Congratulations on being released to light duty, that’s a huge step in healing and especial great for mental health. As I’ve said before my Land Pride clam shell grapple and the backhoe are my two favorite attachment on my L2501. I was real excited when y’all got the grapple especially after all the snow and ice damage you had last winter!
Very handy tools, the grapple and the backhoe thumb! Thanks for the video! Also, that burn pile is getting big. That's gonna be a fun one to watch burn.
Hey Toby. I know it feels good to be able to accomplish something after being down for a while. Just be careful not to get too anxious about the things that need to be done. It's too easy to overestimate what you're ready for and cause a setback. We are hoping you'll be patient and let yourself heal properly so you can get back to normal activities at the right time instead of too soon.
Eat your Heart out Pete from Just a few acres farm. He had mentioned a grapple fork for his 656 and loader in a video not long ago but then shook his head. Actually I think he was weakening a bit though. We had a grapple fork on an old Dual loader and 830 case since the late 70s and loved it. I want one for my skidsteer but I can borrow one from my nephews. I am so glad things are progressing well for you Toby. Take care!
Thanks for the video Toby! Glad to see you back out and doing some work. I can only imagine how stir crazy you have been with not being able to do much of anything. Thanks again and hope things keep progressing smoothly
You're still fairly young and tough so you're gonna be getting better every day. Good time to learn to get along with a deserved vacation lifestyle. As a senior I've had to grapple with eye problems among all the other stuff that happens with age. I know no matter what happens you'll be okay, just hang in there.
I spent the first year after my heart attack either going to doctors or sitting in the house. 9 years later I am using a cane and a walker and a golf cart to enjoy my time out in the shop. For a guy like me that was torture so I can imagine how it must feel to get outside and do some good work. Got gave us work for a reason. It is good for the soul. Glad to see you enjoying what you love to do again.
Hard to keep a good man down. Glad to see you out and about, but don't push too hard. We can wait. Do what feels comfortable and we will move with your progress. Thanks for sharing.
Toby glad your finally able to get out and do stuff that's terrific and I'm glad your eyes coming along and on the mend. Love the cleanup video very cool.
Good to see you back in action. As a bit of information for all, depth 3D perception is really only very close. Further objects are assessed by comparisons (going on very quickly in the brain). I had an eye patch a couple of times due to a scratched eyeball, I could drive fine (and ok by the doc). Now given, one eye was covered so I did not have conflicting information. One of Japans top scoring aces in WWII was blinded in one eye in 1942 and went onto fly fighters again (apparently effecti8vely though the US had much better fliers when he got back into combat as well as much better fighters)
@@squatch253 I was good with the patch and could navigate well, I can see how confusing it would be with two eyes and one not working. Could you try to cover up a lens or is it not enough to bother with? (or maybe not work right with the recovery?)
Glad to see your at least able to get out of the house and do a little. I'm so glad to see you doing better buddy I hope the rest of the healing goes great Toby.
Glad to see you out and doing something to earn your keep. It’ll be a happy day when you’re ready to start feeding us what we need! Get all the way well soon. 🥸👍👀✅❗️
Congratulations on your continuing recovery. Best wishes for a full recovery. As much as I love the old Caterpillars, that Kubota with all the attachments is totally awesome. Good work.
Glad you’re healing of your eye is moving in a positive direction. I can tell it was great for you to get outside and play with the toys. Keep going in a positive direction.
first time ever for a comment here, I have been watching your last month problems with your eye while my left eye was missing a lens. 30 days ago they managed to get a new lens in place and tomorrow will be finding out how well it has taken. After 3 tires on this eye, I've had enough. I can see that you did also!
I can relate to the cabin fever you suffered with. I lost partial vision in my right eye from an optic nerve arterial occlusion. Lost center vision mainly in the area you use to read. It is a hard adjustment to loose the depth perception but you will adapt. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy them all.
Great to see you back in the saddle. Depending on how scared I was, I may not have been able to hold off like that. After I had cervical spine surgery I was pretty dang careful but I still did a few things I wasn't supposed to do.
