I am originally from Korea, but I lived in Portland for little over a year because of work. I came back in August 2020 but never have been able to go back to visit due to COVID. I miss the time in Portland so much, and. it makes me really happy to see the town again! Thanks for the video :)
I was last there Jan - April 2021 (just before you made this vid =p) Love Portland, such a small quaint city that is often overlooked. Looking forward to visiting again sometime in the near future
3 mins in and Not one piece of paper on the ground or other form of trash .. I am extremely impressed. Sadly so many of America's cities today are filthy, with trash strewn all along the sides of the roads and sidewalks -- like people do not care what their neighborhoods look like. But not all -- some cities, you see the apt. dwellers out with their brooms in the morning.
Comparing it to the 80's when I went back in 2014 it was dumpy junk in many yards around many buildings. I was not impressed. Many Somalians moved there. I spoke with one whose family and relatives of nine were following him out. They did not live as we did. Junky yards didn't bother them. Many Somalians moved there. I wouldn't move back. Trashy. Has that changed today?
The two cop vehicles in hot pursuit just minutes in kinda says something. That coming from a NYC guy where the siren sounds are more common than the birds singing.
Portland Miane is by far one of the worst places I’ve ever live! Older city, old houses, very cold, no good paying jobs, would not live there for free. 😀
It definitely can be cold, and expensive to live in (or around) Portland. Decent wages and good jobs are not great anywhere in Maine. A lot of old houses have character and charm, but they’re not very warm. It’s not for everyone. (Btw, I reported that racist comment from low-life Sean L. )
Correct me if I wm not right, but I think you have been driving a Tesla or other another eV. So quiet. Metro shall in the spring of 2022 be getting two e-buses to test out that is going into regular service. It is a start, I had thought all along that Portland (ME) had some tram lines, I suppose that I have been confusing with the other Portland on the West Coast (they do, plus a funiculat). I only hope that Portland decides to go eventually all electric, be it with E-buses, trolleybuses, trams or indeed a metro (maybe even a monorail system) and become an all electric transport city! Now especially in light of this Climate Disaster we all are now experiencing.
Even I see that African cities are far much developed than Main cities in Most USA states....eg You can’t compare even Kigali in Rwanda with this Portland city...
Lol this African dude is funny. Forget the best, America’s worse, less developed cities are a hundred years ahead off even the most developed African country, not even speaking about Rwanda. Because you’ll have a few clean spots in your city, now you think it’s more developed than any American city? Yeah you’re delusional son

Every time I watch this video, I shed a tear. I'm reminded of my home city. Portland will always be mine.
where you at now?
I love all of these city tours. Thank you for making them :)

Portland is def pretty charming
Smooth. Clear. Impressive. Bypassing scenic Eastern Prom was a curious oversight.

Agreed. I live in Jacksonville, Florida and its pretty filthy. Cleanest American city I've every seen was Minneapolis (except where the Somalis live)
That's what Impressed me when I moved here. Also... No alley cats ( strays).
@@davidplumer8766 Are you still there and still happy? What about the winter?

Less pedestrians= less trash on the streets and sidewalks.

Thanks! It was raining a bit earlier in the day, and has being cloudy since. Also the video was taken quite late in the day so it kind of looks dark.

Looks like an overcast day mid May.
Very charming American Town

Not much color. Nothing to lift your mood.
I appreciate this video, I am NOT moving to Portland ME. This place looks as bad as Philadelphia.
Hi
good, stay where you are please. 🙂

Good. One less potential terrorist to worry about.

Love Portland. Extremely safe. Very liberal. Not much traffic. People make eye contact and say hi. Fantastic restaurants. And incredibly beautiful
@@jazzmoos5382 thanks mr Sean L is a 🐑!
If you’re going to use “cold” as an argument, you might as well not come to Maine at all.

I ONLY saw the sea parts of Portland ME, this place has very ugly spots to many for me.
It's turned into a crime-ridden trash pile since then. Tragedy.
No it hasn’t.. crime has actually been decreasing everywhere in Maine.
THIS PLACE LOOKS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BORING! Why do people recommend portland, maine!
Even I see that African cities are far much developed than Main cities in Most USA states....eg You can’t compare even Kigali in Rwanda with this Portland city...
well Kigali is a major city with over 1 million people so it wouldn't make sense to compare it to a small city like Portland Maine.

...this is a tiny city of 60k people. Kigali has over 1M people. You can't compare the two.
Does Portland have Black Ghetto?
