Hey Alex, great job on the build. An LSD would really help on that tight course. My favorite part was when you two installed the coils and the 52s. It really gave the car a great new look. Thanks for the great videos!
An LSD combined with the torque and lag aswell as a very heavy rear end would likely make it far too tail happy and probably near undrivable on a tight course.

Why did I enjoy the series so much then? I actually bought myself an E46 M57N 6-speed Diesel Sedan, inspired by the first episode, to complete my collection of E46 330Ci and CiC. Watching them modify that diesel was like watching a chav throw cashola at a 1.2 Corsa and at the end his Barry boy's 1.8/2.0 red top is quicker in OEM state. Even Top Gear started with the top range V6 Avantime so it made sense instead of a 1.9TDI. And yes I get it, the shitty diesel E46 is not the focus of the program. They just wanted to make money by stitching different episodes showing you what different performance parts do to the car. You could even do the same identical episode on a Lada.
On a financial level yes it would, but even for £10k you can still get "better" cars than an E46 M3. A chipped 335i or Audi S4 would smoke an E46 M3 for similar money. Or faster still would be an old Evo 7/8 stripped and tuned. I think it was more about taking something unlikely and making it fast rather than taking something obvious and already fast, because anyone can buy a fast car even with zero knowlege of cars.
I agree. Gareth the 330d may be slightly faster around a track, but a stock E46 M3 would be much more usable for most of the driving you do in real life. Still interesting to see what's possible with a regular model though, certainly more interesting than doing the series with an M3.

Favourite moment of the series was everytime you reminded everyone about the carthrottle shop even though most of your audience I'd guess hasn't got a drivers license yet.
What labour costs? Most of the mods they did, anyone with a bit of mechanical aptitude could do themselves. Aside from the dyno tune, the rest of it was bolt on parts.
I think he got better just by trying time and time again. It would take a real suspension expert to improve on a stock BMW, even this one. And just because he had a faster car, does not mean he would know how to use it. However this was just a 40 second lap, at Silverstone or Donnington, this could well be 7 or 8 seconds.
Love the build of the 330d. Was fun to watch and loved every episode. My favourite part was fitting the new turbo!! Your face when you pushed the gas for the first time was a sight to see hahaha
Wasn’t faster than an m3 though was it really. 200 laps of a circuit in total to get the time you did, the m3 had 3 laps with a different driver. Completely bias and not a valid comparison.
This isn't about the M3, this is about an estate car evolving step by step, the M3, shown as a target is only meant to be an elusive and inspiring target. This doesn't belittle the M3. Don't be stupid!
My favourite was definitely the summery. You get to see how the car was before and it compared to it now. Just a normal, every day 330d and now a monster. This is definitely my favourite part
E92 m3 = £20k+ E46 build so far £10k Delete the dpf Better intake Oversized injectors Better front mount intercooler You’ll end up with something beating the f10 m3 = £80k+
Some people here think buying an actual E46 M3 would be better but setting up and maintaining an M car takes serious cash. M parts are super pricey and owning one is relatively expensive compared to a 330D. This was a fun build and more affordable. I enjoyed it.