Hi, Squatch253. Great to hear that you are back to at least 'light duties' and thanks for the video. Just my 0.02. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
I am glad to see you back in action albeit in a somewhat limited capacity. I watch a sawmill channel "bus motor productions. Mark Galicic has the exact same problem, and his channel will be somewhat limited as a result.
Good to see you put and about buddy. Man, sure would've been nice to have a Kubota like that when I did all my brush clearing. I still have more I want to do but the projects I have laid out before me are taking priority. See you in the next one.
Nice that things are getting better. White birch tree. Ya, not so good if it’s not processed as soon as it cut down, or blown down in my case. Working on my birch the last few days. Blown down by hurricane Fiona sept last year. Was cut up this year in April. Splitting it for the last two weeks along with other blown down trees. Most of the birch prices 6” and smaller were going bad. And the bark of it nasty. Some of the bark off the trunk was 3/4” thick. Including the paper. She was a big tree. Have a rest day. Good to hear things are better.
Enjoyed the video, we presently use a mechanical only grapple, no hydraulics. It doesn’t open as wide, but use only the curl action of the FEL and works well enough to move trees and debris around the farm. Glad you are doing better
3rd time I watched this. could not or do not comment the other times Nice to see you out and around. that depth perception will get better the more you work on it. just dont expect perfection right away
Great to see you out and about! I'm so happy you got a good medical report. Don't push it, you don't want a set back. I too have had eye problems and suffer from double vision, which also causes depth perception issues. After 15 years or so it's not an issue as much as it is at first. I truly hope your double vision improves. But if not Don't despair the body finds ways to adjust!
Glad to see you out and about. We have an older New Holland tc30. I wish it had the quick attach on the loader. It would make it so much more useful. The weld on conversions are quite spendy.
Glad you can get out and do something Sure wish we could get some rain in SW Alabama really dry here Peanut and soybean harvest underway crop is short due to drought Hang in there
Youre rocking that ThuggLife look Squatch! Sunnies cap and hoody like your on the way to the bank to make a unauthorised withdrawal.. I hope your eye recovery continues well
You're wise to step back into work gradually and I pray the healing process will continue. It would be nice to hear more about your plans for the rock crusher you rescued about a year ago.
Toby: Great work with the grapple. You stated pre WW2 cats were not built for doxing but for drawbar work. New tractors list engine hp ratings and pto hp ratings; older tractors were rated for drawbar hp and belt hp. How does pto hp compare with drawbar hp on todays tractors? Thanks for in insight. Tom
Glad you are getting g better do you think you be out at the fall plow day?.....if you could ask Sr I'm looking for a ih j4 magneto spring ancor for the points system ware would I go get one thanks hoping g to get up and running to attend the plow event
Great news your back to ticking off the list off jobs. You could have really had us going there and tried to pick some thing up and be meters or yards out and just put it down to “depth off perception needing fine tuned” 😉 glad you got some good news 👍🏻
Good news on the eyes. I had eye surgery on my left eye when I was 9 to correct a wandering eye. Took me months of eye exercises. I got so tired of them. Couldn't do squat.
speedy recovery to, your in my prayers. Do you have td dozer in collection. I know you are working on the H. And senior has a M. I remember a allis D and cat 10, D2's D6's but no international dozer.
Have any GoPro's been "lost" in the line of duty over the years? You get some amazing shots. The cameras sometimes seem almost too close to the action. Surely, you've run a camera over with, like, a D2 by now! 😉
A grapple is a must have tool whether its on loader tractor skid steer or backhoe. They're handier than having an extra hand, more like multiple hands! LOL
Did you install the grapple valving yourself or was it dealer installed? You should do a review on your yard equipment. I too own a kb tractor and hustler zt. They've been great so far
Every time you take your glasses off and show the eye, I think of the guy in the remake of Thunderball. Hope this all heals well and you don't die with a snake in your lap crashing into a stonewall barn.
Hang in there Toby. Babe Ruth was legally blind in one eye and did pretty well with depth perception.
I never knew that. German ace Adolph Galland also.
I would like you to give your source that Babe Ruth was blind in one eye.

