Is ELSA from FROZEN AUTISTIC? | Autistic Disney Characters Theory
Переглядів 3,6 тис.4 роки тому
This video is us exploring if Elsa from Frozen is autistic or not. We see indications in both the first and the second movie that both signs of meltdowns and overstimulations is things she can struggle with. Also a parallell to ABA therapy can be seen by her parents telling her to wear gloves to hide her powers and protect people around her. The truth is, I don`t know if she`s autistic, but tha...

I Have Autism | My First Video About Autism | My Life
I bet you smell wonderful, but the way I’m also on the spectrum and I like showering, I love smelling great. I haven’t washed my hair for ages.
I'm autistic and I don't mind taking showers! Showering and brushing my teeth is part of my morning routine!
Oh hullow!!! I like the enthusiastic intro /i greeting.
I love having baths, its just if i have the energy to have one lol
Didn’t you have short hair recently? And you make a video of autism traits missed growing up. The first one was sensory issues and you said you hated socks and would throw them away in school?
You kinda cute. In a tism way.
What I don't like is bathrooms in general. Loud amplifying echo chambers that melt my brain.
I just need a reminder to do the task and the step by step instructions. I want people to say directly you stink. If you don't say you stink like body odor I won't know. Then tell me to shower. If I stink like I fart just tell me I fart and go to bathroom. If I poop my diaper say you poop your diaper lets get clean up. If you don't tell me I am wet diaper then I won't know like today I wet through my diaper today because I didn't know i was wet. Just say as is. I won't be upset because you are saying the truth and you help me with my hygiene and it makes you happy and me happy so I don't have skin issues or body odor. Including in social skills and behaviors and many other skills with multiple steps. I like to feel clean and and I don't like the smell and my skin feels yucky if I don't shower. The sensory issues of the shower is hard to cope with. The part with shower with too much pressure like after they fixed the pipes down the street at dads house made it hurt a bit. The sun or bright lights. The small space so having a shower chair was helping me and the Ballance. I wish to God people saw that before and got me a chair. I thought it was for people who can't stand or walk. Then to have the shower head come off and to have a way to turn off the water to soap up. The best part is the flower scent stuff is the part I want. The hot water bothers me. The steam bother me. Them hot water to cold air in winter so hard for me. I hate water in my face and ears. The part is bubble bath I am in water and more comfortable for me. The thing is I can't get in a bath tub.
🤩Very interesting for a first video!
Thank you. You are awesome. This video made me understand my son better. 👏
Autistic people smell sweet but can't smell rancid. Best thing to do is shower every other night or every night if your body gets smelly faster. Scrub the dirt off and lather up your hair and rinse with clean water. Autistic people have smell sensitivities, and we try to accomodate them, however other people who have strong smell sense can smell it and it can make it really tough for some of us. Person who is sensitive to smells, who has ocd, etc. It affects them. Please lets all accomdate each other and just take a shower every other day at least.
I got so much to say on this topic since I had a lightbulb moment with Elsa being a character I relate very much with, and my recent autism diagnosis.
Man this made me cry. I thought Elsa was maybe coming to terms with being LGBTQ

