  • I actually have made a video of this fan running in its intended direction prior to installing it in my paint booth, but I felt like the lighting in that video is quite terrible, so here we are.
This is a Lion brand exhaust fan that I bought from a seller in Waru market several years ago. This fan had metal extension brackets already welded on, the motor brackets were bent up resulting in the motor & blade not sitting straight, the whole thing was painted silver and it was set to run on reverse. Apparently this fan was used for a week in a mosque before they decided to sell it due to how loud it is. I ran this fan as is for quite some time, before deciding to rework the curvature of the blades to make it more efficient at pulling air, which is why you might notice the blades looking a bit weird.
I’ve stated countless times that the D blade exhaust fan is among my most favorite type of fans, and that is the reason why I have that blue 16” unit I briefly showed near the ending of this video, but I don’t have any regrets in using this fan as a paint booth exhaust fan & treating it quite poorly. Sometimes you need to sacrifice something you like very much in order to make other things better, and that’s the case with this particular fan!

That’s one mean looking fan! It seems like the right fan for the right job though. One thing is for sure, it’s never going to rust out with all the fresh coats of paint it constantly gets lol.

It really is. I used to be really scared of these things as a small kid because of their loudness & muscular looks. Funny story, before I put a screen in front of this fan, it once sucked a piece of sheet iron while it was running & chipped the paint. I didn’t paint anything for a few months & that chip started growing into rust. When I made my multiple ArtinAir ceiling fans, the overspray built up quite a lot on the fan blade & fully covered the rust haha

Exhaust fan model kaya gini saya sering lihat di gudang-gudang seperti dulu saya lihat di gudang sembako gitu milik saudara saya, suaranya cukup menyeramkan apalagi kondisi gudang saat sepi 😂

I wonder why fan companys use such poor blade angles (not this fan), is it like easier to produce?

I’m honestly not sure whether they’re trying to cheap out or have no clue on good aerodynamics
