@@kascnef I have the PS3, after I got my 83" Samsung 4K TV, I put the 50" Vizio 3D TV in my bedroom. I've got all my movies on my Zappiti with help from R_volution. Can download 4k movies and will still play on non 4K TV.
Watched the movie in IMAX 3D with my beloved 7 yo nephew here in Egypt and we enjoyed it so much. Surrounds having lower volume is one of the issues with Disney's Atmouse mixes that have plagued us for years. This crap should stop.
So glad that I got notified today with this video. I immediately went to Amazon for preorder and luckily enough to snatch a copy of the 4K steel book with the Wolverine variant for 44.99 Canadian! Minutes later, it went up to 67.99! Now it’s completely sold out all preorders!

Felt the same way about the new Bad Boys audio. It was mostly front sound stage. When I did hear noises from any surround speaker it felt muted. Hope this trend doesn’t continue but I’m afraid mixes are being done with tv and iPad viewing more in mind than home theater
Just watched on the Strato V. Damn Shane your review was SPOT ON! Sounded and looked great. Definitely front heavy and I would have liked more from the surrounds but for a Disney release the Atmos and LFE was great. Thanks for taking the time to review these movies!!
Most people aren't going to have $5,000 Kolidescape. An digital review should use a atreaming device people would actually use. Like an Apple TV or Firestick. That will be more representative of whata a vast majority would actually be getting.
I can assure you nobody pays full retail on K-scape... nobody. At a minimum a 20% discount can be had. I know that's still vastly expensive compared to the other sources, but Apple TV Atmos mixes on their movies is based on a Dolby Digital Plus standard, which is a big difference compared to what's on the K-scape and 4K Blu-Ray options.
K-scape is representative of how the movie will be on 4k disc which is what Shane is reviewing and cleary states in the title as well as in the video itself. I see nothing wrong with it.
Preview shows an Ultra-HD 4K review only see a digital download 3840 × 2160 release being reviewed. Should probably not use a trademark logo for a product not reviewed ie disc only product.

You said your disc has a bright image with vibrant colors, but my disk is so dark that I had to turn my tvs brightness way up and the suits look very dull in some shots and not brightly colored at all. I feel like it might be something on my end and not the disc. I am watching the 4k disk in my ps5 and watching it on a 4k tv. I can’t figure out why it looks this way. Any suggestions?
All audio mixes can get in the bin until they give us a good Stereo mix, with clear voice track at all times, for the vast majority of people who just watch on a TV.
Bought it. I need the physical copy. Getting a digital copy loses the quality, plus it's just "renting" a license being sold as if you were "owning" it when they can take it away or edit it at any moment.

Couldn't agree with you more! One of the biggest offenders is when they incorporate rain sound effects into a movie... yet none of it coming from the height channels in an atmos mix, only the front sound stage. Such a simple thing, yet they miss it so much!

Unfortunately Nolan’s audio mixes suffer from pretty intense compression in post (not codec compression, but the actual use of compressors used in audio post production to control the loud and quiet sections), to the point where dynamics go out the window. Nolan’s mixes are just LOUD most of the time. Pretty sure the guy can’t hear that well.
It's 1.90:1 for IMAX 3D. When something breaks into the letterboxed area it fills the 1.90 space. It happened maybe 2 times for a split second. The Hugh Jackman skull screenshot in this video is one of those times. So it's not shot or intended for the full 1.90:1 aspect ratio.

It’s so wild to me how so many mega budget blockbuster movies look so cheap and awful these days. DvW might have the least impressive and inspired visuals of any studio movie I’ve seen all year (which is really saying something as so many of them have been terrible). The cinematographer who shot this movie is named George Richmond and after looking up his credits on IMDB, I think it would be best for the industry and the art form if he just quit working on movies all together.

Hi. I have a huge problem with how loosely the term Dolby Atmos is used. It would seem that the Dolby Atmos version on blu ray dvds is the same as the one on streaming services. Is this the case? Particularly with how audit is displayed on AVRs. I think it’s misleading
True story, I was house sitting back in July so I didn't get to see this in theaters. I plan to see it on Amazon, but I don't want the Wolverine Steelbook Edition for "Deadpool & Wolverine". I remember how crazy incredible the dolby cinema edition of "Deadpool" (2016) was. A game changer. Every time Wade Wilson sliced, shoot, punched, kicked, and something got blown up the seats vibrated. I own the 4k for the first two movies, but I haven't watched them because I plan to get the closet to a dolby setup for my home some day. To me, dolby is the ONLY way to watch the "Deadpool" trilogy at least in my book. So thanks for the review, Shane. And just curious, if not "D-Box", any thought on any kind of "D-Box"-like tech I could use to set up my dolby home theater?

I ened up seeing this in Dolby and an IMAX with 12 channels. The Atmos mix was much more dynamic, while the IMAX mix was much louder with a more aggressive bass response. I found it to be a bit too aggressive at moments and had pain in my ears duing certain moments. While I had no discomfort in Dolby.
Shane, could you please start giving channel count? Just saying Dolby Atmos could mean 5 or 7 bed channels. Also, with all due respect to Kaleid, 98% of your viewers will never use a beautiful $3K+ Kaleid and will only see movies on UHD disc format or off a 20 buck subscription service (max 5 bed channels). So why not review movies in those formats which your subscribers actually use?

I believe he comments on a general set-up of 7.x.4 and I notice that he always describes Kaleid and 4K UHD discs. You gotta give this man a thumbs up for what he shares with us! He gives good quality info on new movies... very valuable to us home theatre enthusiasts.

But i am getting more and more disgusted from this „entertainment“ that is based mainly on violence and disrespect of life. Did also see „Boy kills world“ which was worse. I really enjoyed films which had a real story like „Three billboards…“. or „Ford vs Ferrari“. Liked the first two parts of the Deadpool trilogy, but part 3 has really made me not happy seeing it in the cinema. This is only my personal opinion. Peace!

The PS5 only plays HDR10. It’s supposed to be a little dark. Trust me. If you don’t like it, turn up the brightness on your tv.

I'm one of the few people that didn't see this movie yet. I'm not the biggest fan of Deadpool, I'll probably wait till it hits Disney+.
