Yes! Thanks. This was my first refill. 2 of the 3 burners wouldn't light and the flame was underwhelming. I purged the air a few times. Still only 1 burner lit/weak flame. Couple quick blasts w/ air and it's working like new.
That boy came through today boy! Thought my lighter was broken for the past months decided to see what was up wit the lighter and all I needed to do was let that air bubble out lol. Thanks man
Good advice. Everyone needs to know this. But don’t throw out your lighters right away without looking how to fix it dyi first or donate to friend who can use for parts and get you back whenever you have another issue they can help you with.
So I'm trying to fix my torch I got from the store about 3 months ago it looks like the spark is going on the outside instead of the inside is there a way to fix this?
Like the spark is hitting the outside of the lighter instead of the burner? Sometimes all you need to do is carefully bend that spark wire slightly downwards towards the burner. Just be careful not to break it. If you’re here in the Buffalo area, bring it in to us. If it can be fixed, we can fix it. If not, the lighter may be under warranty and we can replace it.
I got a brand new lighter. After a couple uses was sparking but wouldn’t ignite so I pulled it apart to see if I could work it out 😅 took me a bit to work out how it went back together cause a few bits came apart when I got it open. Turns out there’s heaps of excess spark wire in my particular one. Had it for 6 months now and besides air bubbles never an issue
I pulled less then a mm extra through and bent it a little closer to burner as it’s hard against the wall and a fair way away which I think was the issue as I only have my gas set at half. Took 3 sparks to light. Now first one every time
Do you mean that no gas is coming out when you try and light the lighter? If so, here's some tips: Does your lighter have an adjustment wheel to turn the flame up or down? Make sure it didn't get turned all the way down. Try to purge all the fuel out of the lighter and fill it up again. May be a vapor lock and purging the lighter and refilling should clear it. It could be that the burner is too dirty. Try blowing out the burner with compressed air.
We would need more detailed info. Did you refill it? If so did ot spray everywhere? Then you need a quality tip adapter which butane brands like Newport zero and whip its have on their lids. They are thick and have little to no imperfections. It will solve all your refilling issues. You wont even hear the butane because it seals so well.
Hey I think I broke my 945M butane pistol lighter because when I pull down the little thing you pull down in the back to light it the lighter just makes a little hissing noise and I've been trying for 2 days now can some one please give me some tips on how to fix i
Hissing? Like the sound of a lot of butane coming out? A hissing sound to me sounds like the lighter is releasing too much butane. If there’s an adjustment on the lighter you may want to turn it down. That’s just a guess. Without actually looking at it, it’s hard to diagnose. 🤷♂️
Ok, that changes things. If there’s no “click” or spark, I hate to say it but, you’re probably out of luck. Once that breaks, the lighter is usually trash. I’m not familiar with that particular lighter but, make sure there’s no warranty from the shop or manufacturer before you toss it.
I’ve purged and filled it properly. It sparks. It hisses nicely. It won’t light. I can light it no problem with another flame so the jets are not clogged. What the heck?!
Make sure that spark is hitting the burner. Sometimes the wire gets bent up a bit and the spark actually hits up towards the top instead of going down to the burner. If this is the case, take a small flathead screwdriver and very gently bend the spark wire down slightly towards the burner.

Worked. I had an air bubble and then brushed the burner off and blew it out. Its a roaring jet again. Saved my mother of pearl Xikar.

@@TinderBoxBuffalo I tried to turn the butane pressure up and down but thanks for letting me now about it
Are you getting a spark from the spark wire to the burner when you “click” the lighter to light it?
@@TinderBoxBuffalo no It doesnt spark it just let's out the butane theres no click or spark

@@TinderBoxBuffalo figured it out - too close to the burner. Gapped it more and works.
What are u looking at? I want to see
