual treat to watch, it's easy to forget that their music is also a treat for the ears.
EXCELENTES COMO SIEMPRE!!!!
Si, y además simples y sonrientes.
Always the BEST!
fantastiques musiciens bravo!!!!!
Scoperti da poco tempo ascoltando Paolo Tomelleri!
Ora li ascolto spesso. Bravissimi!!!
I love that Paolo supports her with loving looks and respectful deference during her solos.
heartpursuer ... but retains top billing.
This is SUPERB!!!! Love this!!!!!
24' 15" Your always in my dreams (original from guitar)... whaoooo !
The second song, "Who's Sorry Now" is one of my all time favorites. Hope they put it on an album.

Yeah Anne, with striding princess and her prince around , bravo is an understatement:)
Przepięknie.

Very good for training Geraldine.
I miss Stephanie’s solos. Difficult to wreck a great talent’s career but it obviously can be done.
Yes, she seems devastated
Fully agree!
Trop faciles ..😂😂😘😘
Geweldig!

What is the first song called?
"As Long as I Live," composed by Harold Arlen, with lyrics by Ted Koehler. It was written for their last show at the Cotton Club Parade, in 1934. It was introduced by Avon Long and Lena Horne.
Zgrany kwartet-cudowny.

Poorly recorded video/audio of these great artists. Skip it and select a better one (many available).
The room audio look like they were abysmal, but this is as live as it gets on a steamboat ?
what's the drummer's name ? Thanks !
Hi Tatane73! It's Kevin Dorn on drum and Clint Baker on double bass.
Так и я могу. А вот Мурку залабать поди слабо.
Stephanie hits it on the money but isn't a polished pianist, while Paolo's classical touch is nice but it doesn't go with rag dance music.
Please elaborate as to why you think Stephanie isn't a polished pianist.
