This is the first episode of the Weekend Classes with me and I am genuinely so stoked to be talking about the most prestigious schools and my Alma mater, NIFT and how I got into NIFT. Over the last few years I’ve been asked over and over again about the procedures, preparations etc and I FINALLY decided to film and address to a larger audience: you guys! ❤️ I hope the youth benefits from it and as Amma says, if even one of you benefit from it, my job is done!

I posted it when I was in 11th, after 2 yrs of hardwork, guys I got into NID Ahemdabad, their question paper didn't even had difficult maths which is btw not even needed in this field !

Thank you Shivangi for sharing all your experience so that we can benefit in some way... Your sharing experience makes me confident for appearing next year 2020. Just finished my HSC 12 exam and didn't know what to do in future... And i hate maths most of all. Fashion designing is what I wanted to do since I was young I'm always interested in dressing, styling, fashion these are my hobbies. I'm really really grateful for your advice... Please keep on posting and upgrade us and motivate us so that we also can achieve someday. ❤️

I had applied a year back for nift but didn’t get the course( fashion communication) I wanted so I applied again this year. Last year I didn’t study at all for CAT &GAT but this time I took coaching and from my side I did pretty well but sometimes I do get negative thoughts but today I saw one of your video in the evening and I have honestly watched a lot of videos cause they are exactly what I want rn. Anamika Ghosh I haven’t pursued a masters course so it would be unfair if I give out just written information. I’d suggest you read through the admission criteria and exam format on their website! There’s a PDF for it somewhere and it is really very detailed. Hope this helps :)

From my school days I'm very into the drawing, sketching and painting like stuffs.and one day I accidentally saw fashion ramp on TV and after that day I started making sketching of outfits seeing all the magazines etc .but now IAM doing my bachelor's degree .so is it possible for me to still go for the nift along wd my degree?

Actually this year I am going to write nift. But when I asked some of my neighbours about nift they told me that after selecting in nift we have to buy materials which are too costly and a person from middle class background can't pursue it. hey Shivangi mam ! as m in 11th standard that means in the year 2020 m going to appear for my 12th class board examination in the month of march. and as you said in this video that nift enterance exam is held in the month of Jan or Feb every year ,then that means i will not able to give enterance exam of nift or I have to wait for the next enterance exam i mean a whole year i do need to wait ? Hey! I loved your video. I just wanted to ask a few questions....So here's it...
I'm in 12th I have taken Science with the subjects PCM ...though I wasn't interested in it...anyway..that was a bad decision. I have always been into art and stuff and creative things too but never got proper guidance to polish my skills. So last year, when I was in 11th, my interest for Fashion and art started developing again...and I am really, really passionate about it. I do art sometimes and also have bought the guide book for NIFT by Arihant publications. But with this pressure of science and 12th boards I'm not getting enough time to prepare for the entrance exams.. I study for GAT regularly but for CAT... I'm kind of nervous about it as it's just 6 months left and there's a lot to explore and study..
So can you please give me some tips on how to prepare for CAT so that I could crack NIFT next year..?

Start with basic sketches. Take up newspaper images of events and sketch things in perspective. That’s a start. Work on your lines and circles. That’s gonna help too. Work on getting a free movement of hand first :)

abhirami CL It actually depends on how you’d perceive it. If you’d like to depict sadness. You could start with black grids in the centre and move towards greys and blues as you move out symbolising darkness or sadness on the inside. Again for anger, I’d say an ombré of something which looks like fire would give out an angry emotion. Hope this helps.

How was the exam? I just entered 11th standard...in Science PCM stream..... Preparing for JEE of course, but being a Fashion Designer excites me... That's Y I'll prepare for NiFt too!!! Benedicta Liza Drawing isn’t essential if you are creative, that works. But to clear any good Design college exam, you need to be atleast decent at it (:

I was wondering if you could help me with something though. How do you solve those questions that ask you to depict emotions using a grid? Do you just fill in the little squares with different colors? Or do you have to design a pattern using the grid? I've been seeing this type of question in every sample paper i try, and tbh it's kinda confusing :')
