2004 Lincoln Town Car Ultimate | Full In-Depth Walk-Around Review | What A Luxury Car Should Be

In 2004, Lincoln went wonky on their Town Car trims. For years and years, Town Cars were available as Executive, Signature or Cartier series, but, in 2004, that changed to Signature, Ultimate and Ultimate L. There was no Cartier version available, however, they did offer a Limited Edition packagers replace it. In 2003, the Town Cars were extensively redesigned, and while not all-new, changes were significant inside and out. The redesign saw a more modern approach to the most traditional large car still available in the US, with different headlamps, grille and taillights. The interior also saw updates in materials and features. Sales diminished greatly along its lifecycle as more modern takes on large luxury cars started to appear. The Town Car remained body on frame and rear wheel drive, and traditional buyers were lacking. In 1994, sales were 120,191, while in 2004, only 51,908 were sold, a 43% decrease. Our car was built at the Wixom Assembly Plant in October of 2003.

I daily a 98 Lincoln Signiture Series now. Thing made me developed a soft spot for Town Cars.

There actually is a trunk keyhole, just almost unnoticeable next to the 4 license plate holes. It's very slightly more noticeable with a license plate covering the other 4 holes. And thanks for the vid. Very helpful. I'm test driving one with 100k miles in the morning. Vids like yours let me know what to look for and are very helpful, thanks.

Just purchased an 04 love the smooth ride .had Jags BMW and Range Rover over the years .at age 76 love the comfort driving this car feel also very very safe and secure .

Very nice. Looks just like my 2003 except for the extra chrome and the hideous wheels. Never seen the chrome around the tail lights, kinda tacky. It is unfortunate that these cars became more simple and less refined as the years progressed.
