      They were talking about bands as a band asking alexandria have never done a country song the closest they got was vultures and moving on but that still isn't country... danny did do a country solo album but in this interview they were talking about themselves as in the actual band asking alexandria... if they were talking about solo albums Ben wouldn't be there

    This is what I'll never understand. Everybody goes on about how current day Metallica is horrible, and everybody agrees, but as soon as Asking Alexandria say it, the Internet explodes in rage. If Ozzy or Lemmy or Slayer or whoever said it, everybody would agree with them. It's not what they're saying, it's who's saying it that's the thing that's annoying people.

He might've said and couldn't believe that it was true, but he did say they were still a band to be respected. At least that's what I got out of his words :)

    funny how the singer says other bands use a formula. any musician can listen to AA and understand that band is definitely using a recipe themselves. not once, not twice, but every damn song. the singer is just dense and doesn't notice the open e string pattern over and over again lets not forget hitting c on the e string for that true emotion!

      Roderick Peterson Guns N' Roses used the same repetitive chord progression for a lot of songs and their music is fucking legendary. All any band does is find what works and stick to it, which happens to be using the same progression or things like that.

      A shitty band that first started out as post-hardcore and only chugged one open chord throughout all of their songs. Now they are slowly changing into a generic radio hard rock band and are OCCASIONALLY hitting chords that go up to the 3rd fret. They covered skid row's 18 and life and they suck so bad that they had to simplify the solos in the song so they could pull it off, rather than actually practicing and getting better, the lazy talentless fucks.

      I do know something about music. I know a hell of a lot more than Danny does. He thinks that guns n roses was the only metal to "hold on for dear life" through the 90's even though guess what? That version of guns n roses NEVER released another album. Because nowadays guns n roses is just an axl rose solo project and a shitty one at that. Don't give me that shit about his accent affects his singing because it doesn't. He doesn't sound English at all when he sings(or at atleast attempts to because he sucks at singing). Ac/dlc is Australian. Does Brian Johnson sound Australian when he sings? No he doesn't. There cover sucked shit. They simplified every thing about the song so they could pull it off because all they can do is 0-0-0-0-0-1-0-0-0-0.

    I still like asking Alexandria, i mean yeah i don't like what they said about the Nirvana and Metallica. but they do have a point, Metallica is old news, i like them but I've never been a fan of bands that stay on for years and years. And i don't know why people are making fun of someones opinion even know they may be bad ones, that's like me saying to someone that I hate metal overall and them saying WELL FUCK YOU METAL IS AWESOME AND YOU CANT HAVE AN OPINION, its a bit unreasonable, so what difference does it make that members of a band saying something about a band they may not like?

      I did actually watch the full thing, i new they were influenced by nirvana and they hate the new Metallica, i was just saying theres no point of making fun of someone elses opinion :)
      And i personally like asking alexandria and three days grace, i wouldnt count myself as "Emo" though, or scene or any other names that society calls people with this certain type of music. Have a good day :)

    Almost all they said was just sarcasm they both enjoy Metallica and Aerosmith, and why call them generic when they are actually a great influence for their genre that's why nowadays a lot of new bands sound like them.

    They shouldn't get ahead of themselves.
    Their music is formulaic as fuck... the same fuckin' Gothemburg style riffs, the same power-chord based chorus with cheesy singing/keyboards and the very fuckin' SAME open string palm muted breakdown from almost every melodic Post-hardcore and pseudo-Metalcore bands (Pseudo-metalcore because bands like Converge and Integrity are actual Metalcore).
    They are just a bland, unoriginal and boring band that is popular for Hot topic kids... they are not even metal, the only metal thing I can stick out from them are the Gothemburg copypasted riffs and some growls (shitty fake growls) from their vocalist, but that's all... everything else is friggin' pop punk shit that even Avril Lavigne could do.

