    I replaced the 46t chainring with a 52t and replaced the 12-32 cassette with an 11-28. I can do meaningful pedaling even at 30mph. Most ebike riders couldn't care less about pedaling, don't want to pedal, have no idea why you'd want to pedal, lol.

      I realised that pretty quickly. All the reviews for my battery (720wh) were stating a 40-60km range at 75-80kg.
      I pulled 115km off a charge with throttle set to max the offer day. Only used throttle for roughly half the ride though.

      @@elecruiser definitely. I lost my licence as have a job at a cafe atop the ranges behind my house and do a lot of mountainous state Forest camping. The motor is wound to a 28km max at 42v.
      The first fire road is around 1.5km from my gate, but it gains 650m elevation in 4.1km so I need all the low gearing I can get. And then it goes back down another 320m and then back up 480m over another 6km which is the bane of my existence.
      I don't think I'd be alive without my 40t.

    Most e-bikes hit a 100 RPM spinning range (ie. clown pedaling) on level 2 (out of 5) of pedal assist, - they are clearly not designed by people who actually ride bikes. My guess is the designers simply use the bicycle as a moped after level 3 pedal assist.

    • @elecruiser
      @elecruiser  Рік тому +1

      Depends on what you have now on rear and front and do you still need a pretty low gear. If it's a typical 14-28T Freewheel, change it to 11-28T. 48T chain ring is marginal. 50+ is better. If you need a low gear for steep inclines, stick with 48, or 50.

  • @ozzie444

    11x34 is a better freewheel ratio than the 11x28. The stock chain will still work even with a 48T chainring.

      Sorry, don't understand why you need a 34, very low for an ebike, at least in Florida. Can see it for steep up and downs, but the bike that came with 14-28T is likely the wrong bike for that kind of riding. Anyway, sounds like you're happy, so, #milesofsmiles!

    Who's clown pedaling their ebike? The motors have a proper cassette already and you do not have to keep pedaling in order to keep the motor going, you only have to get it started. Seems like a pointless video to me.

    • @elecruiser
      @elecruiser  Рік тому +1

      Hmmm. Interesting comment. Some companies have provided an effective freewheel, so for those you're ok. But, indeed you do have to keep pedaling or the PAS signal stops and so does the motor. In high PAS, a low ratio can have you spinning too fast.

    • @sylver369
      @sylver369 Рік тому

      @@elecruiser No... You actually don't. All it is sensing is the fact the motor is moving. Loads of people in my city have electric bikes and not one of those people are pedaling while riding, they're just hitting the throttle. How can you be so wrong?

    • @sylver369
      @sylver369 Рік тому

      @@lucideuphoria7092 Not constantly like the uploader is claiming. They only need to pedal up to 10kph then they can hit the throttle and go, they do not keep pedaling while hitting the throttle.

      @@sylver369 The nice thing about these bikes is you have complete choice. Ride it as you describe, pedal only, pedal assist, throttle only, however you want. We have MANY riders who pedal out to max speed at Class 3. BTW, not sure what you mean by "sensing the fact that the motor is moving." That is incorrect. I think you meant sensing the fact that the pedals are rotating. That in conjunction with mechanical gears with the right gearing let's you pedal meaningfully up to max speed. Check our ua-cam.com/video/6O5MYyhOPSI/v-deo.html video. 43mph pedaling with a max PAS. Thanks for the comments.
