I’ve recovered hundreds of Civil War buttons metal detecting. There’s nothing more exciting to me than digging old military buttons!
That sounds like so much fun I would love to go metal detecting. Other than the beach. I wouldn't know where to start. I wish I had a few civil war era buttons for the collection. Where do you like detecting? Continue with your happy metal detecting. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@TheVelvetLoungeLifeI detect around the Northern Virginia region mostly, around Bull Run area, which is why I find so many “Civil War” buttons. I also try to relic hunt along the Virginia and Maryland coasts of the Chesapeake Bay, and Potomac River in search of British and American “War of 1812” buttons too. That’s probably my favorite era of military buttons, the earlier 1800s.
Very interesting! I have a couple of misc military and police buttons and ribbons I bought at a yard sale years ago. I'm a veteran, but was unaware of the history of the buttons.
