@@johnnycactus0 good on ya brother.. although that bmw didn t really work out for me" by eck" the clearances were so easy to do ..just like doing an a series Austin. now I'm showing my age ..👍🏻☮❤
Brilliant video my friend. I'm going to change my allegiance and buy a Royal Enfield Interceptor in the future (hopefully) thank goodness for good old fashioned tappets!! Stay safe.
Must say it is more enjoyable watching you do the valves than when I did it myself last year! BTW, have you considered an hydraulic clutch lever upgrade to help your Wife enjoy the bike more? I believe I've seen kits for the Bonneville setup on the TRat forums....
You know your stuff john..I'm in the states and was able to buy a 1968 triumph t90p..not one bit of info on them on the net except a video I put up a few days ago..are there many left in UK..
Just a heads up..tom who keeps commenting on your video is a UA-cam troll looking for likes. I had to block him from my video ...strange people out there
Hopefully part 2 will be up in the next few days! Just waiting on the replacement shims still! I should think if you have no abnormal engine noise or rough running you will be fine until 40k.
Good point mate! I'm not sure!!! I've had a few tighten up hence going middle diddle...i'd need someone with more know how than I have to answer that!!
Hmmm. I wish my valve check was that straight forward lol. The cam cap bolts were so tight I needed a impact gun to shift them . And had to drill one out. Strange as they are only meant to be 10Nm eh? Did you try the clearance with the valves as per work shop manual? I found there was a difference so went with workshop. Can you have a word with my other half please. Look I say to her, JC has his partners bike indoors working on it, I'll bring yours in. I am still trying to warm up from the icey stare lol.
ha ha ha!! surely it's the most sensible place to work on a bike!!?? the cam caps were pretty tight but not impact tight! wow- that must have been scary!!! i cross referenced the workshop manual and the haynes and they both spec 0.15-.0.20 inlet and 0.25-0.30 for exhaust... take care dude!
@@johnnycactus0 The hammer drill was pretty scary. I spent quite a lot of time checking everything for any stress or damage. Other than to me that is. Hopefully easier next time. I was quoted nearly 400 quid for Lings to do it. Thats a lot of beer money saved eh?
@@johnnycactus0 Thats why I had a go myself lol. Not that difficult really and your vid will help any one else prepared to give it a go. Right, back to all that beer I bought. Lol
at this point I normally think , why do I have a
dohc 16 valve bike ,and dream of the old ohv singles I once had.. 👍🏻☮❤
yep- sheer laziness keeps me in singles and twins!!!!

very interesting vidéo.waiting for the part2.Btw my 865 speedmaster has 35000kms, can I wait till40000 for the valves clearance?Cheers from France.

@@johnnycactus0 thanks,I'll wait until there.no particular rough noise.good work on the bike.Cheers
Seeing as the clearance normally gets tighter with time, shouldn’t you set them to the looser/bigger end of the tolerance?
