This would be from c. 1962, when the building was built. The 1976 date is definitely incorrect here, and Variable Frequency AC (VF-AC) is also incorrect here, even if the permit says it (that would indicate it's modded with an AC motor and a solid state controller, which definitely isn't the case here).
@@clarkloveselevators These Westinghouse buttons were last used in the early (or maybe mid) 1960s, so it was immediately obvious to me that the date was wrong. In this case, I looked up when the building was built (I can't recommend any specific website that's best/most accurate). The other trick you can use is that the state ID number itself can give you a rough idea (maybe within a few years, maybe even more precise) of when an elevator was installed, at least with experience. They seem to be mostly sequential, meaning lower numbers = older elevators, higher numbers = newer elevators. Very old elevators are an exception (I think for installations older than the 1920s or so, the numbers are in more of a random order, always fairly low, but a 2 or 3 digit state ID (rarely seen) doesn't mean it's one of the oldest elevators in the state. I'm not sure about the accuracy of installation dates, but in terms of the "power" (Gen Field, VV-AC, etc) as it's listed on the permit (pretty sure the info on the state's records is what's put on the permit, so the permit will have the same errors), this kind of error is very unusual in my experience, at least on permits (where it says it's a newer type of power, as if it has been modernized even though it hasn't been), unless the elevator has the wrong permit in it (swapped with a different car at the same address) which I have seen a few times. What's MUCH more common is that often when an elevator is modernized, the state does NOT update the information in the database (and thus, the permit) to reflect the modernization. It will say "Gen Field" on the permit even though it's been modernized and should say VV-DC or VV-AC.
There was one I found in Bethesda in 2022 that was installed in the 1960’s
Awesome elevators!
Ayyyy. You’re back again!

Thanks for the info I’ll update it when I can! Guess we can’t trust the CA gov docs lol
Do you have a source that you use to identify things like date of installation or the day the building was built etc?

Thanks!
@@clarkloveselevators you’re welcome. Are you taking a break from UA-cam, you haven’t found any new elevators to film or what?
I’m guessing you’re not uploading for a while because you’re busy with life just like everybody else is busy with real life.
