Using only one chain with a half double crochet stitch (and not counting the chain as a stitch) is the secret sauce 😁

This pattern and the tutorial made me a new subscriber! (I also joined the newsletter.) I HATE baby blankets with "holes" in them! They really aren't very practical. This pattern is simple, yet open for all SORTS of adjustments to make it a bit more complex if the crocheter chooses to change things up a bit. :) While I don't have any babies to crochet for at the moment, this will DEFINITELY go into my "for future use" file! :D Thank you for sharing such a lovely pattern and I look forward to exploring previous and future patterns as well. :)

I am going to make this baby blanket next. Do I need a "gauge"? I'm not even sure what it is???
Is there a way you could add how many skeins to buy of the yarn you recommend for each of your projets? That would help me!
I don't know anyone who crochets, so I am relying totally on you.
    Thank you !
