DJI Pocket 2 - Still good in 2024 for filming inside a car

Knowing that a newer model is available, we should not underestimate the value for the money the DJI Pocket 2 has to offer on the used market. And even if we own several bigger sensor cameras, there are situations when practicality wins over sensor size.
In this video, we are using the DJI Pocket 2 inside a car with a suction cup attached to the driver window. We also used a third party Wifi transmitter to monitor the footage from my Iphone. We found this camera with small print to be less intrusive than a larger camera. It is ideal for story telling, vlogging, or weddings.
When you get inspired, you can mix takes from different cameras, each of them for what they do best, and the DJI Pocket 2 is still a good investment in 2024 in our opinion.
This video was a test to verify how the DJI pocket 2 can absorb the vehicle's vibrations. Not only it did very well, but it maintains some settled shakes that could make one think the camera is being operated handheld.
When pointing the camera towards the road, I was lazy to use the suction cup and chose to film handheld, but there the result is not that great. A rainy day was ideal to avoid heavy contrasts. The DJI Pocket 2, like any small sensor camera, would struggle in bright light.
Gear used :
- DJI Pocket 2 / Ulanzi WIFI transmitter / Single suction cup / VND filter
- Panasonic GH5s with Laowa 7,5mm for the intros shots
- Panasonic G80 with Lumix 35-100mm and Lumix 100-300m for zoomed shots of my dog
- DJI Mavic Pro 2 for aerial all shots.
