Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
If the Atmos track has weak use of the elevation speakers (height) then I wouldn't have given the sound an 8 even if everything else was doing well. Audio wise. Just like any 4k bluray MUAT have an Atmos or DTS X audio track. Otherwise it's just not worth getting on 4k. Might as well just save one's money. get the standard bluray or even the DVD just for the "entertainment value".
St ill think the Dark Knight 4k bluray movies should be released again but WITH a new Atmos track fitting of the trilogy. YES even if Nolan "never believed in the new surround formats" and chose to stick with standard bluray audio. Do a SE version...

While I love the movie, and the 4K HDR quality is perfect, this is a disappointing release for me due to the aspect ratio. I don’t understand why Disney could not preserve the original aspect ratio of the film, and vertical cropping is very noticeable. Otherwise, this is what a 4K HDR movie should look like!

So i hate that Disney did not do a Nolan or a Bay thing here, so Avengers Infinity War was shot on IMAX so why did they not use the IMAX transfer on the Normal Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray for the film, and let the dvd get the black bars. since both Nolan and Bay, all of their movies that was shot with some IMAX always use the IMAX version on Blu-ray and 4K.
You would still have had black bars as their IMAX was the faux-max/multi-plex IMAX ratio of 1.9:1, not the true IMAX 1.44 like Nolan did for scenes. But it would have been better than the 2.39.
Am i the only one thinking the digital 4k looks better, sharper and clearer than the 4k disc ?
I keep hearing mixed things. Yes vudu is convenient but isnt the image compressed since it is streamed a lot more then what it would be on a physical copy? I want to go all digital but I don't want to sacrafice image quality on any level
ANYTIME you watch a streamed digital version of the movie, you are sacrificing the image quality that you would get on a physical disc. We are not there yet when it comes to movie streaming and although its convenient and a good choice for many situations, its not the best quality to watch a movie that you want the absolute best fidelity to see.
I saw it on Vudu 4k Dolby Vision and looks amazing for a streaming for real man
you will have to put your face directly close to tv to notice the diffference, if you sitting at a normal viewing distance you won't be able to tell. plus your not gonna be getting the superior dolby vision version since the disc will only have HDR. disc is superior but its not night and day as long you have a stable connection that doesn't loose internet signal.

I saw it today, man it looks amazing on Vudu on 4k Dolby Vision in my Lg oled b8, the movie has a lot of bright colors with dark scenes that looks gorgeus specialy the galaxy

I thought it looked fantastic. I streamed from my LG B7 and from my Xbox One X. I definitely loved the look but the atmos was kind of blah. I usually stream at DD+. But i am excited to see and hear the quality once the disc is released.
bumpy baluga I have the same TV. How are you getting Atmos from the Xbox One X? I have that and Apple TV 4K and neither are giving me Atmos.
Spencer Parker for discs go to setting, blu ray, then decode. For sound go to settings, audio out put, then select bitstream, then dolby atmos for home theater.

Now if I’m correct the 4K Blu Ray won’t feature Dolby Vision HDR unlike the Vudu streaming service. Do you think the High Fidelity of the Blu Ray will make up for it ?

SpareChange I don’t know about that. What if the tv is an Oled? I think Dolby Digital streaming on an Oled looks better than the picture quality from a physical 4k UHD disc with hdr10 on my Oled.
AnyGivenSunday Podcast I understand the bandwidth numbers exceed by many. I’m just saying that I’ve switched from physical media to streaming media to compare the picture quality and the Dolby Vision streaming looks better than the physical media on my Oled. Unfortunately, I don’t have a 4k uhd player the does Dolby Vision. It only does HDR10. It could be because the nits are lower on an Oled compared to an uhd hdr 10 tv. so the luminance is not as bright. However, if I watch ultra hd disc on my Samsung TV the luminance is much brighter compared to my lg oled.
I have an OLED and I can assure you, NO digital stream will ever look better than the physical disc. Streaming is not there yet.

Physical Disc is always better than any streaming. Honestly, with how much they are downscaling these 4k movies, I am noticing so much noise and grainy areas that uncompressed HD is starting to look better than these downscaled 4k images. Don't get me wrong, 4K with HDR is still superior when its actually true 4K. Best example would be to watch the UHD Blu Ray of Planet Earth 2 which is still in my opinion, the best looking 4K video I have ever seen. Why? There are no VFX for one. Everything is shot and rendered in native 4k and there is no down sampling or anything. It sets the bar for 4K cinematography in my book.
Spencer Parker 100 percent agree, physical media is my favorite way to view (rip 3d Blu Ray) and I also notice that 4k streaming is more comparable to HD blu Ray than anything else. Thanks for the good work bro!
Avengers Infinity War is not available in 4K on iTunes Store so how are seeing that??
I was just asking because I have seen multiple movies go back and forth between 4K and HD on iTunes. As for Infinity War, I am waiting on the 4K steelbook to come in because Infinity War is one of the few titles I prefer to watch in its full fidelity. Don't get me wrong, I love streaming and the convenience but even with the greatest internet speed, streaming still does not have the full scope and fidelity that blu ray and UHD blu ray discs have. I'm still waiting on UHD blu rays of Titanic and Avatar but I suppose James Cameron wants to milk those releases over and over.........rant over.
I have the vudu app on my apply tv 4k and is only hd, and no atmos anybody knows why? I paid for the highest resolution in vudu
Did anybody else notice that Prime Video is sharper and clearer than Vudu 4K? I mean Prime has 4K but Infinity War ain't in 4K on Prime yet. But the picture is still 30 times better on Prime. Why is that? Why do Prime have a better picture than Vudu?

To better blend with VFX which are probably 2K.

I'm not an expert but this has not been an issue on other movies that had VFX rendered below 4K. Why is it an issue now?
Spencer Parker Because the whole movie was shot at 6.5K.
When you have an ultra Sharp Setting/Background with not so Sharp VFX, it tends to Stand out even more.
With a Movie like Avengers where it's Very VFX heavy. It needs to blend in perfectly and seamlessly. So, Having the whole movie at a 2KDI, the VFX will be as seamless as it can get.
This is by far the best Disney has done with 4K
