      it’s mind over matter. a lot of people don’t realize, even when they point it out to themselves but the things that we watch have a huge impact on us. most people are highly oblivious to it, but it happens everyday. from TikTok, to UA-cam, to movies and shows, so much of it is horrible for our minds. many people have trouble over thinking and have anxiety already, the things we watch don’t help when they plant ideas in our head. it’s difficult for a lot of people to watch something or have an idea put into their head and NOT think about it. you just have to remind yourself that life shouldn’t be about comparing yourself to others. sure, we all do it. but all we have is time. it’s best to try and overcome those tendencies and love ourselves

    this movie snuck up on me, i literally just went to see it when it came out with no expectation or anything, and i loved it so much, the chemistry they had, i was like damn, and also i read the book right after and it was my first time reading a new adult type book where there's a lot of sex, and i was like obsessed, now i own the dvd and book and rewatch/ reread often, it was not supposed to have a chokehold on me but here we are

    About what "changed" about trying clothes and being silly, is that she gave her consent to someone who knew her since they were kids. But someone who hates her recorded the video to make fun of her and humilliate her. I think there's a huge difference here.

    The movie Freaky was a pretty good movie that came out last year. It's not entirely a teen movie, but the jokes and the plotline reminded me of some of the older movies like Freaky Friday. You should definitely check it out. It was made by the same person who made Happy Death Day.

    the problem i find with the "talks down to bullies" thing is how how scripted it feels. Like, most of the movies like these have scripts yeah but the dialogue more often than not comes across naturally and then... the protag has this whole ass speech about how they are better than the bully because they are kind. It's so faaaake.

    The Duff for me was really hard to enjoy because the book was just a different vibe entirely and I found the adaptation kinda fucked it up. But if I were to detach it from the book (which I just can’t do) it’s not a bad stand alone film.

    • @32fps
      @32fps 2 роки тому +17

      It's interesting because I saw the movie first, loved it so much that a friend got me the book... And I actually kind of hated the book. It's been a long time, so I don't remember exactly, but I think for me a big part was it just made NO SENSE why she didn't confide in her friends. In the movie it's much more light hearted and the drama isn't so high, so it's easy to let go. In the book for me it frustrated me so much I just ended up hating her character. I also had an issue with how they handled the abuse from her father but that's very personal to me and my own experiences.

    • @xxunitatoaestheticxx3318
      @xxunitatoaestheticxx3318 2 роки тому +9

      @@32fps I've never read the book but I felt a little bit of that frustration when she just de-friended her friends instead of talking first. If this is the drama being low, I don't think I would like the book that much either. Which is funny because I normally love the books and get mad at the adaptations when I finally watch them. (**Cough cough** PJO abomination movies)
