Hey Matt thanks for this exclusive behind the scene kitchen special showcasing all the hard work and precision that goes into making these dishes so exceptional.Had me drooling. When I go to NY in June I will check out Tropical Island. So much to savour. Thanks kiddo for this rare footage. Worth my time. Take care and best of luck.
What a truly amazing variety of dishes being prepared. Almost anything of Guyanese cuisine you could wish for seems to be available. "Tropical Isle"? " Tropical Paradise" might be just as fitting. Well done guys! Would have been nice to see expression of the customers receiving their orders. Thank you Matthew and the folks at the Roti Shop for giving us a look in. Not living in US, I could only lick my lips from far away.😀😃
@matthewsguyanesecooking4601 I sure will.. thank you again for all the wonderful ideas. I'm not Guyanese, I'm italian but love guyanese food. My friends and I are a broad group and truly Embrace diversity, traditions, food, etc. especially living in New York. It's the best...
Too much white flour for me and don't take about the frying and oil - that food is killing us. Hypertension, diabetes to start. What happened to change to whole wheat flour and real brown rice - yes, it cost more, but give people a different choice.
O boy, there's a critic troll in every section. People from India and Guyana live to ripe old age and most of them are good body shape. Most of their cuisine is based on lentils, beans, and other vegetables. Most of the desserts, however, use white flour. So don't eat if it offends you. I can say the same thing about BAKING. Most Europeans and Middle Eastern people bake their food and don't like frying, but they are STILL FAT!
