Heya! 2:09 For those with a numpad. After making the initial row selection of faces you can expand the selection by hitting ctrl and the +on numpad. Deuces!
An important step to know while following along. Make sure that the end result doesn't blind you to your current steps. XD I... sort of applied the subdev on the coat so I now have too many faces to make a good patch. Oh well, you live, you learn, and you improve if you follow those steps. Another important note, sometimes your addons will alter your results for following tutorials. So, in that case, you've got two options open to you, well three really. Option 1: Nuke your addons and follow the tutorial from scratch as much as the UA-camr, in this case Moltenbolt, has. Option 2: Try to get as close to the same end product, result, or model as the UA-camr. Meh option 3: just quit. I do not think option 3 is a good one, but to say it isn't there is to ignore it. Which isn't a good way to go about things. Option 2 might be the best out of them as you not only are learning what the tutorial is teaching but how to work with those addons you downloaded who knows how long ago. ^^ BUT if you are truly new, and haven't gone through the doughnut tutorials, then Option 1 is for you as you can get basically the same result. Just... after you complete the tutorial you all, please try to do the same thing without following along to see if you actually learned something or if you just copied the motions. Victory Deuces to you all who have made it this far, while fast, this is a wonderful intro into many elements of modeling. Even using the sculpting to move your low to high poly mesh around giving it a more lived look.
A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE DEUCES CLUB MEMBERS FOR ALWAYS STICKING TO THE END OF THE VIDEOS!