Great video Toby! Glad to hear another good report from the doctor. You done really well using the backhoe to pull those logs out. Cheers
That kubota has really proved to be an excellent investment. Gives a whole new respect for what the old timers did to clear land
Very handy tools, the grapple and the backhoe thumb! Thanks for the video!
Also, that burn pile is getting big. That's gonna be a fun one to watch burn.
What a versatile machine! Perfect for woodlands. AND...so glad you're doing better Toby! Thank you for taking us along.

Glad you’re on the road to full recovery! The land pride bucket will be a big work saver for you

Outstanding on the Eye news...
Thanks for the video Toby! Glad to see you back out and doing some work. I can only imagine how stir crazy you have been with not being able to do much of anything. Thanks again and hope things keep progressing smoothly
Good to see you getting back into the swing toby
Congratulations on the progress with your eye.
Great to see you are able to start working again. I’m glad your check up went well. Continue to follow Dr’s orders and you will be back to 100% soon.

Good news about your eye.
Glad you are back in action
Glad to see you're back at it.
Good news on the eye!
I see the 'NO SHAVE' restriction has not been lifted yet. 🤣
Hard to keep a good man down. Glad to see you out and about, but don't push too hard. We can wait.
Do what feels comfortable and we will move with your progress.
Thanks for sharing.
Praise God! So glad to hear you are finally recovering!
Glad to see your back up and running again... don't push to hard with your rehab. Be safe and have fun!!!!
Great to hear your eye is healing.
I can appreciate your joy of being out and doing something again as I expereinced the same joy after back surgery.
Toby glad your finally able to get out and do stuff that's terrific and I'm glad your eyes coming along and on the mend. Love the cleanup video very cool.
Awesome news! Nothing better than being able to get outside and do something.
Great to see you being able to get back to work. I'm sure your eyesight will return to normal in time. Hang in there!

Congrats! Doc let you out into the world. Here's to a clean, good recovery!
The grapple I got with my new JD4052 was the single best attachment purchase I've made! Looks like yours sees good usage too!
Great to see your eye progressing. Nice to see you back out on the tractor. 🚜
I like that grapple. Looks to be quite handy. Glad you're continuing to heal. Always good news.
Glad to see you out and doing something to earn your keep. It’ll be a happy day when you’re ready to start feeding us what we need! Get all the way well soon. 🥸👍👀✅❗️

It’s wonderful to be able to get out and do something after you been on the restriction list
Great to see you out and moving - hopefully next winter won't drop the gift of a new pile of branches!
Fantastic to see you out and about doing chores ... must feel good
It's a fine machine and a real work saver!
Woohoo! Back in action. Good on you, Squatch!
Glad to see you out and about. A little casual tractor therapy does one good.
Congratulations on getting back into action, I had a CSR myself and I know how debilitating loss of vision can feel.

Welcome back. You seem to be in better spirits. Nice to have great equipment. Working smarter, not harder.
Hi, Squatch253.

I’m so glad your doing better, was worried for a while. Great news!
Good to see you out and about. Also, glad to hear another good report on the eye.
Good to see you out,and it's good for your mental health...sitting in the house will drive you nuts
Excellent video it's nice to see you out and about again

Hope you video the fire when you get rid of that big pile. Glad you're getting better.
Glad to see you working!
I have the exact same combo at my ranch L4701, BH92, LA765 and the same 5’ grapple, it’s an awesome machine.
Good to see that you are on the mend, now to get Mark Galicic in the same state - he has suffered with the same eye issue.
It's good to see you OK
Glad to see you on the mend.😎
Really neat tool. Glad you on the mend.

nice to get out again.
It's funny how much you don't know you need a tool until after you get it. Nice job keep up the good work.
Great videos! How did your French drain work out? I’d like to see a video about it.
You're wise to step back into work gradually and I pray the healing process will continue. It would be nice to hear more about your plans for the rock crusher you rescued about a year ago.

Wow - that grapple does a lot of work that would be a pain to do in other ways. Very nice.
Glad to hear the news about your eye getting better. It is nice to see you and the Kubota at work. Are you completely satisfied with the tractor?

Good to hear things heading in the right direction 👌 does the Kubota have throttle response attached through the hydro pedals 🤔 good video 👍
Hallo Toby.
Sei nur schön vorsichtig mit deinen Augen. Augenlicht hat man nur einmal.
Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland.

Careful what you look at Squatch. Don't want to strain the eye. :P
