Hopefully this just means theyre cooking something good. I hope only the best to come from this sequel. First one was a lot of fun, but had many a flaw. Them taking this much time on the movie just tells me they're trying to make the best movie they can.

I do not mind if Cole is back as long as he is not the main protagonist. If they are doing the tournament now, then I just hope they are giving the fights more of a martial arts focus.

Mortal Kombat 2 should've came out in August next year
I said the same thing we have nearly 17 months altogether to wait for this film ,if they are working non stop getting all the cgi,long epic fight scenes, editing and all that to be good and sorry it want be perfect but all that time, they can release a teaser by this August, a full trailer by November this year and take January thru May to perfect this and have it ready by mid to late August next year perfect timing if they don't get any more delays like more strikes or pandemics or anything else

Why so late? That’s ages away
I know some people liked that horror element in the 2021 movie. I’m a huge horror fan, but I hated this in the 2021 movie, because it was very much tonally out of place and made no sense; they wanted to give Sub-Zero a Jason Voorhees moment but couldn’t be bothered to write a decent screenplay or edit the fight scenes correctly-that’s stupid. As far as the release date goes, that’s over a year and a half after production wrapped (about a year and 3/4 to be more exact), which was back in January. To me, that doesn’t indicate that they’re taking their time to make the best possible version of the movie-if that was their concern, there are things in pre-production and production that they could’ve done and chose not to. Rather, this seems to indicate that they’re not very confident in the movie they shot, might be thinking of some damage control options, and are making time available for possible reshoots in anticipation of bad test screening results.

Since alot of fans are sold on this movie being released in October 2025 which is way to long ,i say let it be released in August 2025,we are almost in june,u still have 6 more months after that and todd and crew can still have January thru may to get it good enough for fans to enjoy it,it want be perfect no movie that i can think of was ever perfect good and exciting and a blockbuster yes but never perfect and we also have to keep in mind and let's be real the kind of world we live in not knowing if another pandemic might happen or another strike or anything can happen that may cause this movie to be delayed again once we get close to October of next year so to be happy and take all the time is not being realistic, yes the movie needs time to be better than the first but to wait til October of next year not knowing what might happen before than or who knows they may have other movies be released where mk2 may not even compete with those other movies, we all have to look at it from every perspective than just oh take all the time to make it perfect, than when it release than they will have parts of the movie where fans will say this or that could have been better or they could have left that out or this and that,just saying look at the what if instead of yeah thats cool take all the time,if this movie was that much of a big thing to get fans hype, where are the posters,the full reveal of costumes if not all some,where are any teaser trailers,show something if u want fans to look forward to really seeing this.if i get blocked for saying this im cool with it but just look at this long time wait realistically
