These ladies represent their religion so well. I know nothing about Muslim or being one but their talks are starting to make me think there must be something great there because of these ladies.

there are definitely gems within the religion and the community, these women are great. but also no community is perfect and as they have said in their previous videos there are lots of problems in our community we ignore and brush under the rug but its the freaking elephant in the room and everyone knows its there.

Dhynasah Çakir just because there are issues in the community it doesn’t mean the religion of Islam is flawed. Every community is flawed. But our religion is beautiful and fylosofy if your interested in islaam you should look into it, you won’t be disappointed ❤️

My X wife told me that I don't make her happy . I explained to her that she has to find her own happiness. I can make you smile , tell a joke , take you out for dinner but that's not where you're going to find your happiness. If you're constantly following behind someone waiting for them to drop a piece of their happiness so that you can pick it up , that's never going to happen.

imaslowlerner you sir did what you could and that is all you can do. happiness in this life has become a tarnished concept. Happiness for Muslims means we know for a fact that we are walking on a Path that leads to Allah and that we will be satisfied if He is pleased with us. But the actual feeling of pleasure, lack of anxiety, lack of sadness, and everything we can associate with « happiness » has nothing to do with the higher state we should be aspiring to. I have a clinical condition that messes with my brain chemicals and hormones, a condition solely attached to the body and not who I inherently am, but my core as a soul and human is joy and bliss because all I care about is to Know Allah. And I know His path is the straight path. My point is, sometimes we think that happiness can be found in things or people but that becomes a mere distraction for what is fundamentally more important: His satisfaction with us. And I cannot begin to tell you how that is a thousand times better. I hope we all understand this one day because this way, life trials become absolutely bearable and meaningful.

Happiness is transient, just like grief, anger, disappointment etc... just like Aliyah said, it can not be found in people or things. Of course there are people who will bring us much joy and happiness... but these same people have the capacity to bring us much sadness and heartache. There are several definitions of happiness... contentment, a sense of well being, a sense of peace... but you can have a sense of peace even though your circumstances are NOT good.
As Muslims, when we focus on our Salah (even on the days when Salah seems SO hard to do) we can have a mind set that says " I trust you Allah, my life is tough, I feel lost but I trust you " , and this is enough. We live in a world that screams at us to "be entertained, give me things, give me status, distract me, make things easy" and we have lost a very basic disposition of being human... NOT ALL TIMES IN OUR LIVES WILL BE GOOD, PRODUCTIVE, AMAZING, SUCCESSFUL... Sometimes the "dark night of the soul" is where we need to be to regroup and refocus and go back to basics.
You know, some days I feel ALL I can do is breathe... I don't even know how to organise the thoughts in my brain... I can even be TOTALLY blank.... TOTALLY.
Thank you all for sharing this, it's a very important topic... not the achieving of happiness but the chosing to be content within the trials and to live in reality... to draw back the curtains of "striving to get to the better place" because we can MISS so much and waste SO much time AND worse, we can overlook what Allah Subhanuhu wa ta'ala wants to teach us.

what I realised from my life experience and - I could be wrong - is that, social life does contribute to one's happiness. I realised when I was in Africa with difficulties and hardship life, we had so much social life, our doors were open for each other in the community. poor life but more happiness I experienced back then. what I wished back then which I thought was going to make me perfectly happy and more happy, I got them in my adult life however the happiness wasn't present. that's why they've introduce this social media network for happiness but still can never be compared to the social life I had as a child.
I came to believe that you're either "poor" with social life or "rich" with no social life.

For me, i think that happiness exists in this life as well as in the Akhirah.Because we know how it feels and that's why we are in search for it.But the difference is that it doesn't last forever in this Dunya.
Secondly, happiness is found through Allah, through his obedience, through his worship, through all that's pleases Him.And yeah, through being positive about life and about people's behaviors towards you.Through being forgiving, being loving and being caring regardless of how cruel the world around you might be.There might be hard times but that's where patience is required, so no problem cuz it's not gonna last forever.Hope in God works wonders too! And yeah, Smiles work too☺

@@amala1874 Hi! I just went to check Sumayyah's podcasts upon your suggestion. I picked one to listen to, her talk on the trust in Allah, and that we plan but Allah plans too.
I must say I was a bit disappointed. Sumayyah does not display in this talk the level of maturity that I expect from her, she comes out more like a young teenager bedazzled by the big world of politics, diplomats, best hotels, glamor of the rich and famous... it's understandable to be grateful to Allah for healing her after the loss of a baby by events that happen afterwards, but all these wows and wows and dozens of it was amazing it was amazing and how much she was impressed with the glitzy world she happened to be in.... yes it's all fine and dandy for a young person to enjoy it, but not be in the seventh heaven because of it, oh no... especially after.... and especially not for a pious woman....

