It's so awesome she documented the 90's. Love it.
She puts out good vibes. When it first aired, she was 2 years older than me and I had a mad crush on her. 80s/90s were the best...
Haha.. I had a mad crush on her also.. she's one year older then me almost to the day.. now the reboot happens and I realize I still have a mad crush on her lol 😍🥰
Dude she’s my first crush!
I remember getting her autograph at a Lucky's store in Glendale,CA while Punky Brewster was on the air. One of my friends came to my house shouting Punky Brewster is at Lucky's! There was like 6 of us running to the store and she was walking out with I believe might have been her mother and another boy. We were all excited and she took the time to give us her autograph. It was a great childhood memory.
probably her brother was the boy
That’s an amazing story!
Kids today sure don't know how to socialize like we did when we were younger in the 80's and 90's. I was always out in the neighborhood hanging out with friends a mile or so away and I manage to get home safe. I think with the Internet and how we view society today, we've basically created this way of living/socializing for our kids. We're constantly fearful of our kids being targeted by strange people that we feel it is safer to be helicopter parents. I miss my latch-key kid days, that's for sure
Absolutely.. different times nowadays.. I miss the good ol days
When I was growing up everyone played basketball at the courts behind the local schools. Dozens of people would be there. Now kids play on that one lonely basketball hoop in front of their house.
We did that with no phones or internet lol and never got lost on our bikes then somehow made it home before the sun went down.
True words your right. Now they socialize with phones. But back there were criminals and villians among us as well. Now theres ecen more. Cartoons n movies & shows were better back then. Now a days not really. All i know is even if some kids are spoiled now. I'm still be a Heroe and a Bodyguard for all my siblings
I loved the documentary. Its amazing that she managed to save all of the photos, videos, recordings...memories. I have only a handful of pics from my childhood.
There is no shortage of 90's show reboots, but Punky Brewster is one I'm actually looking forward to! 😁
80s show😉
She is so gorgeous!❤️
What’s up with these Generation X ladies who are more attractive than they were in their 20s?😍
Shes super hot. Looked fantastic in that leather dress too. Wow.
Maybe because we aren't that old yet!
Aren't we all? This makes me feel old and I am about a decade younger than they are!
I can relate! LOL!
@@dallasdandigitalproduction393 Don’t forget her shoes too!
The episode of Punky Brewster where her and her friends were playing hide and seek and one hid in an abandoned refrigerator had me shook. During that time that was a big deal, kids dying from hiding in refrigerators. Yikes.
I’m from Brazil and that scene terrorizes me too.
That scene haunts me today...
Same here
Punky Brewster was an ‘80s show, not a ‘90s show. It ran from 1984-1988. There, just in case you didn’t quite feel old enough as it was 😂
Lol don’t remind me 😭😭
True 80s show because i had vaguely familiar memories. I was a todfler but in the 90s it was in cable.
She’s so beautiful inside and out!!!!! Can’t wait to see kid 90!!!!! I loved those years!!!! ❤️🌈
Punky done growed up!
She’s so beautiful still! I’m rewatching all of the Punky Brewster episodes! Her eyes have always been so captivating!
She is wonderful. So sweet to see her.
It truly shows the essence growing up in the 90s. Camcorders were all the rage.
I grew up watching Punky and always loved Soleil. I can’t thank her enough for showing these videos! The nostalgia is phenomenal! This was my life in the ‘90’s. I lost many friends too. Thanks to Soleil, I reached out to a couple of childhood friends. We’ve reunited and its a life changing experience! Gen X was an amazing time to grow up in! For me and the people I know, having no cell phones and computers made us go out on our own and personally socialize which looking back is so beautiful! I cried though the documentary, in a good way! Thank you Soleil! You’ve done more than you’ll ever know❤️
As an older millenial who admired Gen Xers, i cannot wait to watch this.
Yep. I was born in nov of '79...so I am one of those cuspers. Technically Gen x but also a millenial
Watching it now. Amazing all of the people she was friends with.
@@frigginirishloons '79 is Gen X not millennial
@@trishdaG nov of 79. Gen Y starts in 80... it's cusp. I'm much more millennial than X
it was real good
Punky power!!
Yep ! Now it's a new Generation to enjoy it. I love that.
Oh my god, you such a punky nerd. That’s great.
@@eo9337 absolutely!❤😊
This was my first childhood crush! Soleil your still my girl!
So I just saw an ad for the new Punky reboot on Pluto TV yesterday and got really excited to binge the whole series on Peacock. I was feeling nostalgic and started pulling up old clips of the original Punky Brewster, which led me to a couple interviews when she was a kid, then to more recent ones... you know how the UA-cam rabbit hole works... Anyway, I had no idea that she filmed her whole life like that and turned it into a documentary and now Im doubly excited!!! I cant wait to see both the doc and the new Punky!
She was like my sister growing up and now she’s this stunningly beautiful woman! Yay for Soleil, you’re so cool!
Watched it last night. By the end my eyes were watering and was on the verge of crying. Until around 2009 when I saw this special “50 Cutest Child Stars: All Grown Up” I hadn’t been aware that Soleil was a child star. I saw her pop up and was like “Roxie from Sabrina?”. If I ever work with Soleil I’d just love to have an hours long conversation with her.
Whenever I hear her talk, I close my eyes & all I can imagine is Jade from Bratz speaking
the episode of punky and the challenger disaster still stirs something in me.
Omg. Yes. I remember it so well!
The cave episode was Nightmare fuel as a child lol
@@halicarnassus834 that episode was a good one for me.
She is the most adorable person.💗
She is still absolutely beautiful. My first crush.
Oh I just loved her when I was little! I can’t wait to see this documentary!
She played Roxie in Sabrina the teenage witch. Brings back so many good memories.
Punky Brewster was a huge influence and role model in my life! Love this interview, ty Kimmel!!😍
This documentary really hit me hard. Was so raw
We loved the show Punky Brewster in the 80s.
I recently started watching the original series with my 11 year old daughter, when I found out they were doing a reboot. She loves it!
Original series ?of what ?
@@NinaMwais Seriously? Punky Brewster duh 🙄

