... Absolutely beautiful..the highland ride..certainly another " ONE track wonder " where 67 007 makes its way through the mystic mountains..and the middle of nowhere...I did this ride back in the late 80's..on a 37/4..certainly a great ride..!!!.
I'm doing my 1st ALR later this year (first time doing one and first class). I've got my Fort William sleeper booked. I'm doing the line to Mallaig from there. I can't wait any longer!
Awesome job. I've been on this train twice and can't wait to get back over there. My 15 year old daughter's grandmother on her mom's side is from Ft. William area and I want to take her to the land of her heritage. Thanks so much. I know this was a lot of work.
Thank you for making this gorgeous video. It's definitely got me pumped for my West Highland Line trip this spring! Great filming and spectacular views. My favourite part starts around 35:00; around 36:30 they would find me hanging over the side of train screaming, "I'm going to Hogwarts!"
I do enjoy this video of The Caledonian Sleeper from 21.15 from London Euston to Fort William The West Highland Line up West Coast mainline via Crewe and Preston or Edinburgh, also years ago it's used to be via East Coast mainline as well did from London King's Cross and Aberdeen and Fort William and Mallaig The West Highland Line too via Doncaster, York, Durham, Darlington, Newcastle, Berwick upon Tweed, Haymarket and Edinburgh as they split at the station at Edinburgh Waverley station for Aberdeen portion and the Fort William portion as well and I wish to bring back both of them The Caledonian Sleeper from/to London King's Cross or from/to Aberdeen or Fort William The West Highland Line sleepers via East Coast main line for the future hope on the electrification for Aberdeen and Fort William in 10 years time 2024 or 2025 would return them. Thank you for watching this video for interesting and enjoy it. Michael D'Ambrogio.
Great Video, I know the part very well especially from Westerton to Helensburgh, there seems to be a aeroplane trying to race you on the low right hand part of the screen.!!
I wish we had this kind of travel here in the U.S. It's just so much nicer. Now if they could make it so the wind doesn't make so much noise in the microphone, it'd be great. Just another thought. I thought there was something wrong with my computer or the video, because the sound kept going out. Now I realize you cut it out or muted it. Could you tell me why you do that?
Yes. A day carriage or 2, get added on at Edinburgh Waverley station to the "down" train, heading TO Fort William when it arrives FROM London. From London Euston TO Edinburgh Waverley, I believe you travel in the seated carriage for Aberdeen. At Edinburgh Waverley, you get out of the Aberdeen carriage onto the platform, then into the seated carriage FOR Fort William, AFTER the uncoupling of the various sections of the "Highland sleeper" has been carried out, & coupling up of the through, day carriage has been carried out. The West Highland Line is not electrified so requires a diesel engine to power it to its destination also.
We are going to scotland next year in August. Do you get to see most of scotland or the highlands in daylight?? We'll be going in summer holidays? Its either that or drive and I'd be stopping at every end to take photos ;)
Well done, great to watch - makes me want to book another trip tomorrow! Sorry you didn't get better weather and hope you didn't get too much grief from fellow passengers for having window open all the time. You must have been a long way out for some of the shots! Got all the very best bits. Do you know about Friends of the West Highland Lines - they have a website which I can't publish! Have you seen b&w video on youtube? ua-cam.com/video/ZHhL3xBXJFg/v-deo.htmla
Even despite the sound, I wish you'd keep it on, because I love to ride my stationery bike while the video's going. It lets me work out in a different way. It's really boring without the sound, and even worse when you here that dreadful thudding music in the gym, so I stay at home. Besides, it's a great way to "travel" virtually. Hope you don't mind.

+Alan Morr I now know why there is a plane on the low right part, I love your plane tours as well, that's what I like best as well, trains and planes.

What would happen if you booked a standard seat ticket from London Euston to fort William? Do you change trains?

Nope, it starts from Euston & up the West Coast Mainline.
Was that the same sleeping car all the way from Euston?
Does this go up the east coast main line?

Awsome vid well worth the watch but isnt it a waste getting a cabin and filming instead of seating fare. Keep up the good work
The weather can be a bit better in Scotland occasionally