Allah is what we expect Him to be. If you are going through problems, and you decide to settle and believe that things are not going to get better, opting to wait for the hereafter to be happy, then your life may well continue to be full of problems, because this is what you expect from Him. That is your defining of your faith in Him.
We need to think well of our Creator. I don't believe that the Most Merciful placed here to torture us. He wants us to exercise our faith and belief in Him when things get rough. Ask for the best of both worlds (the Dunya and the hereafter) or whatever it is you are trying to achieve, and be optimistic that you will get it because optimism is faith.
Whenever The Prophet (sws) got into serious problems, he didn't say, 'oh well... I got heaven guaranteed for me anyway, so khalas I am not going to make an effort here on Earth anymore.." No. The opposite. He made even more of an effort to achieve his goals regardless of his circumstances, and he succeeded.

Our religion is the perfect way of life because it's well balanced. It reject all kind of extremism and all forms of negligence. Do not attached the soul to the pleasures of this duniya and do not neglect it given portion.
    Allah says :
"But seek, with that (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of legal enjoyment in this world, and do good as Allah has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allah likes not the Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupts)"
    -Sura Al-Qasas, Ayah 77
The story of these great Sahabah is yet to teach us a great lesson about life.
Salman’s (R) advice for Abu Darda’
Once Salman (R) went to visit Abu Darda and found his wife upset. She said “your brother, Abu Darda’ does not have a desire in this word.” Salman (R) advised his brother “Your Lord has a right upon you, your self has a right upon you and your family has a right upon you. Fulfill your rights towards each one.”
Saying no happiness in this world is wrong but attaching one's self to it is also wrong. In between choose the just way.
    Allah says :
    "وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَسَطٗا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ شَهِيدٗاۗ "
"Thus We have made you [true Muslims - real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) be a witness over you."
    -Sura Al-Baqarah, Ayah 143

Subhana Allaah...i see happiness like sadness, anger ect. These are emotions and emotions come and go it should not be the goal...personally I seek contentment and Allaah gives that to whom HE pleases. It is HOW we choose to take things...you can be positive or negative...you can give ithers the benefit of the doubt or assume the negative. We have to make the conscious choice to be positive and have a good opinion about Allaah and what we face from 1 day to the next...and Allaah knows best. Jazakillaahu khayr great talk

    Love seeing women like this.
    Women being like this.
Instead of promoting narcissism..these sisters talk about the real deal. Sincerity is everything..if people would know this..and be it. Practice it every day..we would have more happiness in this world.
But integrity and true sincerity is hard to find.
But I want to give these sisters props..for at least a drop of realness in the drop of this pool of fakeness.
I believe 90% of humans arent strong enough..dont know themselves enough to be able to even handle the internet.
I have even removed whatsapp. Since many people abuse it..even close family! They feel after sending a hollow sentence..that they have made contact..it is not. And months go by like this and years. I have been ill and alone..and no one of 3 sisters have come visited me now for years. It is insane.
Thats why people in villages are more happy..thats one of the reasons..sincerity and more.true connections.
In villages they are aware of one meal.. here we hurry up making the meal nowadays. With tv on..phone etc.
People are good at fooling themselves..manipulating themselves so well.

