I can’t believe I just learned about Miyazaki‘s work, from a Sunday Read podcast of a New York Times magazine article. I’m 79 years old. We watched half of Spirited Away last night and look forward to watching the other half tonight. I’m grateful to know that there are more Miyazaki films to look forward to. Miyazaki reminds me that there are humans among us who are exponentially human, with so much creative power it’s unbelievable.

I wasn't going to watch it really. The movie cover looked boring and the summary was very basic. Could've just be told the important details from my friends. My english teacher suspect my unimpressed look and told me "you'll be very, very surprised". I gave him a strange look. All cartoon movies were the same. Why would this be any different?
