    Is blue green the hardest colour to choose for your Season? I think so, especially between the Soft Seasons, so we're starting with those :) And if you keep changing your mind in Panel 4, we're the same. We'll see those items again in upcoming videos to see if the answer is easier.
    Respect to Terry Wildfong of NDU Colors, my friend, colleague, and trainer (was it really 15 years ago??), and the first person I ever saw laying the fanned out palette on fabric. So many windows opened that day!

    What a gorgeous and tranquil color family. I was happy to see this video. I anticipate part 2! :) I've always noticed that teals and other blue-greens make my irises (a medium-dark blue color) look like gemstones! My mom has one of those eyes that has a golden sunflower formation around the pupil that is surrounded by medium-dark teal-ish colors. Blue-greens are so lovely! Maybe you're aware or not aware, but green has been trending among younger people this summer. Specifically that chartreuse/highlighter green, thanks to Charli XCX's new Brat album which has a solid chartreuse album color. It is so interesting when a specific color goes viral. For color analysts, seeing everyone wear the same single color might be nightmare fuel but the psychology of trend participation is fascinating, isn't it? Especially when trend intersects with color.

    Excellent comparisons of these colors. My comparisons about seasonal blue greens are: Spring/These blue greens need to have pigment and no neutral grays as it will tend to wash out the skin. Summer/These blue greens need to have neutral gray in them as without it the color will seem to overpower the skin and look SEPARATED. Autumn/The blue greens here need to have WARMTH but also some type of GRAY to BLEND with the softness of the skin. Winter/These blue greens here are very CRYSTAL like deep gems or bright ice with NO gray to enhance the COOLNESS of the skin.

    I also love the look at blue-greens. I think this is a color family where the details make such a difference. If you put a gold zipper or chain with blue-green it’s enough to turn it warm. If you put silver with the same color, it cools it off. It’s like the blue-greens cast a reinforcing vote to the leading family. If there are too many competing details (like a gold zipper and plum lipstick) the blue-green gets confused and just looks off. A color family that is very agreeable but not always easy to pin down.
    Like on the top with the gold zipper- I am 100% convinced that if the zipper was silver, the plum lipstick would work and soft summer would rock it with a gray skirt or dusty mauve cords. And if the top were slate, that gold zipper wouldn’t be enough to eliminate soft summer.
    Same principle with the silver-chain necklace. If it had a gold chain, the teal would fall meekly into place in soft autumn.

    I was wondering, if you should adjust colors of outfit or makeup , if you know say the lighting is in like an old theater. If the lighting is low and very warm due to gold ceilings and sconce lighting. I am a deep autumn and I’d be asking for all seasons but mainly deep autumn. If having a selfie or photographs should you dress in a palette outside of season or to just adjust to known light? I like going to concerts at the same place so I am curious what colors of clothing and makeup will be beautiful with that type of light on my skin and how you work with it all within color choices. Even being outside and getting a picture looks so much warmer than I feel I look. Just wondering how to use this color theory and seasons even more.

    • @ChristineScaman
      @ChristineScaman  27 днів тому

      You ask a great question but I'm not sure I know the answer. I would find that complicated and hard to predict. Also, your own colouring is affected by the lighting, as you say, so the colours you wear should react in similar ways to keep the overall look consistent.

    If someone looks very bad in black, is that exclude winter season at all?

    • @ChristineScaman
      @ChristineScaman  25 днів тому +1

      No, I wouldn't say that. It's too big a step for just one colour and it depends on the observations led to the decision that black doesn't work for the person. In the colour analysis system I use (called Sci\ART), there are 5 Seasons with varying degrees of Winter influence and any of those, or the other Season types, might not do as well in black as other colours.

    I have been working on creating outfits using just Deep autumn or close to it. It’s hard to get the level right but I’m wondering why In what assume are my lighter end of my colors being mid tone. I was playing with olives but it happens in reds, burnt orange. What happens is I look at it in mirror or in photo and look like a Disney character or animated . Does that mean I’m closer or that is the color if you were animated because those colors are chosen to be working in that form of art and very much go together. I did find I was just a touch to saturated and the next color down too the costume look down. Which is really the correct look when right? I guess it was difference between leaf green paired with warm browns verses a medium olive green that is a touch more yellow and lighter but slightly. I did red hoody with a light blue at Halloween to resemble Annie and it gave that same effect. What is causing that illustrative look . Is it just a saturation of colors ? I am a deep autumn. How do find the right depth where should we use photos in grayscale to find the right depth and what part of out face eyes or hair are best to finding the depth or saturation of our clothing. I work in a daycare so occasionally looking like Disney princess or Disney cartoon is ok but I need to just know is that meaning in terms of color theory I am close to the needed palette?

