Yup. NTs who are close to autistic folks need to work hard on assuming good intentions and asking clarifying questions. Saying "What do you mean by that?" and "What I just heard you say was..." Can be game changers.
pahaha [Story time ~] I definitely believe it's a two-way street! I definitely have seen that mentality, and experienced it myself, where all people with disabilities, disorders, etc., have any sort of "deficiency" can just work toward that magical mark of being normal like everyone else! I think, sure, we can work on things, but "neurotypical" people can work on their understanding and patience, etc as well
I think that’s a really good way of writing it! I didn’t really Get that neurotypical don’t need to think about the communication, because it comes natural, and therefore don’t choose to work on it, until now!
@sara it is like being English speaker. Why would we bother the effort to learn Norwegian!?!?... I DONT EVEN LIKE DEATH METAL. (That is metaphor maybe I actually like death metal...i wod explain... but i saw a squirrel) Thanks
YES! AND IT GOES FOR EVERYONE, not just neurotypical people talking to autistic people. I believe it must be especially hard for you and others like you, though. This is so informative, keep it up
@@WiwyWish yeah, they don't really Know enough about autism to know how to take it, but it never seems like I get any consideration for it. Often I guess they don't know what to think, but sometimes think I might be slow or something, lol.
Didn’t you have short hair recently? And you make a video of autism traits missed growing up. The first one was sensory issues and you said you hated socks and would throw them away in school?
You need to work on your straw man arguments. I think your adorable and your poor boyfriend must be an angel. My partner is amazing she is so nice to me. I wonder how many times a day I deeply insult her without knowing it. I love your confusion face... try justifying your viewpoint to a NT and watch them justify themselves. Ask them to boil it down to black and white and for them to tell you the world is not black and white. I assure you all it is but it would take 4 times your lifetime to explain and justify myself... so yes you are right normy. I felt that video. Thank you

second_banana I agree!! Everything changes when people assume the best in people and try to understand each other ☺️🙌🏻

Feels like yeah a 2 way street but we have to drive down it backwards with a blind person guiding us. Lol

That’s sweet, thank u ❤️❤️
Yeah, i kind regret wver telling coworkers my autism diagnosis, people s understanding is limited, yeah its a two way street
Ah, can you tell me more about why you regret it? Is it because they assume much about you now?

And that’s fine if you are :) I hope it gets better for you ☺️
@@WiwyWish I"m surviving , security , america is what it is. I hope you're surviving well, it's dark times
I’m doing pretty good actually, so don’t worry about me 👍🏻 I hope these times will disappear soon for those who aren’t as lucky as myself tho 😔