This is a great interview.
Can’t wait to see that documentary! I love Punky Brewster.
'96 @ the Melrose. Thanks for giving me a glimpse into the LA Looking Glass Soleil. Thanks for our little yoga session
. Thanks Jimmy
I wish she was my friend! She’s such a beautiful soul❤️🙌🏾
20 years later since the Sabrina days and I still have a mad crush on this woman
I wonder if Roxie is coming back tho!
Sabrina??
@@StrongnBeautiful Sabrina The Teenage Witch another show that she was on.
This is so awesome!!!!
Brian Austen Green is one of the nicest guys ever.
Really. In the show he is. I never met him but i bet his nice in person.
I've just seen the docmentary, and I found it so beautiful, and to be honest, Soleil did this job with so much love to honour those who aren't between us like Jonathan Brandis. Regarding Kid 90 as a documentary, it's basically traveling from your past to your present, for later you realize all you've done so far despite the successes and failures especially, when you are a young star like the own Soleil during the 90's.
This is amazing
loved her then but LOVE her even more now♥️
Beautiful documentary!
She seems like such an amazing person.
That “scary” episode with the cave and the ghosts and the demon and Allen being stuck in the wall, changed the way I sleep, from then on out!! It traumatized me just a weee bit. Lol
A few years ago, my sister gave me a DVD of old Punky episodes. I sat through one episode and then declared that my parents were saints for putting up with it because it does not hold up to my memory. I'd recommend watching this again and you won't be afraid anymore - believe me.
Similarly the episode where her friend hid in the fridge and needed cpr from punky and another friend. traumatized me as a child. First memory where cpr instructions stuck in my head.
@@virtualdeej2653 yes, that one traumatized me too
@@virtualdeej2653 And the one when the Challenger blew up.
Yesssss! I thought I was the only one. The scene with his face in the wall was TERRIFYING!!! I mean it was like watching one of those trick videos nowadays where your expecting familiar/ calming content and something horrifying flashes across the screen and you can't unsee it.
Can't wait to see it.
She looks amazing!! I loved that show❤️
I had no idea she was Punky Brewster. I only know here from her cameo on Friends lol I want to see this documentary now!
I saw every episode of new Punky, then Kid90, then went back and saw every episode of original Punky. YAY SOLEIL!!!
One of my top favorite celebrity's. She is so sweet ! 😁
I,also got an autograph of Soleil at Universal Studios Hollywood back in April 24,1993 when the Sega Star Kids Challenge was taped.
Kid90 is must see ! Stunning !
she’s awesome
It’s amazing she had the forethought to document her life in the 90s! That was not easy! Those camcorders though, oh my!😅
I’d love to watch this documentary!!! I’m a kid 90
In Brazil the serie called Punk, a levada da breca. Many people knew George Gaynes, when he actuaded in Police. It was a great success.
The way I look at her now and then is night and day!
That's so cool!
LOVE YOU JIMMY ♥️♥️
So she had her own personal Video Camer in 1990, I remember she said her folks had a Video Camera for holidays, days out when she was a little kid in 1983.
Can't wait for this.
I love her! 😍❤️
Needed more footage.
Her laugh tho! 🤣
This Real Talk; my childhood revisited!
My childhood crush!
There better be a Golden Retriever in this reboot / continuation of PB, because Brandon MADE that show. For me, at least.
There is! I was surprised
@@taieshagordon2774 Excellent! Good to hear. Thanks!
I absolutely love Brandon.🐶
Brewster is my last name. I've been getting called Punky Brewster for my entire life...! It would great to hear Bernie pronounce it !!
I loved punky Brewster!💕
Am I the only one here that came to hear Jade from Bratz' voice again? 😂🤣
Yes. Yes you are.
I loved that show! It was so sad with these abandoned kids in the 80’s. Her Mom left her at a grocery store, Webster parents died, I don’t know about the different strokes kids.
Their parents died
@@h193013 Phil Drummond's housekeeper was their mother and she asked him if he would take care of the boys if something ever happen to her and their father.
Before my time (born 1989), somehow I've gone my whole life without even knowing what a Punky Brewster is but the documentary talked about here sounds pretty cool.
I was born in 86. I was obsessed with punky

How can you not just absolutely adore her???
I’m surprised people don’t realize, this is Zoey from The Proud Family! 😭🙏🏽🔥 You can somewhat hear it in her voice!
Looking forward to the new Punky... it was a fun show back in the day, curious to know if they cover her foster dad and any memories of him and if any of her kids are using the fun flower cart bed, and who her current fur partner in crime is.

Hello,
Punky is my idol.
Happy birthday to me.
5-24-1981. All month long.
When will Season 2 Premiere?
Thanks for everything.
In the documentary she should’ve mentioned other child actors at that time as well like Brad Renfro, Kirsten Dunst, Scarlett Johansson, Anna Paquin, River Phoenix, Wil Wheaton, Joaquin Phoenix
Princess MOON! ❤❤❤
The cartoon was lit too
I am a huge fan of hers. I just love Punky Brewster.
