[* Since November 2020, I have been commissioned by Amouage to complete various projects, some of which have had a bearing on the scents released by the brand from 2021 onwards. At the time of writing this note, my intention is to continue mentioning and reviewing all Amouage scents released up to the end of 2020, except in posts/articles where perfumes from several brands are included and presented as part of a selection/collection.]

Well.. Rauque came back into stock at LuckyScent. Consider me influenced. I blind bought it based on your reaction alone. Ok, that's not entirely fair, I also love Christopher Sheldrake. I just sold a few scents I haven't worn in a while so the money was more of a shift than a spend. :)
I really, really hope you like it.
Completely agree about the Vanilla Powder, personally I couldn't get past the first hour, how did you find their French Flower (tuberose)?
I can’t remember, but I think the only one I liked was the neroli.
Where do you buy your myrrh?
I don’t have a specific place. My latest stash is from Vienna.
@@Persolaise Any brands you're especially fond of?
@@gunnar368 Honestly, I've never stuck to any particular brand.
Rauque its so good! For me its more feminine. Best of the year.
It’s really gorgeous.
That was along list, covered really efficiently. I had somehow assumed that Andrea Maack created her own fragrance formulations but I checked after watching this video and turns out my assumption was just that - an assumption. Really curious now about the artists behind her fragrances. She has credited everyone else though - including the designer for her bottles.
I’m pretty certain she’s not the perfumer.
Thanks for watching.
Rauque is stunning, I got a derby, old masvuline vibe, but theres a beautiful floral. I wrote about it for CaFleureBon.
Yes! Definitely something Derby-esque.
Mr P., I literally had two minutes to tune in to the live and that was when I wrote I love Ouranon. I had to watch the recording, which is also fine by me. I'm so glad you liked Ouranon too! Especially since you don't seem to enjoy the rest of that line. I don't either. But I'm going to go for a full bottle of Ouranon, which is a dry, aromatic incense to my taste.
Now I also totally agree with you on Matière Première. Sad in a way since the Piguets are really interesting.
Thank you for your great reviews! Thank you also for giving me a wonderful opportunity to maintain my English!!!
I definitely need to revisit Ouranon. Thanks for watching.
Completely on the same page as you regarding Mizensir. The structure of the perfume (musks, woody, dry amber materials) is immediately apparent and present in the background, lightly colored so to speak by the rest of the materials. There is no real development and they don't reach the heights of any of Grojsman's monolithic creations because those still managed to have complexity and contrasts. They also seem to straddle territory that is neither natural nor highly imaginative.
I agree with you that the Grojsman comparison only takes us so far. For instance, none of these is a Paris or Eternity or Tresor.
As always, thanks for watching.
You know I wore Coromandel the other day after several days of wearing Rauque and I totally get the connection you noticed.
There's something in the deep dry down of Coromandel that was reminding me of Rauque to the point where I thought I was getting ghost wafts of Rauque or it was left on my clothes.
They are definitely two different fragrances, I'd never mistake one for the other, but cool to pickup something of the Sheldrake amber in both perfumes being created so many years apart.
Ah, fascinating. I love these sorts of connections.
Loving Ouranon - thank you for your insights. Surprisingly it lasts a long time. The drydown sometimes reminds me of an 80’s men’s Italian designer fragrance (in a good way). I’m with you on Matiere Premiere. I just don’t resonate with this house. I bought a few samples and their Santal Austral and Bois d’Ebene were awful. The simplicity of their package and their name do not align with the fragrances - to me they smell cheap.
I feel Ouranon is one to revisit.
Many thanks for watching.
I am completely on the plane of Philip. Your poetic descriptors are wonderful.
Thanks very much.
Looking forward to the scented Madonna playlist. JPG Classique! Hee hee hee.
Coven is great!
I wish there was a perfume that smelled just like a lavender field on a sunny day….
PS. Bois de Mysore from Mizensir is one that I love from that line…linear, yes, and also staying power.
PSS. Great color on you!!
And thank you.
Thanks very much indeed.
❤
Thanks for watching.
I actually tried Palissandre today, and I still can smell it(sort of) on my hand. What I personally got, was something reminiscent of Tom Ford's Black Orchid(a tad) mixed with patchouli and sandalwood.
I think that the idea behind the scent is good, but the execution just wasn't there. It felt like it lacks something. At £265 for 100ml it is simply a 'no, thanks!'
I agree - it feels a bit too mono-dimensional.
Thanks for watching.
Aw shucks! I missed it! Thank you Mr. P for the mention ☺️ Looking forward to Madonna! 😀😀😀😀👏👏🙌🙌🙌
Oh! What a great idea for Christmas Mr. P! I shall credit you with the inspiration! I’m going to buy some Hojai frankincense and some myrrh to burn over the holiday season 😀 🙏🙏🙏
Really?!?! Woody Amber for vanilla powder? Palo santo? Huh. What perfume would you recommend for the term “vanilla powder”? Perhaps Shalimar Tonka?
Rauque sounds great tbh 😀
I am SO nervous about the Madonna video 😂
And I am very tempted to buy Rauque.
@@Persolaise It’s going to be fabulous!
I loved your initial reactions when you tried Rauque, the hole conception of Roberto Greco is magnificent - bottles, packaging,scents..I wanted from the longest time to write you to try Oeilleres,to my nose one of the best works from Corticchiato, after that Porter sa Peau, narcissus-aldehydic beauty, and now Sheldrake(which I am yet to try)..hope that you soon will discover other good brand-Rubini,which have 4 perfumes from the the great young nose Cristiano Canali :)
Now I wish I'd ordered 2 vials.
Thanks for watching.
Le Labo Lavende feels like an afterthought. It's incredibly boring. I use to like a few from the house but I think they are too expensive for what they are. Their candles burn so badly.
I love Aesop's perfumes. Even those I personally don't care for, I enjoy on others.
Vanilla Powder is so loud and annoying. The name is misleading.
Aurélien Guichard use to do amazing perfumes but his own brand is a let down.
Andrea Maack is meh...never been tempted to buy any perfumes from her.
Yes, Lavande is most disappointing.
Thanks for watching.
Hello from Romania
Thanks for watching.
Hello Mr. Persolaise!
Hi there.
Thank you mr. Persolaise.
Of course you are invited to come to Ramsey's live stream.
Sultan Pasha will be his guest. We will learn new informations about his majestic attars.
Please, be our guest there.
See you....
That's very, very kind, but I was just teasing :-) I'd never want to gate-crash someone else's broadcast!
@@Persolaise
Of course not.
I mean, be our guest in the comment section on that day.
