Can you use straight voodoo oil on the gears? I tried using it on rollers and I feel like it rubbed off really fast so i stuck with grease on the rollers... wondering if i should be using voodoo on my gears as well although I do know you put it on the motor after cleaning for sure
does applying the voodoo affect it alot? also where do we get a hold of voodoo here in the philippines and what are the substitutes for voodoo? thank you so much!
It's not really peak voltage that you're looking for on a charger. What you're looking for is peak amperage. The one in the video maxes out at 700ma charge rate. It used to reach 1.55v for NiMH batteries. This old charger helped push the batteries higher than normal because it had less safety features. On the SkyRC NC2600 that I have it can charge at 2600ma. This one can peak charge the battery sometimes up to 1.57v. my SkyRC MC3000 can sometimes push voltage up to 1.61v. Note: These voltage are really only useful for high speed racing. On Technical tracks it is better to charge batteries to more nominal voltages like 1.45v.
@@Z3NBluster for now we are playing Open set up tamiya motors only, thats why i need a charger that can peak 1.55v or higher, thank you for the info, now i have to review the model you said and im going to buy it. thanks again ^^,
Some Asshole After charged, the batteries after rest usually end up around 1.25v for me. That 1.5v+ you see only lasts a few seconds during peak charging to check the motors at the limit of the batteries. Actually, right after you unplug them from the peak charge the batteries start discharging right away and by the time I pop them into the cars they're probably 1.48v.
Thanks for the quick reply. What charger is that? I might have missed it in the video. Currently i'm just using 4 year old eneloop charger. Also, i'm coming to LA this coming week for the Ultimate race on saturday. Is JT doing anything on Sunday? I heard some comfusing information about Ultimate doing either a speed race or a Filipino race on Sunday morning. Sorry about all the questions! I'm just very excited. I haven't touched mini4wd in a year.
hey @Z3N bluster... any suggestions on how to clean a power dash motor?... it should be necessary to cut out the stickers?... and what is the best should i do? ... clean it with contact cleaner?... or dunk it on lighter fluid like u do?... thanks! 😎
You're just adding an additional step that isn't necessary. Also WD40 doesn't do that. It's designed as a Water Displacement Lubricant, hence the name WD. If you want to clean waterlogged parts then yes. Use WD40 to push out the water, then clean it with lighter flyid, then re-oil depending on what you're cleaning.
If that Jet Dash with the metal bushing on either side is the more common one, does that make the one without the metal bushing is more special? what's the difference?
It is less common. I honestly don't know what the difference is. Someone from Italy told me that one without the bushing on the endbell is faster. But I have not personally seen one and how it performs so this is unconfirmed.
this might be very late reply but if you are still into the hobby i believed the one with exposed metal endbell you can replace the metal bushings for the ball bearings easily on both sides without drilling the plastic end. I have seen in when i was still a kid back in the late 90s. At that time i believed they produce 2 specifications for stock jet dash or for further modify jet dash. Both of them are identical in terms of performance wise. Otherwise, it would be in another category. Personally, for collections I would perferred the one with plastic end although both are discontinued.
Z3N Bluster I'm planning to break in my motor hyper dash japan 2016 just like your tutorial in the video using 9volt batery (the square one)... Or is it not 9volt? I'm confuse.
I don't recommend using 9v at all. If you're going to clean motors, you should just do it the way I do it. Buy one of those battery case for AA that I use in the video. 2.2v-3v is enough for 20 seconds. With normal and reverse polarity.
Find a jar that is big enough that will fit the motor side of a chassis. A Super 1 with a broken bumper would work. Put the motor that you're going to clean, into that chassis. Fill that jar with lighter fluid so that when you dip the chassis inside the jar, the level of the lighter fluid will rise enough to submerge the whole motor when you dip the chassis into it. Turn the chassis on while it's submerged with batteries(use old alkaline solution that you don't care about), that should clean the motor whole you dip it into the jar.
Burn? For something to burn you need a fire. To make fire, you need something that combusts, oxygen, and something that ignites it. If the motor is fully submerged within the liquid and the electrical arc does not come in contact with oxygen. A fire won't start, then the motor won't burn. And besides, didn't you watch the video? Did I start a fire? :P
Z3N Bluster of course i have watched the video, it's a great and informative video. What do you think about using contact cleaner to clean the motor? which method is better?
Pwede din po ba gawin ito sa hyper dash 2? I found some na naka stock ng matagal mga 13yrs, gumagana pa rin. Pero gusto ko muna linisin. I hope you can reply. Tnx

3. what can you say about yung pang gising ng motor? like yung lalagyan mo ng battery yung holder tapos pipitik pitikin mo yung makina for 10-20sec mga ganun.. is it working talaga? thank you sir and mabuhay po kayo. :)
1. Yes. 2. I haven't tried submersing a motor in Kerosene for a long time. Ive only tried cleaning with it, maybe for about 1 minute at the longest. It might remove the motor label, that is definitely a risk. 3. Pag-gising ng motor? It doesn't make sense to me.
You can use it again. That's up to you. After a while it gets so dirty that the motors you're trying to clean will still have grime on the inside you'll need to flush out.

+Mark Joseph Guevarra There are alot of videos that already show how to break-in motors out there. If I feel that the topic has been covered well before, I don't make the video.
Ron Cabais Because I don't have an air compressor. Also this is a video of cleaning the Jet Dash, which is in the video title. This video is not for break-in.
what im trying to say is for to have better results after cleaning, you will have to use air compressor to clean through inside. just a recommendation. yeah its a cleaning process just like the title you put on the video.

You won't need to cut the sticker label. The Power Dash already has vent holes. So this method still works for it.

Yes, but you won't need to cut the label.
is it ok using 9v batery on the motor when break in ?
Anto Kwok It's probably doable, but I don't recommend it. Depending on which motor, you could end up damaging the brushes instead of breaking them in.

Some of my sources say that there is. Just much rarer than the Johnsons.
what is the best motor? is the plasma dash the best motor?
There is no, "Best Motor." The ideal motor is the motor that will make your car fast on the track whilst still being stable.

Tactical Turtle Are you asking Best Torque or Most Torque? Those are two very different things.
Most torque

Yeah, it's fine. You won't need to cut the label to drain.

won't it get burned by turning the machine on in a highly flammable liquid?
