- Are you a trucker who likes to get a head start on your day? Unfortunately for you, that might not be a great idea if you're driving a lgv (large goods vehicle) or a walking floor trailer.
In this video, we'll explain how early arrivals can result in a £500 fine from the police. We'll also explain the laws relating to tramping and how you can avoid getting caught out. If you're a trucker who likes to start their day early, be sure to watch this video!
If you're a trucker and you're planning on being a few minutes early for your next delivery, be careful... you could end up with a £500 fine.
In this video, we're talking about the dangers of tramping, lgv (light goods vehicles), and walking floor trailers. Be sure to watch to understand the risks involved before you hit the road!
Truckers, be aware! If you're one of the lucky drivers who get to pull over in the middle of the night to take a break, be sure to keep a close eye on your surroundings. Earlier this month, a HGV trucker was robbed at gunpoint while he was stopped for a break.
This is a warning to all truckers - keep your eyes open and don't let your guard down! If you're unlucky enough to be the victim of a robbery, don't hesitate to report the crime to the police. You could be eligible for a hefty £500 fine if you're too late to report the crime!
we'll tell you about a hgv trucker who was robbed while he was on his way to work. If you're a trucker, be sure to be careful and watch your surroundings! This could happen to you too!

My work has a contract with a company which is £500 for being early £1000 for being late 22 min delivery window worst part is the goods being delivered isn't even worth £500
That is mental mate, I would not like to do that delivery what so ever
Then you should change them £1000 if you are not tipped on time. The job is hard enough as it is without dealing with Arse holes like that 👍
@@FK-zr9fn If only, Wish i could meet the person who signed that contract
😂😂
They treat you guys like that when you’re the backbone of the country? That really sickens me man👎 big respect and love to the truckers✌️🏴
Any company that fines for being early should be blacklisted ………..simple
The company is just trying to protect itself say the yard is fully booked and 7 or more hgv rock up early could cause alot more issues.
14' 3" in cab with a 16' 1" Trailer ... Just be careful.
Total respect to truckers. The sh1t you have to go through is unreal !
As an ex-HGV driver of 50 years there isn’t enough money available to get me back in that job,it was bad enough years ago but this has only got worse over the years, glad to be out of the job never to return I’d rather sleep rough.
Depends on the job too though tbf. I'm on walking floors easy job on about 60k and the office leave me alone.
@@Trucking_Tom for 60k a year you must be working all the hours gods sends and sleeping in a wagon
@@Trucking_Tom Your a lucky man,the waste company I worked for couldn’t run a raffle and the office hadn’t a clue how to run transport and had us running around like headless chickens, absolutely clueless and it was council run and all this nonsense was paid for by the council tax payers and it involved millions of pounds,it’s still a shambles now in fact it’s worse now than ever since it was privatised,if the council tax payers knew what was going on they’d go crazy.
@davidellis279 Haha, don't get me wrong, the office lot at my company are a bunch of clowns! I just ignore them as much as possible.
Wow , then they wonder why they can't get drivers ! ! A LOT of responsibility , for peanuts . Vosa chasing , police , CPC all taxing drivers ( fining ) now this ! Hats off to the truckers , you lads deserve much more respect and wages ! Keep it lit lads .....
Hi Jack you forgot to mention we hgv driver have to unload ourselves at LIDL or ALDI Distribution centres and vosa sits outside because they know driver put tacho on break 😡😡
@@stum8374 Yes , they keep their prices low at the expense of truckers !
@@stum8374 only got sent to Lidl onece refused to tip it if you get injured you are not insured by employer or Lidl driver broak his arm while unloading washing machines off 6 weeks statuary sick pay only not even no win no fee basis would take it on
Great video, just be aware of your trailer height. That's a double decker and your trailer height board in the cab is only showing 14.3. Get stopped, get fined. ❤
There should be a software update on lorries with camera wing mirrors like yours where they double as CCTV when parked up, just like Tesla do.
This early payment fee sounds like profiteering to me considering drivers hours, traffic jams etc you would thing they’d be happy you got there early with the load
I went into transport when l left school at 15 in 1966, roped and sheeted for years, became an owner driver early 80s bought a curtainsider 1994 retired in 2018 don't miss it one bit.
Why are you watching videos about truck driving then? 🙂
You'd think companies would be greatful that there delivery has arrived early that's crap
These videos should be essential viewing for any aspiring truck driver.
Why?
Amen to that 😂
@enterkinmedia your not an aspiring Trucker so why watch the vlog in the first place and second why comment on it,the old hands are passing down their knowledge to the youngsters !!!
are you the one that complains to the supermarket when the food is not there 😡
@stum8374 no, I'm a just a trucker with 32 yrs experience who can see past all the gloss!!
