It depends on which mineral brand you provide. They all have different formulations, and some don't have enough copper or selenium. Purina Goat Minerals and Sweetlix Meat Maker LOOSE minerals both have a good amount of copper and selenium, so you should not need to provide additional copper or selenium unless you have antagonists in your well water. I always say to watch your goats, and they'll let you know what they need. ONLY give additional supplements if the goats are showing signs of deficiency. There is no one-size-fits-all recommendation because the forage, soil, and water vary from farm to farm -- sometimes even farms that are neighbors! We have linked several articles about copper and selenium in the show notes above.
Would I still give selenium supplements and copper oxide supplements? I give selenium once a month and copper oxide every 8 months.

New goat owner here what is a mineral buffet ?
@@makendriegardner2047 Each mineral is in a separate dish, and it is ridiculously expensive and has no research to back it up.
