“My pants are tight” these writers are so damn good. Slow Donny is one of the best characters of all time.

i think he did like three episodes of this.
I agree, he is funny and makes being slow more humorous than offensive. Ironically, he and everyone else on the series is funny but David Spade is not in my opinion.
To this day I do the "Chicken pot pie" line and people recognize it.

I remember the first time that I saw this and I died. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
In my family we still quote “My pants are tight!” and “Chicken pot pieeeee...” It’s interesting to me how much Mr. Show talent was used on “Just Shoot Me”.

I watched this show during its original run and this the only episode I remember because of David Cross. Specifically these lines, "Green Quarter" "Chicken-pot, Chicken-pot, Chicken-pot pie" and "My Pants are tight". I still use "My pants are tight" when I see a beautiful woman and tell my friends.

I'm from a small town in North Carolina, and went to school with a guy (we'll call him Johnny) who was let's say, different. He wasn't stupid at all, just "socially awkward". After graduation (in the 1980's) he went to ""work"" at the local (crooked) gas company, who also owned about half of all the other business in town. He did non-dangerous odds and ends, and is still employed there today. Hell, he's such a mascot in that town his face is plastered on the back of their friggin gas trucks! EVERYBODY knows Johnny.
Johnny was/is awkward, yet extroverted, and most people tolerated him at best. His personality was "nice" enough that he easily woo'ed the old ladies and the men who were (at all) gullible, but the "woke" folks didn't buy the act.
He was obsessed with the Highway Patrol and oddly, the (local rock quarry) dump truck drivers, and could hitch a ride (never has had a driver's licence) with ANY truck driver or cop to anywhere he chose.
He's never paid to see a local High School football game or paid for the many hotdogs he's ate there....and he's been to virtually every game to date.
When he goes to the local diner, they usually don't charge him, and it's understood that, that's just the way it is. He's always "broke" and doesn't mind hinting around for a few bucks, from anyone who doesn't "know" better.
He's attended Highway Patrol ceremonies as a special guest.He's knows (and is known by) ever member of the county school board, and one of the county judges got him a phone call with the governer!
The young girls/women in town readily flirt with him, and he's always ready with a big hug. He's a friggin Renaissance Man!
But he's an evil little bastard in sheep's clothing.
He's always been quick to spread wild rumors about anyone opposing the "Smiths" (the crooked gas company, town owning family), and there's always been allot of opposition to them, until another propane company and other outsiders moved in a coupe years ago and their locals weren't beholden to the "Smith" monopoly.
I've heard (several) grown men in this town swear to kill him if they ever had the chance, for the various (serious) rumors being spread.
Back in the 90's, when I was still around there, I (and a close friend of mine) personally saw/heard the cute little late teen girl who worked (at that time, the only) convenient store in town, and right next to the gas company (both owned by the Smith's), cry her eyes out insisting Johnny had forcefully "approached" her sexually. After calming down, she swore us to secrecy, because of being scared to loose her job. Plus, her knowing all the pull the Smith's had at the county courthouse at that time, SHE might end up being the one in jail!
A final note on how interacting with this personality type can easily turn even the sweetest person into someone willing to do violence;
Around 2009 my mom, who lived there her whole life, was diagnosed with cancer and had to move from the country back into town for for financial reasons, but mainly closer drives to bank, grocery, church etc. She was sick, but fiercely independent.
My wife and I borrowed an appliance cart (hand cart) from Mr. Smith who was aware of mom's condition, and happy to help (HE was a super nice guy and was the town tycoon, but his wife and oldest son really ran the businesses).
We used the cart and returned it that day to an employee. About 3 months passed and on this day my wife and I had just left visiting my mom and stopped for gas at the Smith convenient store. Johnny recognized my truck and came over from the gas company to accuse us of STEALING the damn cart!
Just as I started to cuss Johnny out, my wife told him....loudly... "if you can't find it, that's YOUR problem, we returned it, and if I hear one word around town about that damn hand cart, I will find you and punch you in your lying mouth!".......and she isn't violent at all....but she meant it.
I just smiled at Johnny with my eyebrows raised and slowly shook my head with a confirming yes.
I think most people are more like Donny than we suspect. But we know this... right?

This episode is a classic, and it's still relevant. People still try and fake mental/physical illness for attention and you'll see it a lot on the internet. This episode was kind of ahead of it's time.