@@enterkinmediaIf you don't wanna share you're experiences and help others, fine. Ur an a-hole. continue with your life as it is rn
Great vlog again. Like the map showing the journey. Keep up the good work.
Another good vlogg mate slash of curtains is really big problem even when you pay for so called safe parking!!!
As soon as I saw your H & M truck I thought you'd be at Ansell. I used to work for them and you guys did a great job for us.
As an xtrucker can i give u a word of advice, when crossing straps at rear of pallets put strap BETWEEN pallet top and bottom battons NOT around it
Correct
Simple A. Don`t do any work for them, they will get the message when no one wants to deliver to them B. Report them to HSE, DSVA and Police what they are doing is illegal, all delivery times at advisory.
Anything else and they are coercing the driver/Haulage company to break the law, get your transport manager to read the DSVA handbook
I highly doubt it's illegal.
They're not stupid
@@Robert-cu9bm It's extortion but the police will do nothing. They can't even keep eco terrorists off London's roads.
@@Robert-cu9bm unfortunately they are because they either don't know the law or think that they can get away with it, same as not allowing HGV Drivers to use their toilets... read the DVSA manual you can get it free....
Love the effort and editing you put into these videos. Always an insightful and entertaining watch!
Thank you pal. A lot of hard work behind the scenes so it’s nice to be appreciated 👍🏽👍🏽
Retired now after 40+ years of it.
Wouldn't recommend anyone to go into it now.
The whole industry is well and truly f#£%&d when i was a kid 50odd years ago it was a pleasure going out in the truck with my old fella no fones no trackers it was get yer drop done n run back not really cost effective but by eck the camaraderie between drivers was mint
Thanks for sharing these great videos. really informative as a soon to be new driver. Will subscribe and follow great content. 👍
My understanding is that any financial inducement for potentially breaking the law to arrive at a very specific moment is a criminal offence. It does not mention a payment to the driver/company specifically so, "financial inducement" can probably mean the opposite too.
I fail to see how those charges can be enforced.
@@greenpedal370 don't pay, no future work? It's how gangsters operate.
@@neddyseagoon9601 Sounds like extortion to me.
@@greenpedal370 you won't get an argument from me. There again just how green are these gangster companies if you can't arrive a bit early and park, to avoid being late with that part load because you couldn't schedule an earlier drop elsewhere for fear of being late?
@@neddyseagoon9601 I agree with you
I used to sub for a famous supermarket chain 20 year ago, they had this policy of fining £200 with no regard for anything but themselves ,suffice to say that it didnt last long there.
Don’t deliver to them then simples more fool the company’s who do this !! #killing the trade #glad I’m a veteran driver life’s shit on the road
Great Vids son, don't worry about the SCS comments, you are doing just great, in fact, "bloody brilliant."
The next time they order a new trailer or a new curtain they should order an anti-theft or a slicing-proof one. They cost more but in the long run they are cheaper. There are German manufacturers for these curtains also Krone and Schenker should have them in their catalogue
They still get through them! Woke up next to one a few weeks ago, and they had cut through the whole thing and stole the guys load.
After months of 15 hour days and not enough sleep it scrambles your brain and you start to talk to yourself like this good man . I honestly feel sorry for this chap . He will learn .
I did it for 5 years and that time I physically aged on looks about ten . My back is now shanked.
The stress of what is supposed to be a solitary job on your own .
I used to be in car sales and I was on my mobile more often to depots and customers being customer service than I was selling cars.
Dealing with the most simple of people .I'm sorry this is my honest experience.
Please do not even think about it . Think what you can make of yourself if you spent half that 15 hour day on yourself .
The truth is after a couple of years of doing it your so mentally drained you forget who you are .
More people need your enthusiasm! Great job man.
If you pay a company for parking then they should have some form of security not just washing their hands of the scum who cause the damage to the trucks, its all right putting up the silly notices that you park at your own risk, truckers should boycott these places, that said there's nowhere else to bloody park without getting a fine....glad I'm not a trucker
In the 70s and 80s mway service areas did gave security patrolling it stopped some time in the 90s at liecester forest
Hi Tom those places that do care about loaded hgvs are few so therefore we could boycott but then there won't bee enough spaces for everyone 😡
@@stum8374 I had an answer to the parking problem I refused any job that required a night out
Personally, I hate scheduled transports and I also make it very clear when leaving and when ordering.
It's my way to say my opinion directly and without twists, and if someone can't stand it, it's their problem, not mine.
I once delivered a trailer for demolition 31 hours ahead of schedule.
