I just re-watched this video. If anyone is looking at the comments, who would like to see me make a video on what has changed mindset and gear?
Call it a Bug Out bag Roast of myself lol.
Give me a reply or a like on this comment!

By far one of the most comprehensive ghb’s I’ve seen on UA-cam. I just subscribed to your based on this video. I would love to hear, what has changed, mindset, and gear update. Please don’t think we are the extreme because we are willing to have a 30+lb ghb. My current edc ghb is just a maxpedition mongo clone, that has held up extremely well loaded up with 20+lbs of gear. It also doubles as my daily hiking bag for me and the family. I can’t wait to watch your 7k$ ghb video too! Much respect and admiration from Northern California!!

You're well prepared. I like the idea of the chest rig with supplies. Too many people seem obsessed with going light and taking a minimalist approach, but if you're far from home, alone and things are bad, it's better to have things than struggling or suffering because one is concerned about public opinions.

Really enjoyed your video, one of the best bags I’ve seen on YT. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into it based on experience rather outlandish “what if/zombie invasion” fantasies. Also, like your presenting style, very informative without droning on, no nonsense and on point. Thanks for sharing, I’ve subbed!

Great video, carry similar, just in a mystery ranch SATL, I use the hpg bag as a grab in case I have to drop and run. The only food I carry is 3 of the Norwegian 24 hr packs, very light and easy to prepare. Great channel by the way.

Seems like a really good and useful bag, packed with all the necessaries! - my father was an active military in the Finnish infantry, and teached us boys to always be prepared, so i have put together a "bug out bagset" just in case....;), and a lot of other stuff... my friends think i have lost my mind when they see all my gear! I just ran across your channel and this video.... I think that you have a great basic get-home bag there. Great choice of the bag itself! Our get home kits are also housed in Redwing 50's! They are built well, and the lay-outs of them offer us great opportunities. One thing that you focused on was shelter... a lot of people do not. They think that all they need this kit for is to get them from "work" to "home". I guess they don't go anywhere else?... I'm not going to preach... Having a get home bag set up is one thing... improving on it (based on your own situations) is something that should always be considered. I noticed you were filming in an area that had high power lines. High power line avenues and railroad tracks are my favorite choices for routes of travel... especially if a situation is affecting many many people... most will want to travel roadways. I have all high power line avenues and railroad tracks highlighted on the maps that I carry. Best wishes... keep on keeping on.

Thank you. I always try to improve upon my bag and to be honest since this video posted i have changed it slightly with lighter weight products. One thing I see lacking in UA-cam is people actually Training with their bags. My wife and i hike with our packs about 5 to 10 miles every week or so. Its good to have an extensive bag but can you carry it in a real world environment? Wish people would talk about that more. Thank you for the comment. Hope you stick around, i have more to come.

Set aside that Goal Zero and get yourself a Powerfilm solar panel. US made. You can get the model that recharges AA and AAA NiMH batteries for $35-45 on Amazon or eBay. They work great. In good sunlight they can charge 4 AA in approx. 6 hours.

I replaced my woobie with an XL jungle blanket from Snugpak. It’s the same size as the woobie but is warmer. It comes with its own stuff sack and packs down to about the size of a cantaloupe.
I noticed you didn’t have a sun hat or anything for summer months. Boonie hat is my friend. Because sunburn sucks.
You might try packing cubes to help snug down certain “fluffy” gear. Like a good all around jacket or your woobie if you don’t want to get the jungle blanket. I guess is if you’re on the move you can wear the woobie but a jacket might be better. I know that adds weight but that’s my thoughts.
A concept I’m working on is dry food, whether it’s freeze dried, dehydrated or otherwise. Packing stuff that is already dry is going to save weight and potentially space. The biggest complaint is needing to add water. My answer to that is carrying dehydrated food and the water needed to rehydrate it. Sounds silly at first but consider another possibility where you’re carrying wet food like MREs. Heavy but don’t need to be rehydrated. But let’s say food is readily available in your situation but water is not. It would be nice to be able to take the water out of your MRE type food wouldn’t it? So by having the food dehydrated and the water to rehydrate it. You can prioritize which is more necessary. Water or food. If water is plentiful. Use the water available and have the water with you as a reserve or ditch it if you need to. The type of water I’m referring to is the emergency water packets commonly found in lifeboats and the sort. Need replaced every 5 years on average. To me freeze dried food holds us best. If you’re like most people. Keeping up on all of your gear is a real struggle. Let’s face it. Food like cliff bars will spoil fast. Especially in a hot car. Always be ready to gather food along the way. I think of stuff like instant oatmeal. You can find it at almost any gas station, dollar store or whatever. It’s dehydrated and ubiquitous. Fits into the whole dehydrated food thing but easy to find and scavenge. But never limit your options as you know. Gather the Cliff bar type foods too. But you know you can always fall back to your dedicated dehydrated food with its own water.
The challenge to cutting weight is very real. I’m good at saving space but not weight.

I also have a solar charger but I charge to a storage bank during the day. I recently got an Olight Universal Magnetic USB Charger to charge most batteries directly from my solar charger or my battery bank. This battery charger is next to nothing for weight.

I too like darker pouches rather than yellows and blues, but I like to use color to ID each bag without having to open them to see what is inside. If you can't do a color change, you can use paracord as the color code. AA and AAA is less "tactic-cool" but is more tactical than CR123. Travel across America and you will find AA/AAA in even the smallest town at any no-name mom & pop store. For higher "speed" than a wood burning stove (which are not bad), one can carry a BCB Fire Dragon stove and fuel or some other lightweight alcohol stove. Alcohol can run out, but you save on having to gather fuel, it is also more tactical as the light and smell signature is much lower; in addition to being easy to use if you must shelter in a corner of a building away from bad guys.

Really nice bag. Im a big fan of kelty too. I was going to ask why your med kit was buried at the bottom of your bag, but then you pulled the other one out the side. Somethings i noticed- take it or leave it. Water tablets not in the water bag but in possibles pouch? Id personality leave the solar charger in the top compartment with the extra batteries etc. Does your stainless/titanium cups sit on top of your folding stove? I also hope you rotate your mags or at least empty and stretch the springs every so often(prevents possible misfeed. Good deal though man. Thanks for the video.

Nice. Personally, I think that is a lot for a get home bag. But hey, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
I just keep a Kel-tec Sub 2K, a couple 30 round magazines, an MRE, knife, compass, map, light, and solar charger in mine. It's a very small pack that I believe will get me home.
Now my BugOut bag... THATS BIG.