    To be honest, I'm with Asking Alexandria on this one.
    Everybody hates on new Metallica, especially considering the quality of their material post ...And Justice For All. So in reality what Asking Alexandria is doing is nothing new. It's not what they're saying, it's who's saying it that's sparked such a controversy. I guarantee that if Lemmy Kilmister hated on Metallica a ton of people would agree with him, but whenever Asking Alexandria have an opinion, they get attacked for it.
    Yes, they're cocky and arrogant and all that, but hey, all rockstars are, am I right? At least Asking Alexandria actually show up for their shows on time unlike a certain Mr. Rose...

    suuuuree, asking alexandria is SUPER original, is not like the other 10000000 emo core bands out there
    Asking alexandria, attack attack, chelsea grin, "Something" with sirens, all that hipster emo fashion stuff, IS ALL THE SAME, some growls and open sixth string riffs, some keyboard effects, the chorus is always the same, some dude singing like a girl about how they broke up with their girlfriend and some screams, then the most overused part of the song... the Breakdown... no need to explain
    Oh and, people can write songs about the hell they want. Rock, metal, etc is not about having issues or decapitate babys as many ignorants think it is

    I think, and read carefully, that everybody posting about this has a finger up their ass. When I saw this advertised on facebook, it was said they SLAMMED Nirvana. The only band they had anything to say about was Metallica's NEW shit. Which, I do like Death Magnetic a bit, but we can all safely agree that maybe they care a bit more about being "Metallica" than being musicians. Musicians in the sense musically, not technically.

    Ben Bruce: I honestly can't believe the bullshit people are saying about this interview! We clearly said that Nirvana were genius and deserve to be inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame and that Metallica will always be the biggest band in the world and that no one would ever take their crown from them! I also did an interview with guitar world a few months ago and said that Metallica were one of my favourite bands of all time! Such a ridiculous situation! It doesn't even fucking matter! I know that I love Metallica and Nirvana! No need to prove otherwise! ;)

    I will say this and I'm sure my opinion won't be popular, but asking alexandria musically has matured over the years since the first music they have came out. I do dig the metalcore, old school rock n roll approach they have in their music nowadays from the songs "don't pray for me," "moving on, and "run free." Some should listen and hear the difference in sound they have. They are heading in the right direction
    HOWEVER, the opinions expressed about Metallica should of kept to themselves. These questions are a bit stupid as well

    People are so idiotic, they weren't talking badly about metallica and nirvana, they made a valid point that metallica could put out anything they want and everyone would bow down to it because they're pretty much the 'gods' of metal. And they were completely right about the comments they made on generic bands which isn't entirely hypocritical if you follow the band you would know they're completely moving away from the generic metalcore scene.
    And lastly the majority of you need to learn to understand sarcasm.

    I actually don't know how to feel about this. fame's getting to their heads. "stupid bands", absolutely, but that's not for them to say. I feel like they are really trying too hard to be these big rockstars meanwhile they're in a sub-par metalcore act that started in 2008.

      Not really.....they were one of the first popular bands of metalcore and basically pioneered the early days of metalcore and paved the way for other bands to just copy their style. You're wrong.

    They prove a point with the whole "radio music" thing. People seem to not understand there are so many different forms of music that aren't primarily on the radio. When most of it is actually really good but the idiots who run these stations simply don't understand how to identify good music.

    How ironic that Asking Alexandria bashes other artists for sounding so much alike. Get a drug problem? Middle class artists shouldn't make music? God forbid a music type other than metal becomes successful. I wouldn't even consider their music in the category of metal. There is more to music that technicality and screaming into a microphone. There is plenty of good metal artists around these days and they are not one of them.

    There is alot of bullshit being thrown around here, and you may not like the band but as ben said "I honestly can't believe the bullshit people are saying about this interview! We clearly said that Nirvana were genius and deserve to be inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame and that Metallica will always be the biggest band in the world and that no one would ever take their crown from them!" they didn't really do much insulting and they may of made sarcastic remarks but everyone else saying they need to get over themselves, well you do as well. I'm not here to start conflict, but at the same time, everyone is blowing this up out of proportion.

    I love asking, but I love Nirvana A LOT MORE. But people are acting like asking insulted Nirvana for killing a genre of music, however they're just clearly saying that Nirvana shifted the scene from being about thash metal, heavy metal etc to grunge.
