I have nothing but reverence for these men. And it's shameful that it took 51 very long years to correct their legacy.

3* courageous young men. Peter Norman stood by their side and was persecuted for it.

they never talk about him is school, I am proud of him and carlos. Role ahead 2020 and athletes like colin K kneeling and WHITE PEOPLE use the same excuse that you are disrespecting the flag when its toally not about that. In other words they want you to stop complaining.

so sad how the OLYMPICS suppressed them, because the majority were still against that idea at the time. the world changed because of them. they were a peice to the puzzle were solving today. respect to these brave men, sacrificing medals, reputation, and basic life, for a better world in the future.

That’s how absurdly racist our culture is. We give trans people rights and transform culture / pronouns before we even solve the racism problem for African Americans. Bravo to these awesome men for protesting like this.

My personal feelings are if you don’t like or agree with the way Black people were being treated or how United States were doing thing… no problem. DON’T WEAR THE U S A colors and participate on the Olympic team. Get off team and get with a grassroots organization and protest all you want in the streets

I am sorry, but I disagree. Smith, Carlos, Evans were the greatest sprinters of their time and they had every right to represent their country. They were also citizens of a country that ill-treated the people of their race. For that they had every right to protest in a dignified manner. They honored their country by winning. Then, they protested the injustice with dignity.

God bless all three of those men who took a stand. That was when racism truly truly existed and human rights was a huge issue. Now everyone tries to be a victim.