I have suspicions that I might be Autistic and/or have ADHD, but I haven't gotten assessed yet. So here is how I relate to this: 1. Sensitivity I'm sensitive to specific sounds that can be really annoying, pain, emotions, gory scenes in TV shows and movies, and even gory stories in general, I'm not sure if this is considered to be something under the umbrella of sensitivity, but whenever I see a gory scene (for example someone getting hurt, or medical scenes) in a TV show, movie, etc, I have to look away, and if I don't, it begins playing on repeat in my head, which isn't fun. A similar thing happens when someone talks about injuries, so I usually leave or cover my ears if a conversation begins to be about that stuff. Also, in social situations I have a hard time focusing on the conversation I am supposed to focus on because of other sounds, and other conversations. Also, sometimes it can be really overwhelming when a lot of conversations are going on all around me. I also have issues with talking while other people are talking. I don't know why, but when others are talking, be that other conversations, or someone interrupting me, I have a hard time just continuing to talk. 2. Systems and structure I too don't have a lot of structure, but I have a desire to have systems and structure in my life, but when I try to actually structure my life, I often fail to follow through with it, and actually maintain it. Though I do have some routines I do follow, though I don't get super upset if it's disrupted, though I can get mad. 3. Making friends I'm not a very social person, so I often don't make new friends or talk a lot. I often just stay by myself, and don't talk or interact with others. But when I meet someone who shares an interest with me, I can suddenly become very talkative. For example, I was in a job interview, and I wasn't doing well at talking about myself, or just talking in general, but as soon as one of the interviewers revealed that they were interested in a similar topic as me, I suddenly began to talk a lot more, and specifically I talked a lot about that interest. I'm still a bit unsure how good I am at picking up that people aren't interested in the stuff I am talking about to them, but I do at least eventually see that they have lost interest in it. I usually understand when something is a joke, etc, but from time to time I can get a bit confused and think that someone is being serious when they are joking, and vice versa. 4. Traditions I have traditions that I like to follow, and it can be really annoying/weird when it's suddenly not the same, but I don't get super mad if everything isn't the same. 5. Special interest I don't have one special interest that I have had throughout my life, but at various points in my life, I have had specific things that I have had a lot of interest in. The first one I can remember was a video game I played as a kid (Superia) that I used to constantly talk about, but when the game servers eventually shut down, my interests moved on. Now it's Programming, and a bit of tech in general. Though there is some random interests that I have from time to time, but those tend to not last more than a few weeks. 6. Honesty I tend to be very honest about things, but with time, practice, and a bit of masking, I have gotten better at not always being 100% honest when it's not beneficial or necessary (for example there are some situations when being very honest with someone, it can hurt their feelings, etc, and there are other situations where you aren't supposed to talk about something), though my solution is usually just to be quiet rather than telling a lie. 7. Shutdowns and meltdowns I don't think I've ever had a meltdown, but if I have I have forgotten it. I rather have shutdowns, though that isn't as frequent anymore. As a kid I would often just run away to a corner, sit down, and shut everything out, this was usually after getting bullied, but more recently it was after seeing my dead grandpa. (we were supposed to go and see him, or at least his body, before his funeral, but I could barely look at him, and I ended up sitting in a corner crying, and shutting everything out) 8. Too talkative As mentioned earlier, I don't talk a lot, but if the topic is about something I am interested in, I can begin to talk a lot about it. I still remember being told by my mom that I should let other people talk about their interests. (this was after I talked a lot to friends in school about a video game, and I barely gave them time to speak) TL;DR: I'm probably autistic.
Fun fact, showering every day isn't as necessary as you might think. And neither is using lots of shampoo, etc every time. So showering every few days, or showering every day, but not doing a "deep" shower every time, is an ok way to do it. And showering less can actually lead to there being less oil in your hair, etc, since showering a lot trains the body to make more oil than it needs (since there is a reason it's there, and showering gets rid of it, so the body begins to make more and more), so showering less will eventually lead to you actually not needing to shower so often.

NORGE! Hello fellow Norwegian.
Am autistic. I hate showering too. I maybes shower once or twice a week. I try to avoid doing it as much as possible. If I got to go somewhere like an appointment or shopping then yes, I will make an effort but doing it really tires me out mentally. I can't remember the last time I washed my hair though, at least a couple of months. I usually wear a shower cap to keep my hair dry in the shower. My hair isn't too greasy. I should wash my hair but it just adds an extra 10 to 15 minutes in the shower doing it. Just can't be bothered. Back in my childhood before we had gas central heating we had a bath once a week and the bath water was shared because it cost so much money to heat up a tank of water. No, nobody will tell you that you stink. People are too polite. A parent might but not a stranger. I wouldn't tell a stranger they stink might get beaten up for it.

Do you have hypomobility heds
I'm autistic and I hate showering everyday I know how you feel.
I am also autistic, school teaches nothing about the disability and very few people are understanding, many prefer to be made fun of
I also have an issue with showering too. I have what was called PDD-NOS, ADHD, language based learning disability, anxiety and depression. I’m older. Born in the 1960s. Thank you for talking about it. I was actually better younger than now if I don’t go out and that doesn’t include chronic pain.
Where did you go
😊🤭😝 I'm happy happy happy now and I have autism
I hate washing because I always feel sick and itchy afterwards. But I hate being sweaty. I have a carer twice a week to remind me to.
she's been isolated for most of her life she didn't ever get a chance to interact with people. That could be referred to as learned Autism
Yeah, it’s all about the hearts we touch. It’s all about how everyone feels about it and the fact that everyone has their own way. I think I like your videos.
I am the same way because I have Autism too. I feel the same way about what other people say about US AUTISM people. It’s not my style either.
Thank you.
im watching this after showering for comfort lmao. showers are hells for me n m not even sure if im autistic. the transition from being dry to wet, the temp change, the energy required to clean, the lights i have to have on if im at someone's else house, the sounds, everything sucks. ive done everything i can to make my showers more comfortable for me and they still suck.