I think Happiness is the way u think of Allah, they way u think of any situation u might be because Allah says in Hadith Qudsi 'I am What my servants thinks of me' if u thinks things will be terrible all the time, then it means u are thinking bad of Allah. And one of the things i learned from the wise saying of scholars is that worrying and being sad will never change any situation you are in u rather need to think logical and start praying ..I know sometime it might be difficult not to be unhappy ..but being unhappy can't change any situation.. I always say that to my self.
and we have a lot of teachings in Islam that help us to be happy. The scholars say the amount of Qur'an u read that's the amount of happiness u get. When the prophet(s.a.w) was in the cave with abubakar(r.a) He said to abubakar 'Don't be sad Allah is with us'. So any Muslim out there who might be unhappy or sad I want to tell them the same thing 'Don't be sad Allah is with us did he not say it in Qur'an that He will be with the believers? So think good of Him and don't be unhappy or sad this dunia in few days we going to depart soon so be patient Oh believers just a little more is remaining. The nature of the world is that one day it will be for u and other days they will be against u.' I Love u all for the sake of Allah..I really appreciate Honest Tea Talk and the sisters may Allah bless u for doing this.

Ma shaa Allah wonderful talk Allahumma Baarik 😍 We shouldn’t look happiness in the Dunya because we can’t find it here but instead happiness will find us when we do everything that pleases Allah swt because righteousness comes with contentment at the same time there’s happiness in hardships as well because knowing the fact that you’re being tested because Allah swt loves you as He tests the believers that He loves the most hence that itself cultivates a sense of happiness to the human hearts !

I enjoy listening to these discussions...even if I disagree with some of the points...because here I feel like the difference between a Muslim's perception of happiness and a non-Muslim's is that even if we are not constantly striving for it- because we believe that we must earn it- when it comes our way we can feel as though we have done something right to deserve it. With hardship comes ease, as it says in the Qur'an- there might be many times of hardship and difficulties, but Allah will always give you the small moments of happiness and peace. That is at least how I see it.

OF COURSE, THERE IS HAPPINESS IN THIS LIFE TOO: Allah says: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a *good life* , and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do". Of course there is happiness in dunya; it is in our mindsets. If you see the negatives only then you will never be content or happy. In our religion we are encouraged to be positive and be content. God does not want us to be miserable. And, when trials hit us you can find peace ans acceptance by remembering that all is temporary. I think a better word for happiness is peace and contentment. Isnt that why we say 'peace be upon you'.
May Allah give you all sakina, selaam, and the gift of finding joy in small things and moments.
And, don't worry; we are all in good hands. Just relax, smile and be positive.

Finding happiness in this world all depends on your relationship with Allah and realizing that everything good and bad comes from Him and that He puts you in a unique situation FOR A REASON and if you walk through it with Him He will lead you to happiness. Focusing on your Allah and the reasons we are even here on this earth places everything in perspective and you are able to view life for what it is without having unrealistic expectations. I agree with meditation being key in that you should take time out to ponder on Allah and His creation and the mercies He has bestowed upon you whatever your situation. These things strengthen your reliance on Him and nearness to Him which leads to a friendship with your lord that is priceless and this is the key to happiness inshaAllah.

When your life means something that's when you are really happy.
And if all you do is "the dishes" and "the kids" I really feel sorry for you. ALLAH made us way better the that. And we are accountable for that which we are capable of.
My only suggestion at that point is, firmly establish the 5 dailys and add as much as Qur'an in your life as possible and give as much as Salam to your loved ones as possible and feed or help as much relative and neighbor as possible.
    Jazak ALLAH khairan.

There's nothing superficial in it sister. what makes you happy is the possibility makeup brings to you. It can be the ability to have fun with yourself by changing looks, may be the feeling of being beautiful you get from it or anything else. I don't wear makeup but it would actually be very superficial and ignorant of me to think that love of make up is superficial. Just make sure that the feeling you get from it doesn't come from a place of insecurity where you think you can fit in better or be more acknowledged by the people surrounding you with makeup. If it's not and is coming from a genuine place, I say good for you sis go on..

Allah did not put us on this earth to only worship and be miserable. He wants us to be happy. We are supposed to be happy in this dunya. Anyone who says otherwise is spread false information. Of course I find my true happiness in my seen and relationship with Allah. To say that happiness is only in the aghira is insane. Our lord is a merciful lord and he wouldn’t keep us suffering miserable I. This life only to be happiness in heaven. I find happiness in my kids, in my family, in travel, in eating a great meal, in watching a good movie, etc. c’mon now.

