    I think the reason he chose Bumblebee was because it already sounds like it’s just buzzing, so it be the hardest to hear the difference for non musicians.

    • @KD-oc3xx
      @KD-oc3xx 5 років тому +336

      Very true. I would like to hear him play some classical pieces and see if he actually knows how to do it. Take Picasso for example. He was actually an amazing artist before he came up with his abstract painting. I mean he could draw people's actual portraits. One needs to be good at a skill before they can build on it. Otherwise you get this mess that this kiddo just played.

    • @gabrielahumada7232
      @gabrielahumada7232 4 роки тому +65

      @@KD-oc3xx you can just not compare Piccaso with this guy!! Maybe he can play classical pieces too but what he does with the Bumblebee its a joke and a very bad example to younger violinists who now think the fastest you play the better. Korsakov didnt intend that his piece sounds like this.....a good composer expects that the notes he writes can be heard....

    • @PianoForte9096
      @PianoForte9096 4 роки тому +32

      @@gabrielahumada7232 Kim Tanner appears to agree with you... as do I. We all think that this guy was very messy. Not a personal fan of most of Picasso's work, but I can still see he has talent and he came from talent. This guy... I'm no violinist, and it's easy to catch mistakes on my instrument (piano), but the difference in quality is very obvious to me. On the Guinness video, the pinned comment even says that "the record has been rested", which makes any future attempts to beat it -- including this disastrous mess -- impossible.

      I'm German and I remember the show where David Garrett achieved his world record. They actually had people listening in the background, while the show was still going on, if David hit EVERY SINGLE NOTE. So there were at least some fair requirements for the attempt to count. I don't know why they haven't kept that up for the next attempts.

      Even when he played at a "normal pace" (the marked tempo), if you put it on .25 you can clearly tell that some notes are very out of tune. When he played 15 notes per second, I couldn't even hear the rhythm. There were skipped notes, it sped up and slowed down, and it really didn't sound like music.

      In analyzing the roasting, I agree that he deserved it.... but not so much because he may have had some deficiencies in his playing, but more so because of his attitude.... He didn't present himself as likable in the interview, especially with his bold statements (which were accompanied with a smirk) that he's the only person in the world who can do this or that.
      If you are truly good, you don't have to say it, you just show it. Any rewards and accolades will come naturally from the audience at large... but not from YOU.... We certainly don't see the greats like Itzhak Perlam, Hillary Hahn, or Maxim Vengerov saying that they are the best...they let their playing speak for itself...

      I learned some very intricate pieces on the piano using Suzuki method, it sounds beautiful and it has trained my ear quite well, as it's my only tool to mimic what the composer intended. The drawback? I CANT SIGHT READ FOR SHIT. Like yeah sure I can match a few simple chords by ear, but PEOPLE WHO CAN SIGHT READ CAN ALSO DO THAT. anyway, been practicing sight reading lately, but my fingers memorize pieces faster than my brain does and then I stop sight reading :(

    • @MissTwoSetEncyclopedia
      @MissTwoSetEncyclopedia 7 місяців тому +8

      The Suzuki method is actually great for children, it's an approach where you learn music the same way you learn your mother tongue. Brett and Eddy themselves started violin as kids through the Suzuki method.
      The thing is that you don't stop there. Once you learned how to speak, you go to school to learn to read and write, grammar, spelling, etc.
      It's the same way in music. Once the child is old enough, s/he learns how to read sheet music and takes more formal lessons to deepen his/her understanding of music.

    • @emilflarsen2
      @emilflarsen2 6 років тому +9

      Sure he didn't, but that's what he meant. and it's pretty clear. Ffs. These two guys are bashing on a guy that's done nothing wrong. I myself is a pianist, and i get where he's coming from. To play an instrument at the right bpm. is one thing, but playing something fast is a whole new genre and skill to obtain. It's just like rap music. When playing Rap God by Eminem at 0.25x speed, you don't hear every word clearly as in a Amy Winehouse song, that's obivious to everyone. Their points are so invalid.

    • @julianmitchell3035
      @julianmitchell3035 6 років тому +74

      Uhhh... no. They make a good point. It's one thing not to hear all the notes. That's understandable. It's another when you:
      1. Sacrifice musical beauty for speed
      2. Sacrifice musical precision for speed
      3. Sacrifice musical pitch for speed
      The piece became bland, nasty, an unenjoyable.
      They're not bashing on him because he's a celebrity who can play fast, they're giving criticism to an inaccurate violinist. I'm pretty sure he's a good violinist, but he needs to slow down and get the piece right first.
      Also, people who give criticisms are not haters.
      Haters bitch
      Criticizing is not bitching, but calling something out for what it is.
