Glad to live in the EU as the European Court decided OEM-keys can be sold to private persons too. As far as I know still illegal in the USA but most EU webshops won't ask where you're from ;-)
Yeah, I always thought these were scams, and for my last build, I paid like $15 CAD for a windows key, and voila it worked, just downloaded windows install to USB stick and everything worked. It was from a website a youtuber was promoting, and I Actually "clicked the link in the description" as they say.
Yeah windows are so expensive, not to mention that they gain everything. They make people pay for $100 dollars, then steals the persons data and sells it for more profit.
lol, been playing runescape for 15 years here and watched the give away portion thinking if I was there I'd walk up and say "runescape" and get the shock of my life! Awesome video!!
Seeing the one couple walk out with the PC they were buying, when Greg was finally giving the PC away. When they passed Greg by like 4 times. Couldn't help but laugh.
They actually asked me in line if I had just won it and congratulated me on it. Didn’t realize they were the same people until I saw them in the video.
I know the couple that got the pc they are the sweetest, and greatest people/parents I’ve met in my life so glad to see them get so lucky! (He also sent me this video to watch! Definitely subscribing now)
Someone very happy with his new system. Good to see. And as he probably is a new subscriber to this channel, have fun with it. Happy gaming, sir! Thought those Micro Centre employees put some posters at the entrance with Greg's face and the warning "DO NOT SPEAK TO THIS MAN", LOL
How is Greg's brother system doing, remember he built it about a week ago? Good prank, everybody was ignoring you...the look on the employee's face was priceless too.
I wish they'd open a store in Europe and ship products all over Europe. We need a store with the value MicroCenter offers. I haven't seen any other stores offer combos and good discounts like them.
love Micro Center. I live by the Tustin location and all my major builds were from motherboard cpu combos from Micro Center. Don't go enough just to randomly bump into Paul's Hardware or JayzTwoCents. Greg, keep doing what you're doing. I enjoy watching your content. I've been upgrading and building my own PCs since I got my my first Packard Bell 8088 back in the 1980s when I was in 5th grade. First full build was an AMD 386 DX 40Mhz PC in the early 90s.
I love how microcenter is becoming to be more like frys electronics in terms of building interior and how much there is to do inside now that they are able to afford to add more to their store. Giving me nostalgic vibes when hanging at frys. Microcenter use to be pretty tiny inside and old.
@@Kari-SF Frys was amazing, they were massive and had everything you'd want in PC building and tech and they even had an entire cafe which was very cool. I use to hangout there all the time with friends. Only problem with frys was how overpriced everything was. I miss it too though even though it had issues.
This MC has been the same since it opened in 2014, it's a simplified, more open version of the old layout. The Fry's that was a few miles away had historical display pieces, furniture and even a whole café & lounge in the center.
What a great video! I'm an old pc building dinosaur. My first pc build was an Intel 386SX16 around 1991 from components that I "carefully" shopped for from the old 300+ pages of COMPUTER SHOPPER magazine (available at every Kroger/Walmart nationwide). I'll never forget my first build because it seemed like it took forever for the parts to arrive from UPS & / or Fedex or US Mail. It was a simple system but it worked & had a 16 bit SoundBlaster card and VESA monitor that blew everybody away! That setup and little upgrades here and there played Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem, Doom, Redneck Rampage, Postal & The Operative: No One Lives Forever. Thirty+ years later, gray haired, my children long since grown, I'm still a PC Gamer. A keyboard and mouse is all I need. I've always been a shooter fan. I'm playing Deathloop right now and its making me mad but it plays great...(I won't buy a just a released bleeding edge shooter for full price... I'll wait for the price to go down on Steam and let the publisher fix the bugs before the next big Steam sale.) When I was watching your video asking customers "What is your favorite PC video game?" I admit I had a bit of a brain f*rt. I'm playing Deathloop right now, but when your video pinned me with the question I had to start thinking. Bioshock popped in my head. Call of Duty: Block Ops 3 -Zombies, Age of Empires (not Age of Empires 2 + +), Doom 3, Far Cry New Dawn, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Half Life, Left 4 Dead!, Saints Row 3... I messed this post up! How could I forget Serious Sam (all of the releases)! ! Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (2001)! Wolfenstein: The New Order and the Old Blood!! If you want to go really old skool (after Y2K but before 9/11) I'd like to nominate Steam/Valve's Team Fortress Classic. Team Fortress Classic was a full on dogfight back in the day. Thank you for youtubing the video. That was awesome!
I love the Houston MicroCenter. That said, the spot it is around looks like a really rough neighborhood. Credit to your camera crew for framing those exterior shots well.
Ah, I love watching these videos. I wanted to build a gaming pc so bad but just lost my job so now I can't do that until things are looking up. 😪 anyways awesome video Greg!
thats so funny i was thinking what would i have responded and jokingly thought of Runescape, and then just saw when him responded and im here like WHAT REALLY NO WAY, respect
It's actually a very clever idea Greg, cuz the dude that approached you deserved it. He was just glad to talk to someone about his favorite PC game. He didn't even expect you to give him the PC, I think he just wanted to tell you about Runescape. 😆
I cannot wait for the new Micro Center to open in Charlotte NC early next year. It will be just over an hour away from me. I'll probably make a lot of day trips there.
Usually when I go to that store there is a line at the build it yourself counter and another at the checkout. You managed to get there when there were very few customers and people usually don't want to get in the way of someone filming. I love wandering around at that store and the employees are great.
Man, I live in Houston and could've used it. 😢 Although I'm on the other side of Houston but it's definitely worth the 45-minute drive. Love the channel.
You are killing a bunch of us watching your videos. We don’t live anywhere close to you or a Micro Center. I do like the videos and giveaways. Me and my 11 year old AMD system will soldier on. So keep making content for us.
Is it weird of me to say Universe Sandbox is my favorite PC game? I just like the simulation, playing around with physics, and seeing what happens. It's like something I'd have played a lot as a kid if it had existed. I loved games where you could plug in data and have different results. I remember a car building simulator in our computer science class in 8th grade. Once you did the wind tunnel tests and saw the results of your design, you could take it out on the track and see how fast its actual lap speeds were. Fun times.
The reason no one responded probably has something to do with the fact you were awkwardly holding up a sign like that in Houston. I've been trying to get a family member in Houston to check out that store for a couple years now. They have lived in Houston for years and built PC's for the last 30 years yet somehow has never stepped foot into a Microcenter.
I wish they would build a micro center in Arizona, the closest one to me is 7 hours away. Love you shows Greg, your so much fun to watch, and keep up the great work you do.
Wish there was a Micro Center in the Bay Area. Had one in Santa Clara before Covid then they closed. So sad. Now 400 miles to L.A. before you find one. Hey Micro Center, open a store back up in San Jose CA please!!
Your walking around with a 6 foot plus sasquatch aka Josh from Fractal Design AND trying to give away an Intel GPU ... That would scare anyone away! LOL Great video! Thanks Greg :)
As a system builder, it’s amazing how expensive these prebuilt are. I recently repaired a microcenter prebuilt for a customer, they only had 3 motherboard screws holding the board in among a list of other issues.
That was awesome. Although I wonder why were you carrying that massive back pack the whole time. I was literally waiting the whole video to see if it meant something. Like pulling an additional graphics card out of it or something. Anyways good stuff giving back. Honestly it kind of blows my mind at a computer store not more people actually know who you are.
