Honestly I’d love to see you work on one of those V12’s to remove the fuel injection and install the twin 4 barrels and actually enjoy the JAAAAAG V12 experience. The only downfall of the XJS in my opinion is the 3 speed automatic held back those V12’s a lot. But when you remove that nightmare of fuel injection and let that engine breathe they sound fantastic and make decent power.
I do not think the rusted out Jag is worth fooling with anymore, I think you got 4 wheels and a very entertaining video out of it. You son is just amazing!
I had one of these as a daily driver that I drove to Nashville from Kentucky twice a week with no problem and acceptable mileage. Slow as heck on take off, but the most comfortable (and quiet!) car I've ever owned. They have a GM turbo 400 & a low geared turbo 200-with OD-is a direct bolt in. I totally gutted the exhaust & used Dynamax mufflers and added a custom 3 core radiator. Very nice (cheap) improvements! I added custom rims, a Grant GT steering wheel (because the factory one is HUGE-but a Pull And Pay XJ6 wheel is nice-as are the rims) & a power sunroof. Top 4 favorite car. Until the timing chain snaps.....
Worth it just for the belt buckle 👍 Got to do something with the V12 engine its to cool to end up in a scrapyard, maybe a coffee table or perhaps some lawn art 😅

Great video as always. I'm pretty sure D is "delay" on the stalk (i.e. intermittent). Also if you put the manifolds on for 4 single barrel carbs (like all the factory pre-injection V12s) you can shut the bonnet with air cleaners on. You did well to get it going.
I enjoy watching your variety of projects. I too have "enjoyed" the ownership of the xjs-V12. I understand this one is too far gone to feasibly rebuild. But, if your looking to use the engine in another project and need help figuring it out, I recommend the channel "living with a classic." Your LTD is magnificent! My first car was a '73 with the big block 400. Light custard yellow with a dark green interior. It was a good thing that my dad owned a gas station. Turns out that the water pump was leaking and the the right side head gasket and intake manifold gasket failed then it stuck the thermostat and cracked the head on the Dr side what a waste of a great strong running roller cam Oldsmobile 307 V8 had 139,781 miles

Nice to see they hold their value. 20 years ago in high school, i got a green 1979 XJ12 and paid $500. It was beautiful, with all the michigan salt rust. But we had fun with it. It had the iconic round headlights.
I worked for a Jag dealer in the 1980's in the service dept. The XJS's were a nightmare to deal with. But when they were running good, it was the smoothest running car of it's time.
Oh no Dalton, you let out all the factory smoke. JD definitely is learning so much by working with you. He will be far ahead of most of his age group. Grind Hard Plumbing channel took one of these and made a custom intake and mounted 2 four barrel carbs on top. They ran it off-road in the Gambler 500. You gotta love those Fred Flintstone floorboards. LOL

