Chloe East’s acting is incredible in this. She’s suspicious (like the other young woman) but has a different personality type where she doesn’t bring attention to it but continues to remain bubbly. The way she plays with her hair to show her nerves is a plus, too. Incredible.
Sure but Extreme Measures, Remains of the Day, Maurice, A Very English Scandal, The Gentlemen, An Awfully Big Adventure, Restoration, Cloud Atlas and The Undoing kind of proved that already.
@@Lizna-r4k Yeah I loved him in 'Paddington 2,' he pretty much walked away with the film just from that dance number at the end, he goes full on camp but you can't help but be thoroughly entertained.
first half of this movie was truly awesome - felt like a play at times, and i love that harsh cut to the closeup on Grant when they mention the pie. movie is full of moments where they’ll let a harsh closeup play in real time as characters continue to talk off-screen ❤
Loved this movie! Thought provoking yet chilling and intense. A word on Hugh Grant, devilishly debonair is how I'd describe him! The interesting thing is, his performance, mannerism and delivery isn't too dissimilar to his characters in Notting Hill or Love Actually for example. The "I..I..I" stutter and "yes" at the end of some sentences. Only this time a lot more sinister!
The 1927 song that can be heard on a key scene is "Just Like A Butterfly (That’s Caught In The Rain)", and goes like this: "I know that all of the world is cheery By that old cottage door Why are my wings so weary? I can't fly anymore Here I am praying Brokenly saying "Give me the sun again" Just like a butterfly that's caught in the rain." So convenient.
The front door was somewhere I would NEVER frequent and I've never heard of blueberry pie. The stairs went down to the dungeons, the only way out was up worked that out? Only too late. Convenient. A total off his rocker maniac.
This is my first Hugh Grant movie. Reason being his other movies never interested me. This, however, was a chilling movie and his character is frightfully incredible.
The minute the blueberry pie didn't materialise I would have made a run for the door only to find it was locked and your trapped with a sycho.he might as well have said he had baked a cake for both of them!! Wake up girls.
It's scary how fast his smile drops when he asks "How did your father die?"

she was so cute in the movie
@ Yes. Both girls were. It makes me want to invest in a dungeon and blueberry candles.
It’s evident that because of this and the gentlemen, Hugh grant needs to be typecasted as unhinged characters because he kills it as these characters
I can tell Hugh Grant is going to kill this role.
Hint. He absolutely does. Great movie.
oh yes he did
Hell yeah he did!
lol
finally, hugh grant flexing a more diverse acting repertoire than just the charming lover. excited for this
Sure but Extreme Measures, Remains of the Day, Maurice, A Very English Scandal, The Gentlemen, An Awfully Big Adventure, Restoration, Cloud Atlas and The Undoing kind of proved that already.
You should check him out in the Dungeons and Dragons movie. He's a lunatic in that one and so damn funny, too.
@@thetalentofdon't forget Paddington. He killed it as a fun villain already
He was top notch in "A Very English Scandal"
@@Lizna-r4k Yeah I loved him in 'Paddington 2,' he pretty much walked away with the film just from that dance number at the end, he goes full on camp but you can't help but be thoroughly entertained.
He was so incredible in this movie. They all were, but especially him. It’s the first movie I’ve seen of him
Oscar level he is simply amazing in this
His older movies are mostly romantic slop. This role was a complete departure for Hugh Grant.
When he asks if her father has tried to contact her, I don't think he is lying I think he is hoping for a belief in faith.

🎶Oompa Loompa Doopedy doo, these girls are trapped and definitely screwed🎶

You ever think what a coincidence it is that Lou Gehrig died of Lou Gehrig's disease?
Time to come up with some new material!
@brakesforsnakes757 it's also called ALS.
Everything is just so morbid.
@tedmansfield912 Soprano's Fan Unite
What came first the lou gehrig or the disease?
If you make a joke as corny as "Mr. *read* " and they laugh as if it's genuinely funny. That mf is lying, get out of there.
"That's strange..." he knows what he's doing.....

i love the pun she made it was hilarious, instantly became my favorite character in film
Couldn't help but whisper to my friend sitting next to me "I bet Pi in the oven was as the Buddhist monk who came by yesterday".
This movie was so freaking good. Hugh Grant was perfect.
that pun...shes so damn cute

(there was no pie)
(there was)
Yeah there was
There was but they were smelling the candle
Who’s here in 2024? You could never get a film like this made today.
Definitely couldnt get it made in 2025
Okay, I think I need to see this. I'm also LDS.
@@jamlym4974 There are treatments available for that.
I don't think this is specifically related to LDS Church, except as a symbol of the whole of the revealed religions.
Mr Readdd!!!
Blueberry disease, y'all
Wow, this is knock knock part 2! Me loving it
But the protagonist/antagonist roles are reversed.
Now that would make an interesting movie. Lol this guy vs. the 2 girls in knock knock.
I can’t wait to this
To what?
He was great in Paddington 2
Creeepy😊
✨HERETIC!!❤️💙_________________________________________________________________________________________________
I hope this film doesn’t make Mormon’s look bad and has us care for and relate to the main characters
Oh, you absolutely do. They're such great and fun characters that I could easily root for. Not at all annoying.
@ WHOO! Lessgo
It doesn't. Both characters are smart, kind and resourceful.
They are awful creatures. Here to save dark blk souls ?
🤣🤣🤣

have you seen the movie? it handles that ides pretty well
Oscar or be damed hollyweird
He explores alot of religion that made him so paranoid...what to believe in nothing holy and the books this believers believe are crooks
Blue berry disease 😮