You forgot to add labour cost on installing the upgrades, properly an extra £3K on top of the actual price. I would rather just buy an E46 M3.
sparkplug964 we don’t have these in the states so I’m settling for the M3 as well I’d like that to be my next acquisition!
built not bought... guess your cars on finance hahaha might as well price the cost of tools aswell
E46 M3 is my dream car
What labour costs? Most of the mods they did, anyone with a bit of mechanical aptitude could do themselves. Aside from the dyno tune, the rest of it was bolt on parts.
You didn't watch the series did ya?
As a non youtuber, I'd have bought an M3, but then Alex wouldn't have had a cool series to watch. 10k upgrades for a couple seconds though😱
The moment when you did a better time than the m3, I almost cried
You guys (talking to everyone at CarThrottle) are AMAZING!!! cheers from Uruguay!
I liked the fact that power came last, i think newer tiers would help with laptimes alot since these ones have ben raced a bit :P
My favourite moment was when you didn't give up and went at it until you had the M3 beaten. Also, what happened to Phil?
when you very enthusiastically got all the tools available in this universe 😂 to fit the race chip, that was pretty funny
Favorite moment of the series: buying Volvo S60 Polestar
My favorite part from all the episodes was Alex´s and Ethan´s reaction the car time!!! love the series guys!! Keep up the good work.
Love the build of the 330d. Was fun to watch and loved every episode. My favourite part was fitting the new turbo!! Your face when you pushed the gas for the first time was a sight to see hahaha
Favorite moment was when Alex was telling us how much the 330d costed him... Ahhh good times
Wasn’t faster than an m3 though was it really. 200 laps of a circuit in total to get the time you did, the m3 had 3 laps with a different driver. Completely bias and not a valid comparison.
Alexander Campbell the salt is valid.
Not to mention "timing" system 😲
Alexander Campbell why would the salt be strong when I own a 330d not an m3, I’m just not a mug
Who cares
This isn't about the M3, this is about an estate car evolving step by step, the M3, shown as a target is only meant to be an elusive and inspiring target. This doesn't belittle the M3. Don't be stupid!
You gotta be careful putting that in hibernation, dont disturb it or it'll rip your head of and ask "Which one of you fellers is the real Dirty Dan?"
My favorite part was seeing your reactions when you finally beat the target time! So heartwarming.
Favourite part of the series was seeing the new clutch being installed, loved being able to see what was going on under the shifter
BUY A VOLVO 945 TURBO. ITS UNDER RAITED
It's pretty bad tbh. Takes loads of fuel and it is ugly af.
At least be the 240, it's way better.
@@BurittoSandwich Agree
@@turtle-balloon u are ugly
Favorite moment: when you won your previus lap time
one more funny moment: when you tried to dry the track with what you believe could be most effevtive😂
My favourite was definitely the summery. You get to see how the car was before and it compared to it now. Just a normal, every day 330d and now a monster. This is definitely my favourite part
Favourite part of the series. Going around the corner and taking it like a boss
for fs can we have a video on phil. sick of waiting to hear that v6
it crashed

Really?
Why are alignments so expensive in the U.K wtf
Here in Serbia you can do it for like 20 euros lol
Depends who you take your car too. I paid £30 and they used the newest 4d system at the mercedes garage my mate works at. They charge £120 normally
S19 Pajua they are not, but bmw alignments are because the car needs to have weights in to do correctly
Corner weighting and four wheel alignment are very different to basic 'tracking' that can be done with a length of string.
@@itsallac0nspiracy i know your comment isnt aimed at me but mine wasnt just tracking. Its cheap if you have friends in the industry
Different driver to make it faster! Free!! For everything else there’s MasterCard
I just loved that hybrid turbo episode B) turbos are so much fun to work with and the power you get when you finally get it tuned is immense!
Really liked those slow-mo moments when one side of the car lifted up in the corners
If you had done 200 laps in the M3 and took the best one, the m3's time would still be faster than the best time you got after 200 laps with the 330d.
Yeah, I suppose it was just a bit of fun. 10k though... :/
E92 m3 = £20k+
E46 build so far £10k
Delete the dpf
Better intake
Oversized injectors
Better front mount intercooler
You’ll end up with something beating the f10 m3 = £80k+
It would have shit its rods out before it did 200 laps so yeah it would be faster but wouldn’t be anywhere near as reliable
Favourite moment: gareth, meet gareth
My favorite moment is when you spun out, it was so funny
Some people here think buying an actual E46 M3 would be better but setting up and maintaining an M car takes serious cash. M parts are super pricey and owning one is relatively expensive compared to a 330D. This was a fun build and more affordable. I enjoyed it.
Such a shame there wasn’t a season 2, by far my favorite ct project car
My favourite moment of the series was when you turboed Gareth
When Ethan timed the pooping 😂😂😂😂
My pooping are never on time...
Season 2 plzzzzz
The episode where you changed the coilovers was my favourite because we all learned a lot of valuable information from it
Favorite moment is when you drop the tools from toolbox, for a racing chip installations! Thanks!
Lets take a guess , 8000pound edit: quite close
Where is Phil?
Emil Humped to submission by Garreth
@@PeterOekvist Oh shiiit
How are the potholes? 😏
My favourite part of the series was you showing people that anyone can buy any car and make it fast. Drive at a track. Have a hell of a time.
Favorite moment was when you took on the challenge! 😃 the series was awesome! looking forward to the new generations!
