Turning A Drawer into an Ottoman

Repurposing an old drawer. Jeanette and I turn an old drawer we found on the side of the road into an ottoman. Paint was Popular Grey from Sherwin Williams. Stain is Varathane Carbon Grey.

I thought about that but wasn't sure about the stability of the drawer sides. I didn't know if they would handle the weight of a cushioned top. Yours work fine?

I noticed when you were using the brad nailer, one nail blew out the side - if you turned your brad nailer around so it’s at a 90% angle to what you’re nailing, this will most of the time prevent blow out. The nails generally blow out left or right to the nail gun head.

Loved your idea with this and it came right on time because I was doing my girls room over and was in the process of getting rid of furniture in there room. I would like to try this, but I am thinking of using stakes of home Depot card bard instead of the wood because I don't have a nice space like you guys have to create my projects.