Of course the recipient tried to accept it but I gave them no choice but to accept it.
I said frankly that I am not interested in the schedule and that the trailer is in that yard and will not leave until it is emptied.
The warehouse manager just laughed and told me that I had scared the entire office staff and shocked their world of values.
They used to say what to do, but now the driver dictates the instructions to them.
The warehouse staff even offered me coffee while I was waiting.
Looks like you forgot to change the incab height marker for yhe double decker? Always try to remember as dvsa will fine you on the spot if they see that! 👍
Man I see u are a hard working, I respect that and good luck with the channel. Stay safe on roads
Hard working, you mean sitting on chair driving 6 out of 8 hrs ? Ocassionally dealing with ppl and reversing twice a day ?
@@MP-pw6rp Work is work. Doesn't matter if you shovel dirt or drive a truck. Even someone sitting at a desk job can be hard working. It's not about destroying your body, it's about pulling in the hours and giving 100% of your spirit.

At a delivery to b&q they refused my delivery as they didn’t have any room for stock, they signed my note for that reason and had to pay £1200 for redelivery
I used to work at that B&Q at redhouse on the home delivery bit, doesn't look like anything has changed there lol
btw the cut in the side is just the check normally go there cut look what inside mark the truck id so can be hit by late
After 37 years in the industry I am out of RDC work, and curtain siders , too many wannabees make you wait to get tipped, 🤬
this is why alot arent wanting to do hgv driving as you be more out of pocket then you earn
All these company's who fine for late or early delivery's should be fined them self's, tesco does it they wo t accept the load if your late , who came up with this dumb idea , wagon drivers should have more help and defiantly more respect 🙏
Truckers should form a union and refuse to deliver to these company's , without deliveries they wouldn't last a week.
B&Q is the only customer like this.£1000 fine at RDC’s
& £200 fine at stores being a day early but not on the day
Being a day before your booked slot is a tad ridiculous though? I was never more than 1 hour early. 24 hours?
Bro you got soooo much patience 🫡

I used to work at a B&Q depot for 12 years & heard about firms getting fined for being early & fined for being late after taking to a few blokes that used to deliver to my old depot after I left. Maybe things have changed but they didn’t have clue what they where doing 10 years ago
Hi Nice video When u loaded those pallets. I thought u were suppose to start at the front against the head board. Are you afraid of catching someone cutting the sheeting on your trailer , i ask because they must have a knife or something sharp which they would use
I never got any of that with shipping container delivery an collection's.
Fab Vlog Mr. Trucking UK 😎👏👏
Hello There
Why you don't use box trailer with opening side like i do? More secure, less straps, security on high level and openings or closing fadter then yours. Brand new truck but trailers are cheap rubbish
Was that on Wednesday night @ Norton Canes by any chance?
Nice vid... drive safe pal
Hi can you please tell me what camera you are using. Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
in your description, LGV stands for Large Goods Vehicle, not light goods vehicle.
Nice one lad 👍
That truck is looking super cool.
0:10 loads of room, more that i have inside some indoor turning circles
Fined for being early fined for being late turn up in time and you're there 3 hours to be tipped glad I got out of that game
Nice 😉greetings out off the netherlands
Brother, this isn’t criticism, just a heads up from one trucker to another. When you strapped up that double decker and left for Doncaster you can clearly see in your in-cab POV that your height indicator is still set to 14’3. That trailer must be 16 foot minimum? If vosa pull you over they’ll fine you for that. We’ve all done it XD stay safe. Great vid :)
Why would you have bottom deck with empty spaces and top deck full , I would have got flt driver to have dropped them down on to the bottom deck
Good video bud
Curtain slashing and theft from trucks isn't a new issue it's been happening since we started using curtains. It's not just confined to the UK it's a world wide problem.
Another story will be truck drivers refuse to go to company that fined £500 pounds for arriving early. Full restitution will stop this.
Great video
Trucking is so crap in the Uk i have been doing it for 23 years and its gone to pot the Job i done many deliverys to BQ swindon same set up as Doncaster .
How you dropping trailer without legs and cables ? You editing the vid ,???
