- half an hour of there concert in Amsterdam Jaap Edenhal. I was there, and my Facebook friend Frans was there too, who made this video, witch I received years later. I had added some individual songs on my channel. But now the whole concert is online. The songs you can listen to are:
Send me a Postcard
Long and lonesome road
Somebody to Love
Venus
The Jury and the Judge (primeur)
Hot Sand
Inkpot
Because the Night.
Mariska Veres. Robbie van Leeuwen, Wim Voermans and Jan Pijnenburg.
For me, Shocking Blue had there best times in the 80's, at least performing live on stage.
What a voice!!..
Thanks for uploading this 🙏🏻
Great to see the whole gig now !. And what a great voice she still had.
incredible, that rare record! Thanks for posting!
Congrats from Brasil ‼️👍🏻😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you, this is a nice video.
Such a shame it wasn't professionally done ..A full filmed concert from 1968 - 74 would be a dream come true . Great band 👍❤️
Thanks a lot for a perfect concert,i love it!!! Blessings!!!
Impeccable timing and pitch!
Was incredibly popular in USSR . In ten more years they would have made millions in just this country. Incredible gypsy voice. First love of many USSR teenagers.
CHERNOBYL DAY! :-(
20 years to death from cancer.
@@АнатолійДемаш how sad this wonderful lady died.
To Vitali Goji. Greetings from London. I watch videos from around the world on UA-cam on the internet. And I KNOW Russians LOVE music!

damn right.
Unimaginably, my father was one of the USSR volunteers who liquidated that accident at the nuclear power plant. It is unimaginable that somewhere in Europe that day people were also enjoying life. For all of Europe and the USSR it was an ordinary spring day. But humanity learns from such mistakes. You need to fall many times in order to walk confidently.
Was at school that dat and it was a shock in the while Netherlands i think. Born on the other side of a river near a nuclear power plant in the province Zeeland...
Thanks a lot!
Грандиозный саунд!!
Wat een stem!!!
This reunion was just before Mariska formed her HardRock band ,,Veres,, in 87
To Hanzey - I am going to look for her band V E R E S on the internet!
Cool 😎
So stunning!
I wish the sound was better
Never knew they covered Because the Night.
Lisa Cadiz from Nygel Miller. Yes, they have even covered Somebody To Love , by Jefferson Airplane! I was just thinking that Shocking Blues singer, Mariska Veres sounded like Jefferson's Grace Slick! How Great would it be, to have a festival where BOTH bands appeared? !
Aren't they talented LIVE?!
@@nygelmiller5293 That would have been a great show, too bad Mariska isn't around anymore.
@@nygelmiller5293 absolutely!
I had the 45 when it came out. I was in fifth grade. There was another kid that loved music too and we used to listen to it all the time. Never saw a picture of her or anything. By the time I saw her on UA-cam she had already passed.
I fell in love with a dead woman.🧟🤕
Mariska Veres was make an cover by jefferson airplane?? Amazing!!
Somebody to love!!
👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
♥️💯🎶🎤🎼
How fantastic it would have been if M A R I S K A V E R E S and G R A C E S L I C K could have sung together!
Somebody to Love8:10❤️.
Venus at 11:25😎.
Mariska still looked good and had that strong voice at that time💃🤩. Thank you for showing this video
I didn't think they were a real band ,I only heard one song
Amazing.
OMG!! It's great to see more footage of Mariska & the band performing live - and what a surprise extension of Venus! As always, thank you for sharing these rare & wonderful moments with the rest of us.
In spite of the sound of the recording, her voice still comes through with her energy & power undiminished from 16+ years before. I always thought she could do a killer version - maybe better - of "Someone to Love" than the original. This definitely proves me correct! Of course another pleasant surprise here is "Because the Night" ...another song that sounds like it could have been "hers" under different circumstances.
Of course, I wish the sound & video was of better quality but I'm so thankful for this and other continued glimpses of their life & career. Also, it absolutely kills me that by 1986 I was old enough to have seen Mariska live, but never did. If only they were better accepted in the US so they could have toured more & later here. The Netherlands & Europe were so lucky to have her to themselves! 💝
To Dan Hilbert from Nygel Miller. Although the tone on this recording is not perfect, the accoustic of the venue is however really atmospheric!
But in its own way, coming from a musicians view, this raw version is relished and admired, untouched by studio knobs.
First time I saw this one.
I love it.!!!
@@lt2339 There is nothing like hearing live music in it's true natural form, especially before the digital era.
I've been searching deeply for more live/extended versions of this quite underrated Dutch band. Finally! The music they made together is absolutely mesmerizing! To be able to enjoy this on my own time whenever time suits me is priceless. To see and hear Mariska and the band deliver their music as intended is so very gratifying. Thank you, for posting!