I hate showers with a passion! I like baths a bit more because I can bring my computer and watch a movie or show, I can light a candle and use a fancy bath bomb. Also baths take a while to fill up and be ready for me to get in so it gives me a natural buffer to mentally prepare. If it makes you feel better, Washing your hair daily is actually really bad for it because it strips the natural oils, and your hair will get used to how often it is washed. I rinse my hair maybe twice a week, and I only wash it with shampoo every two ish weeks. The last few days before I wash it, the oil buildup is kinda gross but I can tell it's slowly reducing so I just wear it up. I am actually slowly starting to transition to not using shampoo at all because the buildup of product actually makes it need to be washed more. My goal is to get to the point where I can just rinse it with Apple Cider Vinegar water once a week (I still condition every time I get it wet though because it's belly button length and my natural oils will never make it all the way down). So long story short, it's actually better for your hair to wash it less frequently. You can tell people it's for hair health!
THIS SO RELATABLE
trauma and thinking you are wrong, everything bad is because of you, being seen as the outsider normies don’t understand is pretty explicitly in the movie. How you interptret it how ever (a gay, trans, autistic, racialised/ethnicised, disabled) is up to everyone’s own interpretation. In some stories it’s pretty difficult to ignore one interpretation because it references so many specific things. frozen isn’t one of those in my opinion. It’s an outsider weirdo story but not a specific type of weirdo story.
I hate showering and I get away with people not noticing. I'm trying to get to a 2 times a week goal. But it also plays into my procrastination on doing laundry and it's a vicious cycle 😢
Talking helped me but been plateau diminished returns
I’m in middle school and they still don’t teach about it
I don't like showing or bathing. I don't even know the reason why. I love going to a pool or jacuzzi. It triggers my anxiety, and it just seems odd. I can go for longer than a week.
You make fun videos. Thanks!
Well done. I’m not alone. x
I think this is why sometimes people don't understand my jokes lol
I am autistic originally diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and I can relate to this. I hate the process of showers I'd like the feeling of being clean. Showers can be a sensory nightmare and a executive functioning nightmare. Sometimes I skip a day. I use 72-hour antiperspirants to stop smelling bad.
I skip often; I am lucky if I shower once a week. My itchy scalp usually makes me do it. Water in my face plus tactile sensitivity and the temperature constantly changing. All the task changing as well. I hate getting wet, too; I always carry an umbrella so the rain does not get me wet. I wholeheartedly agree @WillWellington, and I am diagnosed with Asperger's as well.
I hate showering and always have for the same reason as you and also because I don't like getting water in my eyes and ears. I also hate the way my fingers feel when I clip my nails so I avoid it as long as I can.
Thank you for this!
I use baby wipes in between showers .
You are my hero for making this video lol
I love your videos! thank u for helping me better understand myself💗
I think Hiccup and Fishlegs from the "How To Train Your Dragon" film franchise might be autistic.
I have never felt so proud to having autism until I started watching videos of UA-camrs with autism. /pos Thank you so much for creating your videos!
It is ADHDelightfully Autisterrific to see other people like me talking about their experiences with having autism in an allistic society. /gen /pos Showering is a tough one for me too for mostly the same reasons but with different nuances.
I actually don't mind about showering this bad but some things I have to do like plan when I am going to wash my hair and it takes ages because it doesent always work the way I like because 7 days a week is not even so it gets messed up sometimes BC I like to have my hair clean for certain days when I'm doing things also when my hair is dirty I will not go anywhere or want to change BC It feels terrible and I do hate about showering is putting condishoner on my hair even when it's just the ends it just feels terrible the way my hands rub on my hair but then after I wash it feels alot better Is anyone the same?
