I know it was a bad joke on Higgins part but the jokes this season about his dad are pretty good. Like how he sent him a text earlier in the season about how bad the team was playing.
Roy is channeling the Ted style of the press conference. Also true. Because Colin didn't know what was on Isaac's mind. He thought, that that 1% won over 99%. While Isaac was thinking, I was I such a shity friend that you can trust me.
Cinephiles will notice director Erica Dunton channeling Aaron Sorkin and Rob Reiner in the press conference scene --with the individual closeups on the reporters as Roy is speaking. Go back and look at the climactic press conference in The American President. The reactions are almost identical. Nice little homage, that.
Honestly I thought this entire episode was just brilliant, the messaging overall and how they are gearing up the rest of the seasons and all the development from each character this week it was Roy. We seen the growth with him and Rebecca, Roy finally seeing what he really wants even if he can not admit yet, showing the emotions he never showed when he was Roy Kent the Footballer. Everything about this episode, the growth of the team, showing support that Ted has been preaching since he got there if all finally coming to fruition.
Ted's work is almost done; Roy has slowly changed into a poster boy for the Lasso Method. The team have matured and improved. Rebecca is her own woman. He can go home and season four will become The Greyhounds or something
The first few episodes were pretty abysmal. They blitzed out some storylines so fast it felt like I missed an entire season. But they leveled it out for the second half, and at least to me, MOSTLY stuck the landing.
Thrown by the fact that Juno Temple was filming Fargo when they started this season. Most of her scenes are away from the club. I’ve rewatched season 3 recently and there are plenty of good things before the Amsterdam episode.
@@TheGenremanThat kind of makes it worse, isn't it? Like, we all know he wasn't calling him a cigarette. That fan went to another country's worst thing to call a homosexual to insult Isaac. That thought alone pisses me off, and it's just a hypothetical about a random dude in the best show on the past decade.
We all know it’s ok to be gay or foreign or whatever but they still feel the need to beat these narratives to death in every fucking show and film. That one episode with the “shut up and dribble” and vandalized the restaurant🙄 It’s just exhausting. The one brief great moment of episode 9 was when they were arguing about Joe Walsh and Jimmy Page. Other than that it was 💩
I can partially agree that seeing the same topics get brought up in media over and over again can be tiresome at times, but I think it's important to recognize why these things keep coming up. Some people would argue that the creators are just virtue signaling, but the reality (in my opinion) is that these kinds of problems are far from fixed issues. There is still a lot of racism, homophobia, and general bigotry going on that real people have to deal with every single day. One of the primary purposes of art is to shed a light on these issues and try to evoke social change. Not everyone knows its okay to be gay or foreign or whatever. Some people still need to be taught, and these lessons need to be constantly modernized to accurately represent the shapes that these hateful practices take in contemporary life so that people can identify, discredit or amend that behavior. The same type of shit that came up in Shakespeare is still coming up in modern media, and you can trace plenty of narratives back even further if you really want.
i agree the "shut up a dribble" thing, was a little shoehorned in. However, I disagree with your comments about the collin being gay story line. Being gay is more widely accepted now in normal society. But being a gay footballer in the premier league is just not accepted in the real world. There are 0 openly gay premier league players (look it up if you do not believe me). In the lens of this being a football show about the premier league, it is actually really important to have an episode about this and I think the show handled this plot really well (for the most part, there is always room for reasonable criticism). For the record, I write this as someone who does not like overt/ pandering wokisum in tv. However, social issues can be handled well on tv, with-it it being pandering wokisum. I don't think this gay plotline form ted lasso is as example of pandering wokisum.
Hollywood has no shame nowadays ... They're now woking up a show that's based on a sport ! IT'S A SHOW ABOUT A SPORT , THEY DON'T NEED TO DO THAT !! They have to try and woke everything up , even football !
The first openly gay footballer in Britain was driven to suicide by the harassment he received. You’re a fucking dickhead if you think a show about football shouldn’t be allowed to touch that subject
Maybe it's not 'Woking up', whatever in the Fox news kool aid world kind of bullshit that means. Maybe it is that your bigotry is out of step with the world. Good. You are dinosaurs. Loving thy neighbour is not new.
This show was never about sports. It was always about human relationships. How daft are you? Can you tell me how many games they've actually shown? Less than 5? Then sit down you homophobe
When Apple TV shows run out of interesting ideas, they just go for the alphabet bs. Ooooh how risqué. So fucking predictable. Lol. Ted Lasso season 1 was 2020 chicken soup for the soul. 2 engh. 3 purr shite. Like how can we create a spin off.

I thought it was actually a pretty good joke, just the wrong time. Like, very wrong. Seriously read the room Leslie.

Talking about an awful movie filled with vacuous moral pontificating....

Yeah I think they’re writing them into a way so they’re all going to be okay without Ted around
Theres not going to be a season 4 tho
@@peanutbutter3142 it’s been out for a couple of months now. No denials from Apple TV or anyone.
This episode was much better than the previous one thankfully
I am from Upstate NY and had no idea they had Price Choppers in KC
😂
I caught that too (upstater here too) 👍

No English footballer likes to be called a kind of meatball...
This made me laugh, so thank you 😂 Brain's F.....s were a favourite of my Grandad!
What is the word??
Fagg0t
Rhymes with maggot
The thing is no English person uses the other f word to insult a queer person, they would use the p word, rhymes with woof
@@TheGenreman Faggot and whats the p word?

Technically. They wouldn’t play one man down, because it was a red card off the clock and off the pitch. 0:54