Front heavy to me the weight should be axle forward 😂
I would not want to deliver to such a company
Hmmmm quick question when you swapped to a 16”1’ DD why did your in cab height stay at 14”3’ are you a bridge strike waiting to happen ?😂😂😂
14.3 hight indicator with a decker on the back 👏
Wow well spot it 😂😂
I do forget to change the height sometimes but by law we meant to have the right height 😅
You absolutely right, but we all been there:) on his defence and every dedicated driver , you are fully aware what you pulling . As a TRUE , professional and dedicated driver , you know exactly what you’re doing, and how to handle 44T. I heard stories from “experienced “ drivers who been driving for 35years , and they couldn’t even bay up for 15/20 min. Seen it myself 🤦🏼♂️ , yeah to the moon and back. Real driver can drive , but still my friend you absolutely right. We need to set height indicator just to be on legal side . Wish you all the best . Be safe out there brothers:)
Just to let you know I dont think those double deckers are 14ft 3" buddy...more like 16ft 1" ..always make sure you change your height marker to the correct height
First thing I noticed. The Young man must have forgotten to set the correct height.
Some people just aren't cut out for this job
The load isn’t secure on the double decker, those internal straps do nothing and also DVSA will fine you for using them
You my friend haven’t got a cloud what you on about 😪 look into the law and come back with a better comment my friend
@@truckinguk I have got a clue what I’m on about, been doing the job for 30 years. A lot longer than you
By the looks of it you haven’t got a clue what you on about my brother.
Now a days we have an amazing tool called internet you should use it
Bad idea using headcam, can cause dizziness to viewer.
These straps look complicated
Only courts can impose fines. They could call it a penalty fee but either way that's a load of crap.
Exactly no company is going to pay these so called fines and drivers don't have £500 in their wallet.
Boycott the companies that are issuing these penalty fees remember the old adage without trucks you get nothing
It is one of tgose thing unfortunately as drivers we have to deal with, as annoy as it is!
And how much can you fine the company your delivering to that even though you are on time but for some reason or other they can't unload you?
It's an unfair term if similar terms cannot be applied in reverse but guys want the repeat work so they just accept it.
I arrived early once before this fines business and was told to reverse out onto the road and come back in half an hour. My 4.5 hours were about up so I abandoned the truck in the gateway, locked it, gave the guard the keys and told him to move it on his tacho and walked off with my kit. Sat on a verge nearby and had coffee. It didn't take long until a boss turned up to see the queue and wheedle and whine until I decided to, tacho out, drive in and continue my break.
These folk are often frustrated Hitlers, even with an empty yard, it's "oh no you can't come in".
I've lost count of loads I simply drove away with once the stupidity started only to do it all for the same loons again the next day.
What’s the pay like for your company
grumpy guy at security gate house a regular occurrence in this job
Double decker trailer. There's no way your 14ft 3 in"s . Somebody didn't do their height check. Tut, tut.
YOU ARE COMMERCE - YOU ARE A TARGET - TO STOP BEING ABUSED REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE SYSTEM
WHEN ALL FAILS, WE UNITE, WE TAKE BACK CONTROL. THAT SIMPLE. YOU HAVE TO LOSE TO GAIN SOMETIMES.
That is totally crazy 😢
I am glad I drove coaches and not HGVs
This is just something else that will chase drivers away from the haulage industry
Wait wait wait, I understand people get fines for being late, but too early? 😂
put up cameras to catch them
Anyone can help me I have heavy tuck licenses I am in Qatar I want to move to Europe 😢
Class 1 adr cpc. Jobs not worth doing for the pay treated dirt
don,t bother with a ghv licecence the health repercussionces are not worth it.. I'm 77, I spent most of my life diving hgv's don't do it. repercussions?
14'3 double decker???
Yes I used to deliver to B&Q Swindon, fined if turned up more than 30 mins early or late
If every haulier refused to deliver to them I think this ridiculous rule would soon get abolished, who the hell do B and Q think they are, don’t they realise accidents and road works cause delay’s, it’s not a bus service hauliers are running and getting there at all is a miracle sometimes, just boycott them and watch their reaction it would soon change.
You didnt change you height marker i know that decker is at least 16'
I know mate 😂😂
I love your 14 3 DD :))
Is good video but plese you make longer. 10 minutes she is not long enough. Thanking you.
I think it is OK to get fine for being early but NOT for being late. It is illegal for safety reasons same way like getting bonuses.
I dont think its okay to get fined for being early, like 'Dude I planned for the usual 2hr rush traffic but it was only 1hr today' .... 'oh dear so I can't pay any bills this month'.
Not a fine, only government can give fines.
Good content but headcam makes it really hard to watch
Height indicator 14 3 for a double decker 🤔
Or sht man 😂😂 completely forgot about it
Even the first trailer was higher than 14.3 😂
Still a great video though, as a driver trainer it great to see drivers thinking of safety, keep up the good work 👍
Not the first trailer was 14.3 as I did it on Tuesday and had it on my for 3 days. I always try to do the job as best as I can 😅
That’s alright with me
Too busy making problems to do the job properly and stay legal..
