Honestly, I'd wish the parents would have saw this, so that they know what a special Dog Spike is...I mean, I know they see him like that, but how many dogs have you seen protect their children from a wild wolf? Sacrificed himself too. Even Angleica cried for him.
Or Stu, for that matter. He could've relayed what he saw Spike doing to save the kids. The parents would be so proud of Spike being a protective doggo.

I saw my dog Ranger fight a wild wolf. Ranger was a German shepherd and he was a retired police dog. Does that count?

I was 8 when this came out and I saw it in theaters with family.
The movie came out the same time when Bugs Life came out Antz a month before and Prince of Egypt one month later.

Okay, maybe in the real world, the CPS would investigate into this a little bit and warn the parents not to let this happen again.
But this is the Rugrats world, and seeing the parents being so relieved to see their children again is just something that tugs at my heart strings.

ya know. when I was like.. 10 or eleven years old. I had a dog since I was a baby. shelty mix. I was walking her one day and two guard dogs got loose. and she protected me from both of them, and the only blood on my dog was theirs. I'll never forget her.

What I think the words between Spike(If Bruce Willis was voicing Spike in this) and Scar Snout(The Wolf, who I imagined Kevin Michael Richardson would be his voice) would be if they could talk; with one particular line as nod to the catchphrase of Bruce Willis’s character, John McClane, from Die Hard

Given The wild Thornberrys exist this all but confirms that Scarsnout(Yes the wolf has a Name) is fully AWARE he's Hunting Toddlers, which is even worst when you realize that Wolves tend to avoid humans regardless of size this basically makes him the closest thing the Rugrats franchise had to a Serial Killer.
Lots of hunting animals target the young first because they see them as weaker prey.

More than one dog has fought off a wolf, same with cougars and bears. Not all live through this, but even the dog knows that.
Surprisingly enough, there are well documented real life cases of dogs (both trained and common house dogs) succesfully facing and repelling bigger and wilder animals like wolfs, bears or tigers. Nature can be amazing.