    • @ChristineScaman
      @ChristineScaman  23 дні тому

      It sounds as though the colours may be too bright, like an Autumn person wearing Spring colours. When we wear our own colours, descriptions or analogies like "Disney princess' usually don't happen, we just look healthy and normal. Sometimes, creating a holistic image works better by having a big picture in mind rather than focussing on the details of single colours. The sense of beach colours, spice market, summer meadow, New Year's Eve party, that apply to our Season can point to colours that don't quite belong. Many people find that the e-book (link in Desc box) can give them a new way of evaluating colours, as if they were making a painting of themselves in their clothing. Dark Autumn might think of Moroccan interiors, for example.

    • @kayannaottaway3381
      @kayannaottaway3381 22 дні тому +1

      @@ChristineScaman i’d love to actually be in a Moroccan interior these days. I am very much finding myself in the deep autumn palette. Today I needed to wear lavender top though and after a wearing colors fully in palette for a few weeks , it looked off and felt off. How light should dark autumn go before it seems off? I find your videos helpful but still trying to find the right shades and combo of colors is tricky. The soft was the part that still fit in this top and the graphic has a golden yellow and reds in it. How light as well? I’m feeling so out of season being it is summer so what to wear as deep autumn in summer . 70s vibes or road-trip in the desert vibe . It’s really fun playing though with all the colors. If I get the painting right though , I’d be excited to get to really play around.

    • @ChristineScaman
      @ChristineScaman  21 день тому +1

      The lightest colours is actually a great idea for a video, I wonder if I can find images. Thank you for the insight! Light to dark level is the colour dimension that we're fairly good at judging when we have a comparison colour. If you stay within your colour palette, you should be quite OK. It does take time to play with colour combinations. I like starting with one or two neutrals and adding a colour from there, thankfully Autumns have many neutrals and look so beautiful when they wear them.

    • @kayannaottaway3381
      @kayannaottaway3381 21 день тому +1

      @@ChristineScaman I think it’d help to really understand when it goes to light or dark. I think I’m pretty good at seeing autumn tones . The levels on colors or even the neutral but I like using the color combos that are just fun. As I said it’s daycare not something stiff. But what are the lightest colors for deep autumn and not just the neutrals and is it then as deep as your darkest feature or go as dark without being black. I don’t know how to dress for summer as an autumn and not give full fall vibes . I’ve had a lot of compliments lately as I’ve been brave to explore this palette this month has been very on purpose to only wear fall colors. Except yesterday I had to mix light lavender with them for my sisters birthday and it felt unbalanced though pretty . It was a summer season color. But what are summer colors not just color but combos or layers to get summer vibes but in palette. Fall is coming soon so I’ll be full in it. I just want to continue to paint my palette correctly. I want to keep learning. I also wonder how I can create balance for my kids looking at me in a very bright yellow room with a lot of some light cyan decor though eventually it will be fall in there too. It has a quite a bit of primary colors, along with beige/tan woods . As they have to see me all day maybe taking that into account sometimes might be good. So how do I work within a primary palette as an autumn to be in harmony with my backdrop? It’s not important but I’m just curious , if there is a way. What season are the primary or kid colors in, anyway? I can tell by compliments that the deep colors grab the attention. I feel the autumn colors also are posits. I do wonder though with a t shirt that if not in bright room or outside isn’t reflecting light looks ok but taking image outside or just in more light makes it cast on my skin in direct color. I guess the question is how bright can a color be not just how light it should be. How you can determine the right levels is really the part for me. Is there something in a grayscale or something that you can gage depth of color against. How light can you go to still be deep . I want to draw focus to my eyes and mouth but also my hands. So my top and possibly makeup/nail color, is really the most important consideration. I’m teaching phonics and asl , so I think mouth even more than eyes. I want the kids to see a fun teacher but to dress to look like I should respected and listened to. That there is wisdom and not just sloppy or silly color choice. I want to be purposeful. You did a video of a person that wore an autumn palette. They had a velvet teal coat and a yellow or orange pants and just gorgeous skintone in the image. I want to pair colors to be more worldly or rustic as well. I love how other cultures pair colors so different and the colors seem different. I want to look that stunning in my palette . Just all colors I wear create that harmony but intriguing at the same time. Right now I just have t shirts and many colors jeans and colored denim jackets. I do love rit dye projects though too. I want my full palette in a denim jacket eventually. I want to learn though how to pair textures and what to look for in cheap clothing that can make me exude an other worldly but also black roots, folk, protest , country music vibes . Look well travelled.Both my birth parents were Sagittarius and I have a stellium in Sagittarius so maybe it’s that side. I am a triple Pisces though (sun, moon and Jupiter) and Leo rising which is fall vibes too. I’m not sure where these colors will vibe with Pisces but I’ll find that maybe in the teals. I’m glad it’s an earthy palette because I need some groundedness for sure. Dreamers in Pisces , flowy but earthy internal fire . I love embers so I think of that and the glow off the earth. I want that. In me. I need a creekside campfire vibe maybe. I’m an overcomer and strong . I want that to be reflected too. I don’t know how to style things, color is fun but looking like pumpkin isn’t the best look either.