But, if your looking to use the engine in another project and need help figuring it out, I recommend the channel "living with a classic." I've used the incite from his videos to get my old Jaaag purring. Keep up the good work.
Love this, you went so much further than I wouldve, JD is such a good sidekick and cameraman, hope me and my son are able to tinker with things and have fun someday as well.
The twin four barrel intake sounds interesting. Would love to see this engine running correctly and see the shenanigans you get up to with it. 😂
Kevin, at junkyard diggs introduced me to your channel. I am absolutely loving your channel. I have gone back to the beginning and started watching from episode one. You’re hilarious. Keep up the great work. I suspect your channel will blow up soon.
yup. me finding him was Kevin's fault too.
Same
I'd like to see the real jag, the one with the v8 swap, turbo charged. Hood scoop would be cool too!
Your LTD is magnificent! My first car was a '73 with the big block 400. Light custard yellow with a dark green interior. It was a good thing that my dad owned a gas station. It ran great until my brother borrowed it and decided to ignore the oil light. I also enjoyed your interactions with your son. My son is 16 and working on an '84 VW diesel rabbit.
Dalton, I spotted a green XJS in a driveway on Lamar 8400 block in Overland Park. Not sure if it’s for sale but you’d like the guy, a city version of you, driveway full of cars
Greetings from Britain love the Jag content! These v12s are actually decent engines if set up right and they can sound amazing i think you should do something with it for motivation see Harry Metcalfs XJC on UA-cam
I'm pretty sure we'll find a good place for that v12 in the future.
Wow Transmission was Rebuilt and Barley has any use on it and it was rebuilt in 2007 wow only 7k miles that is impressive very nice records from orginal owner Dalton @Pole Barn Garage
I am blown away what you did was almost impossible to get a fuel injection car running when all the wires were disconnected !!! You done good!!!!
I say, "GO FOR IT!!!". DO SOMETHING WITH THE V12 FOR SURE, now that would be cool. Thanks for having JD on the video, he's a cool kid. A Father did a great job!!!
I've never seen an engine put off a fog like that.
Cool to see it running.
I have oldsmobile 307 roller cam V8 gm medium grey metallic and bright red pinstripe grey half roof vinyl top car not factory..., 1986 Buick Regal Factory V8 Sport Coupe Equipped with the Factory Rear Sway Bar and 2.73 Rear gearing in the Eaton Gm 10 bolt one wheeler peeler rear, anyways it stuck the thermostat and was driven 120 miles heading toward where I worked night shift when it happened and mid August was 93 degrees in 99 at 11:45pm blew the top radiator hoses and the bottom radiator one, and broke the inlet of the radiator loose when the top radiator hose blew, and the water pump stopped turning and fed the alternator belt to the fan,so the car even after it was shut off disappeared in the front all the way to the middle of the doors while I waited for it to cool down enough to get it out of the middle of the intersection of the two main highways..
Turns out that the water pump was leaking and the the right side head gasket and intake manifold gasket failed then it stuck the thermostat and cracked the head on the Dr side what a waste of a great strong running roller cam Oldsmobile 307 V8 had 139,781 miles
This is the beginnings of a Jaaaag Collection
Edit: The jag kart is perfect
Loving Pole Jag Garage. I'm in for more Jaaaag jokes and fires. Safely, of course.
Uhh "safe"
I'm 48 years old, been watching UA-cam from the day it started, and this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen, because it's a Jag. Having worked on those vehicles people that buy them are wealthy and very uneducated.
Thanks for working on a V12!!! We never see enough of them out there, dude 😎 👍, a V12, so cool!!!
Think it'd be awesome to see the duel carb setup
I think you have a plugged cat converter but if you can get that intake I'd start planning a motor swap for something
I'm gonna cut the exhaust off and see what happens..
@@PoleBarnGarageobviously
A JAG cart would be awesome! I'm eJAGulated over this idea!
Oh no 😂
@@PoleBarnGarage 🤣🤣
You did well to get it running. Can't beat a ropey old Jag
Id love to see the v-12 jag all carburetored up... be fun to see Kevin's face pulling up in that
Haha this is why I love this channel so much! Awesome randomness! Yeah let’s see a turbo on 1.0 and keep 2.0 around for something fun…JD is always a star! Great work gentlemen
You guys are great, I enjoy watching your videos. I’m restoring my 69 camaro and I watch a lot of your videos to do a lot of work on my car, You and your son do great work and keep it up. I look forward every week to see your videos. Right now I’m in the process of block sanding my car and your truck video you put out last week was full of great info. Keep it up and screw all the haters out there, let them judge watch something else.
I would have thought that with so much fire being generated throughout this video that fixing the drivers door would have been priority number one!
That would require common sense
“I thought you said no fire extinguisher?”
“FUCK IT!”
I’m dead. Lol
16:28 Internal combustion conversion kit to external combustion engine. I'd definitely like to see the carburated V12! And a vinyl wrap of Jag 1.0.
Fantastic. Should be pretty cool to see you get the jag fixed and running. Keep up the great work
Awesome stuff partner. The stories JD will have as he gets older. Priceless.
Nice to see they hold their value. 20 years ago in high school, i got a green 1979 XJ12 and paid $500. It was beautiful, with all the michigan salt rust. But we had fun with it. It had the iconic round headlights.
JD is an awesome cameraman! He got your reactions perfectly when you were trying to restart the Jaaagg!! 😅😅
I worked for a Jag dealer in the 1980's in the service dept. The XJS's were a nightmare to deal with. But when they were running good, it was the smoothest running car of it's time.
That slow zoom at 32:44 ... *chef's kiss*
Thanks for a cool morning watching you guys👍🏻Good job JD!😊👍🏻
The noise of a V12 is unreal when it works. Stick with it. Strong old motor 😎👍
LOL
Awesome filming lil dude! Thanks for teaching your son about cars, it was by far some of the most memorable stuff that I did with my dad. :)
My old Boss had a fairly lively tuned and track set up on his classic XJS he used as a daily and raced at the weekends, That old boat went like stink and sounded amazing.
Glad you're at home working on this one with your son!
I appreciate the auto subtitles translate engine noise to Music and the starter noise to applause.
Yes, I'd like to see you turn that f.i v12 to carburators.
