    Tandem Mobi gives you wearability options and the best glucose control with Control IQ algorithm. Omnipod5’s algorithm is sub-par. Tandem’s Control IQ algorithm is superior to all other current automated systems.

    I’m trying the mobi right now coming from an Omni pod. So far getting it reloaded and putting it on is difficult. Omnipod is so easy but … the tech involved with this pump is great and I’ve been in better range but I was in tears trying to redo a cartridge. There are available videos and it customer service but still. I had in house training which seemed great. Just very overwhelming .. but I’m trying. Everything in life is a test.

    I wonder with the Mobi, if insurance will pay for insulin as part of DME as it is administered through an insulin pump with tubing, or if the insulin will be covered under a pharmacy plan as it is with an Omnipod?

    The whole 'keep your insulin cold' thing. Am I the only one who thinks it's all BS? I keep insulin in the fridge only when I haven't opened a bottle. Otherwise - once it's open - they go everywhere and get stored everywhere - including the car in the summer, and I've never had an issue with insulin losing it's efficacy.

      For the most part, I agree with you. I have had 2 pens stay out for over a year and they didn't work, or at least they weren't as effective as other pens were. However, I kept like 20 boxes of pens out for a year because I simply didn't have the fridge space, and those were the only 2 that didn't work. Best practice is to keep them in the fridge, but I never cool on trips.

    Justin, do you know what processor is used in the mobi? It was supposed to be an upgrade over the tslim X2. Also, do you know the mechanical pump type in the mobi? The tslim X2 used a positive displacement pump rather than a screw drive, which is one of the reasons I switched to it when it first came out. I had MiniMed screw drive pumps for years but positive displacement is more precise and is most often used in chemical systems such as hospitals. When you replace the cartridge in the X2 you are also replacing the pump diaphragm.

    I've been a Tandem user for almost a decade, and am completely exhausted by the sheer quantity of alerts that I get from my pump, which is made worse by the absolutely shrill sound design of the alarms. @@MoonStar-nl8dx My experience with the Tandem with Control IQ is nothing but high praise. I had an older style Medtronic, not a closed loop system, as my first start into pump therapy and it was a positive experience. But I've heard so many complaints, not with the Medtronic pump itself, but with the sensors, I so happy my Endo suggested the Tandem. Alert volumes can be adjusted. And yes alerts from anything can be annoying, especially at night, it is better to be made aware than to go off the deep end.

    • @cchoge
      @cchoge 9 місяців тому

      @@MoonStar-nl8dx please don't let me bring you down on this. Tandem has been way ahead of other manufacturers in innovations, and Control IQ is truly marvelous. I had some bad experiences with late-night low blood sugars when I was younger, and sleeping was a difficult thing for me because I was so worried about my blood sugar. The improved control is really amazing, and something you should look forward to, especially if you're migrating from Medtronic.
      I'm a seasoned veteran with this pump, and the fatigue I feel might be very much tied to just the sheer amount of time I've lived with the pump, and my own need to shake up my treatment program.
      I think you're going to be delighted by how much ControlIQ is going to improve your overall well being.

      After Medtronic, there was a learning curve with the insertion procedure. Found a helpful video. No regrets changing to Tandem + G7. In the menu of Alerts & Reminders, I have only one turned on, for low reservoir. Also the bigger color touch screen is a pleasure, I find it user friendly rather than the Medtronic manual scrolling in search of the relevant imbedded menu.

    Type 1 for 32 years and currently have the Tslim/ Dexcom G7. Im due soon for a pump upgrade so I wanted to do some research on the Mobi. My takeaways: I love the fact that its smaller but I do not like the fact that it has wireless charging. If the charger breaks or gets lost, you cant charge it. Also you need to make absolutely sure its compatible with your cell phone. When I first got my Dexcom it wasnt compatible with my 6 month old phone, I was not happy. I literally had to buy a new cell phone. As far as the adhesive pocket I would not wear it where people could see it but It is PERFECT for us girls that wear dresses and bathing suites. Im so tired of wearing shorts with pockets under my dresses. I can just stick it to my tummy under my dresses. However, do to the wireless charging thats a deal breaker for me. Thanks so much for the video, it helped a lot😊

      Hi I'm just curious I've been type one for 32 years and I've had an insulin pump for over 15 years since they first came on the market. Why would you want a stainless steel one? They're made to bend so that they move and can be flexible with your body. Having a tube that didn't move would be really difficult and inhibit your movement. Just curious on your reasoning I've never heard anyone say that😊

    I was excited about this pump until I realized the cartridge is no longer the weighted bag system. How is this any better than medtronic? Whenever I used the medtronic pump air bubbles would somehow get into the cartridge a day or 2 after it was installed. This is why I switched to tandem. No air can seep through the rubber since it's a bag.

    I’ve had a tandem pump for just over two years. I am currently on pump number four. That means three pumps have failed. The alarms on their pump are insanely loud. At least with Dexcom 7 you can quiet the Dexcom alarms down(set them to vibrate). The latest version of Tandem software also gives the ability to snooze some of the alarms.
    On a positive note I do like their color touch screen. Loading insulin is easy and the onboard battery charging is more convenient than replacing the battery on my other pump(different manufacturer).
