She did Great Vocals on this Tune.👌🏾
One of the best albums of the 80's. Still playing it to this day.
My fav parachute club song. Like many they were so talented but underrated. Still listening in 2024 and onwards…
This song is imprinted in my soul. It was on the radio a lot when I was 8-9 years old. So great to learn of the Mayan connection, it’s a very spiritual song, thank you
This is one of my top 10 favorite ‘80s songs. It’s so sonically interesting throughout and different from almost anything else from the era. If only that kind of richness carried forward in time, but the opposite happened.
Always loved this song for the sense of mystery and mysticism that it imparted. One of the songs that was in my top ten list from the 1980s.
The video is still amazing to watch. just beatiful.
Feet of the moon & Rise Up, Love and Compassion are Still on my epic play list to this day, thanks for all the memories.
This was Toronto in 84. Friday/Saturday nights at The Forum. Memories never fade away. Thank you Lorraine.
Love that song and video
wow who knew feet of the moon was about Mayans. crazy. i love this. i must hear these two songs at least once a week. one time i just auto replayed all the way to work Rise up and Feet of the moon. over and over.. i'm not embarassed about it. these rise up got me through some tough times man. my sister passing, i could not listen to music for about 3 months, then Rise up was the first and i danced and sang and it is a vitamin for happiness, energy and they are Canadian woo hoo. so proud and i Love Toronto
One of my fave all time.
I heard this when it was fresh at the University De Moncton in New Brunswick at the student club pounding out of their system there. We were on a trip from school to check out the university and this song with it's catch lyrics and strong base really struck a cord with me. I graduated in 85 after an extended program because I got caught half way through the semester jumping buses to get 25 miles away to where my girlfriend lived so we could hang out and make out all day. I married that girl and in 2027 we will have our 40th anniversary together. Ironically she hates this song but I love it enough for both of us.
I love her so much
I love Lorraine's voice..so beautiful
This song and band should be far more famous....Amazing...
This song puts me back in the 80's as a kid.
By far this song was played with the most air time on the best radio station on planet earth out of Lethbridge Alberta. LA-107.
I love the 12 " of this !!!!!!!
I adore this song, and am so glad they did this!
Love the song, great commentary.
This song, still to this day. Sends shivers down my spine. When I picked up the record a couple years ago. I kept playing this song over and over. And after an hour or so, I finally played the rest. But the day after I was right back at playing it over and over. It was like I couldn't get my stereo to go loud enough. I would love to hear this blasting out of a million watt p.a. system.
One of my all-time favorite bands. Play their albums all the time.
What a Great Band !! 1983-84.....their songs flattenned needles at radio stations in Ottawa that`s 4 sure !!!... Lorraine Segato...... such a Unique sounding voice ! :)
Loved her on the west coast too, great music
one of my fav 80s band
This band never got the recognition that they deserved. Absolutely brilliant musicians and this single in particular is unlike anything else you would ever hear. They we're probably a bit ahead of their time which may have stunted their success a touch.
The competition for airspace in the early 80s was fierce, so many bands to choose from, if you are still there after 4yrs.
Brilliant, love it!
that song is amazing, love the progressions\
Daniel Lanois was interviewed on Marc Maron's podcast and he brought up Bill Bryan. First I ever I heard anyone in the US give a shout out to Parachute Club who I have adored (along with their Toronto label mates Martha and the Muffins).
I even love her speaking voice.
Great song! I've always loved the bass playing on this tune-- great part that really propels the song, and fantastic tone.
i love that song. toronto sound
I love this song.. so underrated.
Such a great groove!
This song of the 80s is truly my favorite song ever along with Bananarama's Cruel Summer hit long live the 80's
I have a various artists vinyl compilation from '85 called "Chartbusters" put out by Quality records, and it contains an exclusive mix of this song that's not available anywhere else. The harmony vocals are higher in the mix, it has some extra percussion in places, and the vocals have a repeat echo effect added in various sections of the song. Also the "shaddap-bap-boop-ba-doo-yeah" section has instruments in it along with the vocals, instead of just vocals like it is everywhere else.
Wonder if Lorraine knows about it and / or has heard it?
I used to play this a lot when I was a kid
Great song
I had quite the crush on Ms. Segato when this album came out.
Anonneemuss So did we :)
Still do. Even more, the power of her voice and words.
I was a little fella when this was on the radio.
Happy birthday Peedar
I wonder if At the Feet of the Moon (for lack of knowing the Mayan way of saying his name) ever heard this song, and if he did I wonder if he recognized her voice. Imagine what it feels like to know you inspired a hit song... As it's not a Northern Pikes song that is.
I'm a battle scarred patched biker who will gladly beat the snot out of anyone who looks at me sideways for liking The Parachute Club.
Ha ha, ride free brother!
Extreme case of man-hands, and voice.
