I've stayed in Many hostels when i was younger and traveling in Australia. there a great cheap option. If you ever go out west check out the Lake louise Hostel. Its one of the best ones ive stayed at

Wife and I are in our high 60's and have stayed in a few hostels. In Dublin we stayed at Jacobs, in a pod, and it was fun. In our travels we have stated in 5-star and 1 stars. Hostels can be nice for an overnight for us.
Absolutely a Good time and a great place to meet people and have a good chit-chat
Not exactly "living the dream" for an older gentleman like myself, but if I were in my 20s again and it allowed me to experience Europe and the rest of the World, then hell ya. Getting up close and personal with some likeminded travellers from different cultural backgrounds would be an education in itself. You are a brave man Mike Fish and I am thankful that I get to live the experience vicariously through you instead of having to go through it myself. It's a hard pass for me but let's keep going.

Great report I stayed in publove but in edgware Road and sad to say my experience what not so good, the bathroom was very run down locks on door for shower didn't work so needed to put my water bottle at door to keep closed lol, safe travels

Sorry to hear you got robbed buddy. The last time I stayed in a hostel was in Adelaide Australia in 2011 and some scum bag took all the cash out of my wallet. $200 or so

If I were chose those three places to visit, trust me when I say, I’d rather spent the money and be in a hotel with someone I knew, instead of strangers and to boot, been robbed.
Next time, bring your wife. lol
