Such a Pretty girl with the Pretty voice. When I would listen to Nicola Benedetti's 7 th CD which was all Scottish music this one song would sort of make me break down because it would remind me of my Mother who with my Grand Mother loved Red Roses. They had a Rose Garden and my Mother had a giant Painting of one large Red Rose and at the top it said "Crimson Glory"
Can’t help but love Burns. Here’s the lyrics for you all. O my Luve is like a red, red rose That’s newly sprung in June; O my Luve is like the melody That’s sweetly played in tune. So fair art thou, my bonnie lass, So deep in luve am I; And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a’ the seas gang dry. Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi’ the sun; I will love thee still, my dear, While the sands o’ life shall run. And fare thee weel, my only luve! And fare thee weel awhile! And I will come again, my luve, Though it were ten thousand mile.
Thank you for adding the original lyrics which no one including Rachel Semanni and famously Eddie Reader pay little attention to. A beautiful song too often basterdised.
It seems almost like this is a chance encounter that should not be repeated. There are no songs written to make folk singers people, nor people folk singers. We have have hair or we do not. Towers or no.
Do Record Companies insist all Folk folk do this song? RS can do no wrong, blessed with a near perfect voice; but, really, what was the point of this? Commercial necessity I suppose?

Possibly the best rendition of this iconic song I have ever heard. To die for.
Powerfully and ethereally stunning!
As if I were Rachel's guitar(?), her voice and look touched the strings of my soul. This Beautiful song and singer, absolutely :)

I know what you mean. I love her voice, but I much prefer her own songs.
I don't like this rendition of the famous old song and it needs to be sung by a man.
Sing it like it was meant to sound....when you become known and famous, maybe you can flavor it a bit...
sherp2u1 What do you mean? Her interpretation and voice is beautiful.
