From Homelander and now Plutonian, I'm starting to think Superman is special because he's mature. He doesn't just help people, he inspires them to do better on their own.
Besides having a docile temper, Superman had lots of real love and guidance. His adoptive parents never feared him and viewed him as a true son. They showed him good morals and hospitality and taught him to treat others fairly. He doesn't have a strict "no kill" rule like Batman, but he doesn't kill in general because he was taught to see the good in others. Plutonian and Homelander act good in the public eye for the sake of validation and because they don't know real love. That's why Plutonian is obsessed with Noir and Homelander with milk and mothers. They're mentally broken and emotionally stunted.
Homelander and plutonian are pressured into being perfectionists because they think they can only be loved or hated. They're the dark sides of humanity because we often want validation and change to what we think others will like, often leading to the same frustration or depression. It's awesome that these versions exist to see that and compare them to Superman

I'm not surprised Mark Waid would think 2 black heros with electric powers was too many and a stereotype. I'm also not surprised people would count Jamie Foxx's electro, who was only black in the movie, and Storm, who controls the weather, which technically includes lightning, but she does not have electricity powers. "We made Electro black for diversity!" "Great. Now you need to fix the stereotype of black characters and electricity powers."
Lots of twist and turns. Very similar in daily life. You get verbally abuse every day unless you stay home and don’t do anything or enter act with anyone. Very good stuff.