Islam is not about giving up hope on the contrary with imaan and full trust relying to Allah Awj is more than enough to achieve that confidence rather than giving up to being happy in life of which is permissible as Muslims or humans in general and just to wait for akherah. So in my opinion despite of all trials and turbulence we as humans we are bound to feel unhappy its normal because its part of our journey and the moment we find happiness is when we appreciate it even more, what makes one happy may very much differ from one person to another and I feel that we can choose to be happy in most situations even in the worst times of our lives if we only take our worst times to be a learning phase or a step to another time of our life that we needed to have in order to move forward etc. Happiness is an important factor in our lives, it affects our core of living it glows and emits positive energy that affects us and all that is around us and so awareness to achieve happiness is very important on daily basis even if one is alone just thank Allah for your being and feel happy about it have a smile to a passerby or crack a joke to a family member or a friend , remind yourself of good times, and always keep a good attitude towards everyone and kill your ego to find happiness. Lots of Love and peace to all my fellow human beings.

i’m sorry but right of the bat as soon as she said “this world is not for happiness” i remembered why islam is so off putting for me every now and again. how can we even continue if we have no hope of finding happiness? like are we just supposed to suffer and die and hope life works out after death? like it just frustrates me so much to think how people who follow islam actually want us to think that way.

side note (should’ve watched longer before commenting) i love the woman with the black hijab (don’t know her name 😭) like everything she says hits home and makes sense. that is what we need. someone who doesn’t make everything about god and religion i.e people who say depression doesn’t exist if u follow islam like seriously shut up 😐 literally heard a speaker at a masjid say that during friday prayer.

Thanks ladies - great episode ma Sha Allah ! agreed about presence and fostering awareness through meditation, solitude and I believe these practices are reflected in our faith's tradition of 'tafakkur' (mindfulness and reflection) - Yaqeen Institute has a great paper on the Mindful Muslim which further discusses this .Research also shows gratitude, self-compassion, kindness and strong relationships as important contributors to our well-being and happiness :)

It is too easy to say there is 'no' happiness at all in dunya.
There is.. beauty, happiness , love etc etc.. A human can experience moments of it. Those who believe will be tested , and will be sad.
If there was no happiness , then there is no sadness.
But people dont think and speak a lot.

Road to Paradise wrong! Allah created this life for you to be happy and spread joy of living and those who say you cannnot /shouldnt be happy is against Islamic teaching yes there are trials for us but they are put there for Allah to see whether we trust in him or not and when we are sad all the times or are depressed that means our imaan isnt strong

As a Christian, often I listen to the topics Muslims discuss and I realize a few things.
    1) we have the same challenges
    2) a lot of these challenges are NEW to Muslims because it is a consequence of westernization on your religion. Christians went, are going through and are still trying to navigate the same things for centuries. Sometimes Muslims criticize Christians for immorality and secularism that has infiltrated our religion, however Muslims are now realizing the same challenges as more of them emigrate to western countries and have children who push boundaries and sometimes go their own way- the western way.
    3) the basic premise of our faiths are the same. We aim to serve God with our lives, pursue joy and happiness while on earth with the hope of being with him in heaven.

Happiness is does exist but not complete, and it will never be completed because in our life everything is incomplete for us as Muslims. Prophet Muhammad said in context "dynia is Muslims jail", thus do you imagine yourself in a jail and feel happy?! Happiness is only occur when you become closer to Allah. For example, when I miss to recite one day Quran i look dull and I really dont feel okay. However, when I read Quran daily that change my mood and its really fulfil my needs subhan Allah.

There's nothing wrong with happiness in this dhuniya, the problem is the pursuit of happiness,Allah allows happiness amongst other things in your life,I've seen people smilling and being happy just because their about to pray sallah,we as Muslims should actually be trying to find reprieve, solace, happiness and everything else in our amal and our ibaadah of our creator

Happiness to me is a flourishing condition of the soul. Its very difficult to rise above the effects of our conditions/ circumstances but i believe the only way to rise above ones conditions is a change of outlook on life or a change of attitude cause as the saying goes " Our thoughts control our feelings and our feelings control our behavior"
    Great video sisters.👋👋👋
