I’m over here in the U.K. and found James just a couple'o weeks ago. I have to get tuned in to the accent then he’s brilliant; it’s all about observation and delivery with hardly any manufactured jokes. You’ve got yourselves a national treasure 👏

I love this humor. It’s precious and could apply to people anywhere except for the accent. I’m a southerner at heart even though I’ve lived out west most of my life. Now I’m in sweet home Alabama and love the people and the way of life.

I was working at a small store when the lottery got up to 375 million. People were coming to buy 110s of dollars worth. So one guy came in to actually buy $500.00 worth of tickets. As my coworker was printing out the tickets I made a small observation. I thought out loud that if someone was going to spend that kind of money it seemed to me it would be better to do it when the lottery was under 10 million. There were so many more people buying tickets now the chances of winning, even with buying $500.00 worth of tickets, were far less than if you invested that money on a 10 million dollar pot with so fewer people buying tickets. The guy waiting for his $500.00 worth of tickets to finish printing seemed a bit irate with me for saying that.
😂😂😂 if I remember correctly from a time I started but did not finish reading the book by Adam Smith called the wealth of nations, buying more tickets is just buying more chances to lose.
Aren't your chances the same regardless of the amount of entrants? It's not like they pick your name out of a hat or you have to be closest, you still have to pick the numbers even if you were the only entry. The only real risk with more people is there's a greater chance you'll have to split the prize if you win.
@@jacobg8640 Well you have more chances as long as you use different numbers per ticket. But yes smaller amount means less people to potentially split with.
Actually, the probability of winning from $500 worth of tickets remains the same regardless of the jackpot amount.
You got the right mentality just the wrong part of the lottery. That mentality would work with scratchers especially but if the lottery was pre-drawn before the tickets were sold your observation would be correct but the fact that it’s drawn at random after tickets are purchased then it’s completely random. I guess the only thing that might increase chance-wise and even then I’m not sure if it will would be the chances of you having more of the drawn numbers than somebody else but like I said I don’t even think that works like that when it comes to random draw lottery. But if I am wrong someone please correct me

Back 30 years ago a family in a small town near my small town, won $13 million. The news crew made it out there asked them what there going to do with all that money. They said “we’re going to fix up the trailer some and splurge on a new pick-up truck.” It took lik 6 months to a year to really understand how much money that was. Finally when they did understand it they moved to Hawaii. The whole county Was making fun of them for at least 6 months because of this. They were very 😡 and wanted to move as far as possible from all of us. 😂
Yea, that was a lot of money 30 yrs. ago but now, it's middle ground. Sadly. A dollar isn't worth as much as it used to. But, I can still screen in that porch with it! LOLOL

True Story: Guy upriver in the sticks near here won the lottery back in the early days when it first started. Couple million. Put granite counter tops in his single wide. The counter tops were worth more than the single wide by a significant margin. Also bought a new truck, which was also worth more than the single wide.

Well considering you just won that money by gambling I think GOD would tell ya to keep it. But I'd sure buy me a nice house along with my mom and pay off my dad's and buy my dad his dream car then my mom a nice car. Look to invest a couple million,sit my kids up for life. The average thing I guess.

I've noticed James is 100 % correct about people buying or buying more lottery tickets as the jackpot builds. I'd just as soon have 1 million as 1 billion but the last Power Ball ticket I bought was when it was a billion. There was a line waiting to get tickets.
