    I like how you come up with reviews about things that most people wouldn't even think of on the average.

      I'm surprised. I didn't look too much to see if there's many other videos on the topic, but I was expecting there would be a lot more videos like this since ARs are so common. I mostly just wanted to add some detail from my own experience and research on the topic.

      @@Feldmutze I think you should look into odd parts and how to improve them. Like me figuring out this spring. I'm sending you something now I found, on how to improve the ar platform just from small details like this, might be a good thing for everyone. Might boost your page even since it's niche that isn't really filled.

    I'd gotten a Strike Industries polymer dust cover before Magpul came out with theirs. I put it on an Aero upper but discovered it wouldn't freely swing open. Either the upper was out of spec and was too thick, or the dust cover was out of spec and too thick. Either way, just lightly sanded the "guide rod" portion of the dust cover until it opened freely. Hadn't had problems for the past 3 or 4 years.

    Interesting video topic!
    I think your Barrett mrad deserves its own video 👌 💯

      Glad you found it interesting, and thanks for the suggestion!
      I'm probably not going to do a video on the MRAD as I don't have a sufficient depth of knowledge on it, as it's my father's rifle. For context, the reason I did the PSG-1 style pistol grip video is because I gifted him that grip and at the time I was assisting him with some accuracy testing on it, but as far as an actual dedicated video, I'd need a lot more time behind the gun.
      My father did however do a First Impressions review of it on his channel a few months ago here: ua-cam.com/video/1XFiCSGVF9s/v-deo.htmlsi=NYRF54VCovT9XBPo

    I’ve been using the SI one since they came out years ago on all my builds. No issues granted I run all mil spec BCM forged uppers so haven’t ran into installation issues.
    Truly one of the only SI products worth running.

    Great topic to cover for those interested in the platform’s every component. I use HK covers on nearly all my builds with v7 rods and HK springs

      Nice, I'm in the same boat as I stocked up on a lot of spare HK dust covers a while back. I do wish the HK covers had an internal gasket like the SI or Magpul ones, but even so, they still work quite well.

    What is the brand of the green rifle? The handguard looks clean fit to the upper receiver. Thanks.

      @Feldmutze  3 місяці тому

      It's a Gibbz side-charging MG4 upper receiver with a Wilson Combat 13.8" handguard.

    I found that the Mapul dust cover has issues with over gassed guns due to the speed of the bolt being so fast that it sometimes chucks the round into the cover before it can get out of the way. Thought it was just pure cycling issue at first but after taking the cover off, the gun cycled fine...violent, but fine. So, after turning the gas down a good bit, I tossed the Magpul back on and magically 0 issues. This is a sample size of 1 mind you, so don't take my word as gospel lol.

    What is that lower that's paired with that Gibbz Arms upper?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  Місяць тому

      It's an old DPMS lower that I modified to take a 416A5 ambi bolt catch then had cerakoted.

      @@Feldmutze That looks way nicer than the PDQ lever. Does Sig sell their Sig Spear ambi bolt catch as an aftermarket part?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  Місяць тому +1

      I haven't tried the PDQ myself to say much in-depth, but comparing it to this one, I do like that on this A5 bolt catch the left side paddle is quite a bit larger than the milspec or on the PDQ.
      I'm not sure on the Sig Spear bolt catch availability (or compatibility for that matter), but the 416A5 ambi bolt catch is pretty readily available from somewhere like Blue Ridge Supplies or Haus Manufacturing.

    Does the HK grip fit standard lowers? Price?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  3 місяці тому

      Yes, most HK 416 parts will fit on regular AR-15s. I've actually done a video dedicated to that topic here if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/U7sUkNyaE3E/v-deo.html
      I'm using two HK grips. The Adaptive Grip I'm using is currently going for $115, and the V7 battle grips are ~$60.

    • @Zel_eo
      @Zel_eo 3 місяці тому

      It will fit standard lowers. As for price, the only one I could find is $114 on blue ridge supply. Specifically you are searching for "HK 416,417, MR556, MR762 ADAPTIVE GRIP (RAL8000)". I would grab it quick if you want it...HK parts don't stay around long.

    4:51 Spark throwing from bi-metal ammo?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  3 місяці тому +2

      The sparking is from the titanium suppressor I'm using, an SLH762Ti. I'm not sure if most other titanium suppressors have as bad sparking but all ammo through this suppressor sparks up a ton.
